Blue Field Flowers

Hi there!  Can you believe we are at the end of another year?  Gosh, where did it go????
Today was a good day to stay inside and stamp since it was snowing.  The inspiration for the above card came from Pinterest.  There are soooo many ideas for just about anything on Pinterest!  It's quite an addictive site if you haven't viewed it yet.  Anyway, I decided to make this card in other colors besides Marina Mist.  Such an easy card, too.  The blue area was masked off with Post-It notes for clean, crisp lines.  The stem of Field Flowers was stamped in Black, while the flower was a 2-step process - first in Marina Mist, then Black.  The sentiment is from Perfectly Penned.

That's all for this year.  Hope everyone has a healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year!  Thank you for stopping in for a visit today!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone!
I don't normally share family photos but love this one of our granddaughter with Santa yesterday.  Looks like a serious conversation, huh?  The last couple of years we started combining hubby's birthday celebration and Christmas since the kids have so many places to be with their spouses/significant others on Christmas day.  Of course, Santa's visit was the highlight of the evening!

Hope everyone is enjoying Christmas and thank you for stopping by today!

Snip, Snip

Hi there and happy Friday!  Wow, yesterday we had some brutal weather with 50+ MPH winds and some  rain, then snow mixed in!  I had to run some errands in that mess for several hours.  When I was returning home, our street was partially blocked with the neighbor's tree that had fallen (we live on a cul-de-sac).  A crew had cleared a path wide enough to get through.  That crew (or a different one) arrived a few minutes later with a bulldozer to move the tree back into the neighbor's yard.  Good thing it fell into the street, otherwise it would have been on her house!

Today's post is the paper snips case received from Pam D'Urso as a swap at our Demo Christmas party back on Nov 30th.  Pretty cool, huh?  Love it!  Pam makes the best things.  I've been wanting to make the no sew version.  Now I don't have to!  LOL  The fabric Pam used is Deck the Halls that can be ordered online from the clearance rack..

Must go now to hang out with the granddaughter.  She spent the night with us - she has bronchitis and couldn't go to school yesterday or today.  Her medicine must be working because she doesn't act sick at all.  Plus she had a good night's sleep - and no coughing.

Keep warm and thanks for stopping by today!

Pool Blooming with Kindness

Hi there!  Geez this week is going so fast!  Spent most of the day (well now it's yesterday) working on projects and shopping.  Thought I'd better pop in to post a card.  The above card was sent to my oldest for her birthday.  Saw this somewhere on Pinterest.  A clear acrylic block was inked up with Pool Party ink then stamped on a White panel.  The flower and sentiment are stamped in Early Espresso ink.  The focal piece is adhered to the card front with Dimensionals.  The simplicity of this card is striking and perfect for a number of occasions.

Paper: White, Pool Party
Ink: Pool Party, Early Espresso
Other: Clear acrylic block, Scallop Trim border punch, Dimensionals

Indigo Delicate Doilies

Inspiration = Pinterest
Hi there and happy Monday!  I'm gonna jump right in with today's card - lots to do to prepare for the holidays.  Begin by masking off a rectangle area on a 3-3/4" x 5" panel of White with Post-it notes and lightly sponge on Pool Part ink.  Stamp images from Delicate Doilies with Island Indigo ink - the lighter one was stamped off, then remove mask.  Stamp another doily image on a piece of scrap White, cut out, and adhere to focal piece with Dimensionals.  The sentiment is from A Word for You set.  The focal piece gets matted to a 4" x 5-1/4" Island Indigo panel, then adhered to the card front.  Easy Peasy!  Just think of all the color combinations you could do!

Remember the Clearance Rack Blitz going on right now.  A lot of good deals out there!  Call or email me if you want to place an order (contact info on side bar and above in header).

That's it for now.  Have a great day and thank you for stopping by!

Apothecary Loving Thoughts

Hi there!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was busy and fun!
Today's card is one that was sent to my friend and side-line, Jayne Singleton, as a thank you for providing her home as the venue for our Customer Appreciation Open House and SO much more!  She is such a sweetheart!
The Vanilla background panel was made with the Very Vintage wheel using Soft Suede ink and then sponged heavily with Crumb Cake and a little bit of Soft Suede inks.  That panel was then adhered to the Rose Red mat and card base.  The focal piece and mat was cut from the Labels Collection of Framelits.  I used watercolor paper and a blender pen to color the Apothecary Art image - and more sponging to tone it down.  The sentiment from Loving Thoughts was stamped on a scrap, ends notched and popped up on Dimensionals.  The butterflies and pearls were added for a finishing touch.

Stamps: Apothecary Art, Loving Thought, Very Vintage wheel
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Watercolor, Vanilla
Ink: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Old Olive, Certainly Celery
Other: Framelits, Sizzlit embosslit - Beautiful Wings, blender pen, pearls, Dimensionals

That's it for now.  Thank you for visiting today!

Snowman Kisses

Hi there!  Hope your week has been wonderful.  Hard to believe that it's Friday already!  Today's project is this adorable snowman tea light and Kisses, which was a gift for each Pieces of Heart Stampers team member from Pam D'Urso.  (It was HER birthday but she gave US gifts.  That's how she is!)  Isn't he just the cutest?  Pam is the Queen of 3-D in my book.  He just makes me so happy - how could you NOT be?  And how cute is that  to cover the bottom of Kisses with Designer Series Paper!  Thanks again, Pam - you inspire me!

OK, that's all for now.  Must get some things checked off my to-do list before heading out to a party this evening.  Tis the season.  Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by today!

Elements of Style

Hi there!  Today's card is one that was sent to my friend in the hospital to let her know she's in my thoughts.  The Elements of Style flower image was stamped on watercolor paper with black StazOn ink.  Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, and Old Olive ink was applied to the image with a blender pen.  The embellishment was made from the Decorative Label punch, oval punches, plus a sentiment from the Layered Labels set.  A 1/8" hole punch was used on the scallop oval piece along with a scrap of crochet trim tucked behind the Decorative Label to dress it up a bit.

Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted

Paper: Old Olive, Night of Navy, Vanilla, watercolor
Ink: Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Old Olive, Black StazOn

Twisted Patio Party

Closed view

Open view with tea light
Hi there!  Yesterday was so bright and sunny but today is gray and gloomy.  What a difference a day makes.  But you didn't come here for a weather report so let's get on to the card.  This card was made for my friend, Pam D'Urso, who was in town for her birthday on Friday (Nov 30th).  Pam's birthday wish was to spend the weekend in St Louis with her stamping peeps.  Love that!  We got to see her and Steve three days in a row!  Dawn Griffith posted a Christmas card she made using the twisted easel technique (you can see her card here) so I changed it up a bit by using Patio Party DSP and the candle image from Create a Cupcake stamp set to change the theme to birthday.  Just so happens that yesterday Dawn posted a birthday card for her daughter using the same DSP - just a different pattern.  We're thinking alike.  Ha!  I could only hope!

Stamps:  Create a Cupcake
Paper:  Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, White, Vellum, Patio Party DSP
Ink: Midnight Muse
Other: Summer Starfruit satin ribbon, Large & Scallop oval punches, Designer Frames embossing folder, tea light

That's it for today.  Hope you have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Penguin Punch Art

Hi there!  Hope your weekend was everything you wanted it to be.  Mine was fantastic!   More about that in a minute but first I'd like to post this adorable penguin card from my friend, Rita.  He's so cute!  Didn't she do an awesome job?  Rita was inspired by Kay Sha.  Click here to go to her web site.  Thank you Rita!

OK as mentioned in my last post, Friday evening was our first Demo Christmas party.  It was fun mingling with everyone, making the two projects, and of course swapping.  Sally Nusbaum did an outstanding job organizing this event for us!  Saturday Jayne Singleton held a Valentines for Soldiers event.  We stamped Valentine cards which will be sent to the troops so they'll have cards to send home to their loved ones.  A very worthwhile cause!  Not exactly sure how many cards we stamped.  I had to leave early to get to a Red Hat Christmas party.  The ladies who signed up for the class made three cards each.  Most of them had never stamped before and they did great!  Sunday afternoon Jayne, Mary Taylor, and I hosted our Customer Appreciation Open House.  We had a good turnout and everyone enjoyed the event - and the weather was gorgeous.  Afterwards while cleaning up, we realized that we forgot to take pictures!  Oh well, maybe next time.

It was a busy weekend and tons of fun. (I'll post pics of the cards later)  Now it's time to tend to those things that were pushed to the "back burner" as the saying goes.  Hope you have an awesome week and thank you for stopping by today!
