Ghoulish Googlies Treat Bag

Hi there!  Popping in to show you one of the make n take projects we did at the Holidaze Demo Event on Sep 22nd.  Isn't it adorable?  This little treat bag comes in a kit with the tags, googlie eyes, and bakers twine so you can complete the project.  Stampin' Up! thought of everything.  All you have to do is stamp the tag with the coordinating stamp set sold separately.  Or you can purchase the bundle, which includes the stamp set and the Ghoulish Googlies kit  (Wood-mount 129852 $20.95, Clear-mount 129853 $16.95).  These items can be found on page 27 of the Holiday Catalog.  We ran the bag through the Big Shot with the Spider Web embossing folder for some added interest.  Who are we kidding?  Those little munchkins are only interested in what's inside - that snack size bag of M&M's!  lol

That's it for now.  Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping in today!

Holidaze Demo Event

Hi there!  I'm back with a sampling of some of the great demonstrations we saw at the Holidaze Event for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators (and guests) held September 22 in Arnold, MO.  Sally Nusbaum organizes two of these events each year.  She puts a lot of time and hard work into planning them.  (Plus she is just a real fun person to be around.)  I love attending these events!  There is always something to learn and new people to meet!  For example, the above display is of a technique called Faux Patina.  Mary Derhake did an excellent presentation showing us how to achieve this look based on instructions by Angie Leach found here.  I have been wanting to try this technique so I was uber excited to actually see it done. (I'm more of a visual person anyway.)   Can't wait to try it!  I'm still working on projects but as soon as they are completed, I'll share my experiment of this technique with you.

Had a productive day with the Wednesday girls finishing up kits for our upcoming Christmas Card Workshop being held on Oct 6th.  Now it's time to hit the hay.  Thank you for stopping in for a visit!

Cookies! The Last Camp Card

Hey there and happy Friday to you!  Here is the last of the Stamp Camp cards - Cookie Monster.  He sure was a popular one!  I've been challenged to make an Oscar.  (I'm up for the challenge but it will be a few weeks when things settle down a bit.)  One thing I learned is to cut a hinged circle (accomplished by placing your folded card stock just below the cut line).  Adhere the larger Pacific Point scallop circle (cut out separately) on top.  This technique works really well and you don't have to worry about the scallops lining up.  That was the previous dilemma even though the pieces were cut together.  Go figure!

Stamps: Wacky Wishes – inside sentiment (W-126410, C-126412 Hostess set)
Paper: Black, Crumb Cake, Pacific Point, White
Ink: Black (inside sentiment), Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip marker
Tools:  Sizzix Dies = 4-1/2” Scallop Circle Die & 4” Circle Die, circle punches = 5/8”, 1”, 1-3/4”, 2-3/4” (#4 from center non-SU circle die), Scallop Circle punch
Other:  Sponges, White gel pen
Inspiration: various blogs on the internet

Tomorrow is the Holidaze Demo Event!!  It's one of the events Sally Nusbaum organizes bi-annually for us Demonstrators and friends.  We jokingly call them "Sally's Regionals".  (I think she likes that.)  Looking forward to the demonstrations, seeing my stamping friends, and of course swapping. Those who wish, can participate in the card swap.  I'll be back to show you some of the swaps I receive.
Must run for now.  Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping by for a visit today!

Masculine Card

Popping in real quick here to post this card from my stash that was sent to our nephew, who is a hunter.  The set is an old Stampin' Up! set that has long been retired - but still a favorite "go to" set for the sportsmen in my life.  Sorry I don't remember the name of the set!  I think our nephew will appreciate the card .....that's what he tells me in his thank you notes.  Yes, he writes thank you notes!
I'm off to bed.  Hope you had a great weekend and thank you for stopping in for a peek!

Paisley Petals

Hi there!  Real quick post so I can get to bed.  Stamp Camp went really well today.  Tomorrow I have another one.  Anyway..... on to the card for today.  It was a super easy one - and the only stamping done was for the inside sentiment.  Designer Series Paper (retired Paisley Petals) was used.  The base is Bravo Burgundy with an embossed Marina Mist panel (Framed Tulips embossing folder).

That's it for now.  Have a great weekend and thank you for coming by today!

Halloween Shadow Box

Hi there!  Remember the Halloween Squares Swap I participated in a few weeks ago?  Well, Pam D'Urso did too.  She actually did something with hers!  lol  That was on her list of projects to complete during the Little House on the Prairie Stamping Retreat she held last weekend.  Isn't it just the cutest?   She did a great job!  She actually had enough squares to make two shadow boxes but I failed to get a photo of the second one.  She also designed some squares for a wedding shadow box for a gift.  What a wonderful keepsake for the newlyweds!  Unfortunately, I failed to get a picture that too.  Trust me - it was beautiful.

Been busy today getting ready for my Camps.  It's been nice working with the windows open - enjoying the fresh air.  It has gotten a little bit cooler.  Yeah!  I'm soooo ready for Fall.
Must get ready for bed so I can head out early in the morning.  Thanks for coming by today.  It's always a pleasure to have you stop in!

More Open Sea Triple Time Stamping

Hi there!  What a crazy busy week!  But it's all good.  Hope you're enjoying the holiday weekend.  It's a bit on the damp side here, but that's OK since it was much needed.
Today's card features the Triple Time Stamping Technique which has been all over the internet.  I experimented with different color combinations.  The So Saffron and Basic Gray combo is OK but not one of my fav's.  Can't win them all, right?  lol

That's it for now.  Have a safe holiday and thank you for stopping in!
