Easy Events Snail

Hi there!  Hope your week is going well so far.  This is a scheduled post since I'm with my stampin' peeps at the Girls Getaway Retreat.  Lots of good times!  What goes on at the retreat, stays at the retreat!  lol

OK, now for a little info about the above card.  I was late sending a birthday card to a friend, so my belated wishes were conveyed with this card.
Our new Honeycomb embossing folder was used on the background panel, and can be found in the new Stampin' Up! Spring catalog.  It's definitely a favorite of mine.  The stamp set is Easy Events (found in the annual catalog).

That's it for now.  Thanks for stoping in today!

Shoebox Swaps - Part 2

Rita's swap

Hi there!  Another short post today - tons to do to get ready for the Girls Getaway Retreat!  As promised yesterday, here are the last of the swaps from Saturday.  We all loved the unique shape of Rita's card.  Like I said, the shoebox swap cards were great!  Such talented friends!

Shoebox Swaps

Ann Marie's swap

Hi there and happy Monday!  Hope you had a good weekend.  Mine was great in spite of the snow.  Thank goodness the streets were pretty well cleared by Saturday so I could get out to stamp with friends as planned.  We had a little shoebox swap - just the four of us.  What fun!  The cards were great, too!  After stamping we had a wonderful lunch of quiche, salad, and apple pie!  Yummo!  Everything was absolutely delicious!!!  Then, of course, we had to sit around and chat a bit.  What a fun day!  Sure hope we can do it again real soon!

Mary's swap
Aren't these great swaps?  I really like each style and the color combinations!  I don't remember the name of the Stampin' Up! sets that we used (sorry!) - some of them are retired.  I'll share the other two cards tomorrow.  Gotta keep ya hanging!  lol

Last I heard, there is more snow in the forecast this week.  Ugh!  That could interfere with our Girls Getaway Retreat which begins Wednesday.  This last snow sure messed up travel plans for a lot of people.  Maybe it will go around us - or not even happen.

Must go to run some errands.  Thank you for stopping by today!

Spring Sampler Birthday

Hi there!  Today I'm stamping with friends but wanted to post this card.  It was one of the cards in Carla Spradling's Card Buffet.  The cute little images are from the Spring Sampler set, which can be found in the Stampin' Up! Spring catalog.  The sentiment can be found in Apothecary Art (in the regular catalog).

That's it for now.  Thanks for stopping by!  You're visits are always welcome!

Punchy Candles

Hi there and happy Friday!  Another week has flown by.  Hope you've had a good one!

This month was another one filled with quite a few birthdays.  The above card went to a friend, which was made mostly from punches.  The candles were made with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch and the flames are from the Bird Builder punch.  I had the sentiment among bits and pieces that didn't work out on another card.  Sorry, but I don't remember what stamp set - probably something retired now.  The background panel was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The cool thing is you can make candles in any color!  Love that!

That's all for now.  Looking forward to a fun day of stamping with some friends tomorrow!  Have a great weekend and thank you for visiting today!

By the Tide

Hi there!  Gonna make this quick so I can get to bed.  The above card was one of the choices in Carla Spradling's Card Buffet earlier this month.  It was a good masculine card to send to a friend who recently retired.  The stamp set By the Tide can be found in the Stampin' Up! Spring catalog.  Love this set!  The little embellishment was made using our new Soda Pop Tops.  I didn't think I'd like them but they are so CUTE!  Now I'll have to order some (also in the Spring catalog.)

All supplies Stampin' Up! unless noted
Stamps: By the Tide
Paper: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Midnight Muse, White
Ink: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Midnight Muse
Other: Soda Pop Tops, 1/2" circle punch, Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, Midnight Muse Satin ribbon, Dimensionals

That's it for now.  Thank you for stopping in today!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi there and Happy Valentine's Day!  Above is an individual sized box of candy that I won in a drawing at Carla Spradling's Card Buffet last night.  Isn't it cute?  Lucky me!  She decorated the top and bottom of the original box by adhering large Real Red hearts cut from our Framelits dies, then embossed the top heart with the Vintage Wallpaper EF.  The smaller hearts are from the More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper, which can be found in the Stampin' Up! Spring catalog.  A Vintage Facted Desiger Button adds just the right finishing touch.

Hope you share a romantic evening with someone you love.  Thanks for stopping in today!

Field Flowers

Hi there!  I'm back....finally!  Hope you've had a good week.  It's been busy here with  friends being hospitalized, visiting friends, preparing for our Card Buffet, and just the day to day stuff.
So, the above card was sent to a friend having surgery.  It is the same concept as others posted previously here except that it is matted and some bling added (pearls colored with a Black Sharpie) and, of course, different colors. The background color is Pretty in Pink.  The Field Flowers stamp set is a 2-step stamp set.  The flowers were first stamped with Pretty in Pink ink, then Rose Red.  The stems and sentiment are in Black ink.  I'm sure the recipient will appreciate the card because she knows I am thinking of her!

Mary Taylor (my friend/downline) and I held our first Card Buffet this past Saturday.  We had such an overwhelming response that we had two sessions!  We have the BEST customers, who are also our friends!  (You can't help not becoming friends with everyone. That's what I love about being a Demonstrator!)  We have a few adjustments to make to our Card Buffet for next month.  Plus our friend, Marla Schack, (Mary's downline and our newest Pieces of Heart team member! Congratulations again ladies!) will join us - adding even more cards and fun!

And if having a successful Card Buffet wasn't enough, my youngest daughter got engaged Saturday morning at the Mardi Gras celebration (held annually in St Louis), which is where they met!  She was totally surprised.  She called me with the news before our Card Buffet started.  What a way to start the day!  Here's a picture of her ring.  I'm so happy for them - they are a great match!
But wait - there's more!  We had the pleasure of having our granddaughter for an overnight visit Saturday!  We don't have many opportunities of overnight visits since she's in school so we cherish them all.  (Like we didn't before?  lol)   I didn't get home from the Card Buffet until after 9 pm. When I walked in, Miss M was sitting in Grandpa's lap listening to a bedtime story.  After I got her into bed (and asleep) I went to Mr Fiance's house to see THE ring.  You know momma had to see it in person and to celebrate the occasion with them!  A lot of his family members and their friends were already there partying (also a post-Mardi Gras celebration).  I didn't get home until around 2 am!  Guess who woke up bright and early Sunday?  Yep, the granddaughter was wide awake at 7:30!  Grandma was a bit sluggish to say the least.  lol  We played "Spa" with her little makeup kit that she brought.  She gave me a foot massage with the lotion.  Wow, that was awesome!  She's really good!

What a jam packed weekend of wonderfulness!  It took me a couple of days to recover!  lol

Now I must sign off to take care of some mundane things before our Pieces of Heart team meeting tonight.  More fun!  Thanks for visiting today and hanging in there for this long post!

Word Play Get Well

Hi there and happy Friday!  Brrrr...it's a cold one today with an expected high of only 26 degrees!  Stamp to stay warm.  lol

Today's get well card is one that's been in my stash for some time.   Unfortunately, I've been needing waaay too many of these cards lately!
The "clip" part of the clipboard was made from a Decorative Label punch and the 1-3/4" and 1" circle punches.  Unfortunately, I'm not sure of the color of cardstock used - might be retired or possibly non-Stampin' Up!  *gasp*
The "chart" was created by drawing lines on white cardstock.  The only stamping is in the middle, which is an image from Word Play.  The inside was left blank for a hand-written note to the recipient.
(Sorry I can't credit the person for the inspiration since I lost those files when my computer "had issues".  Let me know if it was yours so that this post can be edited with your information.)

That's it for now.  Stay warm and thank you so much for stopping in today!
