Pennant Birthday and Spooktacular One Day Sale

Hi there!  Gosh, another week upon us and the last one of October.  Time is just flying by too quickly!
The above card is one of the many Oct birthday cards I sent out.  I actually sent/gave everyone on the list a card!  That doesn't usually happen.  Someone ends up being left out.  Yeah, me!

The flags hanging from Baker's twine were made from Big Top DSP with the Petite Pennant Punch.  The owl, of course, was punched from the Owl Punch.  A birthday sentiment from a retired set, Happiest Birthday Wishes, completes the card.

Don't forget that today is the Spooktacular One Day Sale, which ends tonight at 11:50 pm Mountain Time.  Call or email me if you'd like to save 15% on most stamp sets in the current catalogs.

That's it for now.  Working on some future projects.  Thank you for stopping in today!

Serene Silhouettes

Hi there!  I'm back from a quick trip out of town to attend a family member's funeral.  And if that wasn't exhausting enough, I promised to take my granddaughter to movie night at her school last night.  Most of the kids were not interested in watching the movie - only in getting popcorn and playing around on their blankets.  Oh well, they had a fun time.  Pretty much fell into bed when I got home!
OK, on to the card. This is the last of the Stamp Camp projects the girls made.

Stamps: Serene Silhouettes (W-127322, C-127324), Perfectly Penned (W-122890, C-122892)
Paper: Always Artichoke, Primrose Petals, Vanilla
Ink: Always Artichoke pad, Markers = Always Artichoke, Pretty in Pink, and Raspberry Ripple
Other:  Acrylic bocks, scrap copy paper
Inspiration: Pinterest

SPECIAL OFFER!  Stampin' Up! is having a Spooktacular one day sale on Monday, Oct 29th where most stamps will be 15% off - including the new single stamps!!  Plus they have added some more single stamps here.
Not included in this one day Spooktacular sale are Hostess sets, bundles, or digital stamp brush kits.

Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping in today!

Blooming Stamp Camp

Hi there!  It's a gray, rainy Monday here.  A good day to stamp!  So with that, I'll share one of the projects the girls made at Stamp Camp this past Friday and Saturday.  (Had a great time with both groups.  Thank you ladies!)  I CASE'd the above card from my downline, Mary Taylor.  There have been similar projects on the internet so I'm not sure where she got her inspiration.  Anyway, thanks Mary!  The only changes I made was the sentiment and the linen thread bow.

Stamps: Blooming with Kindness (W-126420, C-126422)
Paper:  Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Vanilla
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Tools: Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies (127003), Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch (119275), Paper Piercing Pack Essentials (126187), mat, piercing tool
Other:  Linen Thread (104199), repositionable adhesive, sponges, glue dots, acrylic blocks
Inspiration: Mary Taylor

That's all for now.  Need to work on some cards to mail.  Hope you have a great day and thank you for stopping in!

What a Grouch!

Hi there!  Hope you've been having a good weekend.  Today I had a chance to play in the studio rather than work on projects.  Guess it's all playing really.  It's a tough job but somebody has to do it!  lol
A while back my friend issued a challenge to come up with an Oscar the Grouch card.  Thought I had that covered... but no, she wanted him in a trash can.  Plus, some of the punches used in the past to make Oscar have since retired - so I had to figure out what current tools could be used.  The above card is the result of today's efforts.
The trash can is made from a 2" x 3" piece of gray card stock with a bit of the top nipped out with the Extra-Large Oval punch (Wide Oval).  I also cut a 1" x 3" strip of gray.  These were then run through the Big Shot in the Stripes embossing folder.  The edges were inked with Black, then the 1" piece was adhered to the top-back portion of the trash can.  Oscar is on Dimensionals.  The "bottle" was punched from the jewelry tag punch, trimmed at the neck, and chalked around the edges for some definition.  The "newspaper trash" is scrap First Edition DSP, crumpled and distressed with Black ink.  Black ink was also used on the card base to tone down the White.  After all, Oscar lives in a dingy area!

Oscar:
Head = Gumball Green 1-3/4" scallop circle punch
Eyebrows =  square punch - double punched and trimmed
Eyes = Owl punch (largest circle in White, medium circle in Black)
Mouth =  Black Small Oval, trimmed in half horizontially
Tongue = Real Red Large Oval (cut off about 1/4" on one end to use as the tongue)

Stamp:  Wacky Wishes
Paper:  Gumball Green, Chocolate Chip, White, Black, Gray, Real Red, First Edition DSP
Ink:  Black
Other: White gel pen, jewelry tag punch, scallop circle punch, square punch, owl punch, oval punches, Stripes embossing folder, Dimensionals

Enjoy what's left of the weekend and thanks for checking in today!

French Watercolor

Hi there!  It's a wet and gray day here and I'm on my way out the door.  No worries!   It will be a bright and cheery day with the ladies attending Stamp Camp!  So, on to the card for today.  It's another birthday card made with Stampin' Up! Watercolor Wonder Crayons.  Told you there were a lot of birthdays this month!  lol  I rubbed different crayon colors on the stamp, spritzed it with water, then applied to the card stock. The water spot image from the set was inked up with ink to tone down the White.

Stamps: French Foliage, Petite Pairs
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, More Mustard, Perfect Plum, White
Ink: Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant, More Mustard
Other: Oval punches, Edgelits,  Watercolor Wonder Crayons

Must get going now.  Thank you for stopping by today and have a great weekend!

Faux Patina Technique

Hi there!  One of the things I've been wanting to try is the faux patina technique after seeing the video/directions for this technique on Angie Leach's blog found here.  It was also one of the demonstrations at our Holidaze Demo event back in September.  Soooo, our stamping retreat this past week was the perfect time to "play" around with this technique.  Then I CASE'd Leena Girsa's card here.  Love how it turned out but it's a bit labor intensive for my 60+ Christmas cards this year.

Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted
Stamps: Ornament Keepsakes, More Merry Messages
Paper: White, Marina Mist
Ink: Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Always Artichoke, Soft Suede
Other: Framelits, Pewter embossing powder, heat tool, pearls, Dazzling Diamonds, 2-way glue pen

That's it for now.  Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Birthday Fishes

Hi there - another scheduled post while I'm away with my stamping peeps!  I made this cute card at one of Sarah Klasing's monthly classes awhile back.  Most of the products are now retired.  The fish's body was made from the Delightful Decorations set stamped in Only Orange ink and punched out with the ornament punch.  Hey - some current products!  The retired 5-Petal Flower Punch (cut apart) was used for his fins and tail.  His eye is made with circle punches and the "bubbles" are rhinestones. This little guy is happily swimming along the grassy bottom of some lake made using Inspired by Nature (yep, it's retired).

Stamps: Delightful Dozen, Inspired by Nature, Stem Sayings
Paper: Only Orange, White, Ballet Blue
Ink: Old Olive, Only Orange, Black
Other: Ornament punch, circle punch, 5-Petal Flower punch, rhinestones

Can you tell I'm purging my card stash?  They may be oldies but they're still goodies.  Thanks for coming by today!

Upsy Daisy

Hi there!  This is a scheduled post since I'll be with my stamping peeps the rest of the week!  Fortunately,  my husband doesn't mind all my comings and goings.
The retired (I know - sorry about that) Upsy Daisy set was used on this card made at Sarah Klasing's class a while back.  We stamped the image in Poppy Parade, then moved over slightly and stamped again.  That's what gives you that shadow effect.  Cool, huh?  I was never a fan of Poppy Parade until we made this card.  But it has since retired, too.

That's it for now.  Have a great day and as always, thank you for stopping in!

French Foliage

Hi there!  A quick post to show this card for another friend's birthday.  I cut out a rectangle from the center of a 3-3/4" x 5" scrap piece of card stock to use as a mask.  The mask was placed over a Very Vanilla panel the same size.  I then lightly sponged Cajun Craze ink inside the cut out rectangle area.  The mask was removed to stamp the Early Espresso leaves (French Foliage set).  A few Cajun Craze splatters were made with the image that comes in the set.  I also used an Early Espresso marker in the Color Spritzer tool for some added distressing.  The focal piece was mounted on Cajun Craze, wrapped it with some hemp (retired product), then mounted on an Early Espresso card base.

That's it for now.  Thank you for visiting today!

Trendy Trees

Hi there and happy Monday to you!  This month is another month full of birthdays.  The above card was pulled from my stash and sent to a friend.  The cute little trees were made using the Trendy Trees set and the sentiment is from Afterthoughts.  Both sets are now retired - sorry.

All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless noted:
Stamps:  Trendy Trees, Afterthoughts
Paper:  Pear Pizzazz, Cajun Craze
Ink:  Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait, Cajun Craze
Other:  Square punches

The next couple of days I'll be busy getting my neglected house back in order, doing laundry, and packing to leave Wednesday morning for the Girls Getaway Retreat.  Looking forward to that!  Must go now to get busy with those things.  Have a great day and thank you for checking in today!

Wonderfall

Hi there!  Just vegging today but wanted to send out a big THANK YOU from Mary Taylor, Jayne Singleton, Mary Ellen Cope, and I to all of our awesome customers/friends who helped make the Christmas Card Workshop a huge success yesterday!!!  We received a lot of positive feedback. (Your input is appreciated - thank you).  Our customers are telling us they can't wait until the next one!  Thank you ladies for your support!  We had FUN right along with you!

Well, it's definitely feeling like Fall around here so the above card is an appropriate choice for today's post.  The leaf image stamp set used is Wonderfall.  The leaves were stamped in Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango.  I then used a template (cut from some scrap card stock) to trace around with a Soft Suede marker.  The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs set.

Gonna get back to my vegging....not really.  Need to unload my car so I can repack for the Girls Getaway Retreat beginning Wednesday.   More awesome-ness with my stampin' peeps!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thank you for stopping by today!

Special Birthday

Hi there!  We're getting close to the weekend AND our Christmas Card Workshop!  So before I dash off to take care of business, here is a card made for my daughter's BFF's 30th birthday.  Saw this idea on Pinterest.  (How addicting is that site?)  Had to dig out my Sizzix numbers and blow off the dust in order to cut out the 4" x 5-1/4" panel of random numbers.  lol  A scrap of Melon Mambo was adhered behind the 30 to make the numbers pop.  The panel was then adhered to a black card base with Dimensionals.  Easy peasy.  It took longer to dig out the dies than it did to make the card!  lol

Must run.  Thank you for visiting today!
