Morning Meadow

Hi there!  Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.  I sure did!  Loved being with family and the food....oh my!  Yum, yum!  I'm still full.
Just gonna jump right in and tell you about the above card.  I saw this on Sandi MacIver's blog (here) and fell in love with the bright colors.  The images are from the Hostess set Morning Meadow.  Sandi used the swirl image on her card.  It was omitted from my Card Buffet sample.  I also changed the placement of the birthday greeting.

Ink: Daffodil Delight, Black StazOn, Strawberry Slush, Versamark, Black marker

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi there and happy Turkey Day!  Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday!  Love turkey and dressing -  and no pressure of gift giving!
The stamp set used on the above card is Tags 4 You and is paired with Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper.  It was one of the cards I made at Sally, Kim, and Cheryl's Card Buffet.  Here is another one from their Buffet.
The same DSP was used, along with the Harvest of Thanks stamp set.  These items can be found in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  All products in the Holiday catalog will be available until Jan 2, 2014.
Didn't have a chance to post yesterday - had the granddaughter visiting.  She, my brother-in-law, and I played Old Maid.  Boy, it's been a long time since I played that card game!  lol  I taught her how to play War.  Remember that card game?  She enjoyed learning it.
Must go to get ready to feast with the family!
Have a safe holiday and thank you for stopping in for a visit!  I am truly grateful for all of you!

Sketched Birthday

Hi there!  A short post....well, most of my posts will be quick ones while my brother-in-law is staying with us recuperating from hip surgery.  I'm amazed at how well he's getting around.  Anyway, the card above is one that was made at Carla Spradling's Card Buffet.  The images are from the Sketched Birthday set, which is new in the 2013-14 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  The colors are Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, and Summer Starfruit.  A little Dazzling Details was added to the balloons for some bling.  Too cute!

That's all for now folks.  Thanks for stopping in today!

Santa's List

Hi there and happy Monday!  Hope you had a good weekend and you're keeping warm.  We definitely had frost on the ol' pumpkin around here.  Can you believe that Thursday is Thanksgiving?  Yikes!  Then comes the craziness of the Christmas season.  Speaking of which, I have a Christmas card for you today.  The Night of Navy portion with the Santa image flips up to open - a fancy fold.  This fancy fold was inspired by one of the swaps received from Kathy Morales (at least I think it was hers) at a Demonstrator shoebox swap this past summer.

Life in our household has gotten really busy since my brother-in-law is staying with us until he recovers from  hip surgery.  There are several types of therapists making visits.  I'm not sure how often I'll be posting.  Hopefully, the ol' blog won't suffer too much....... I'm just sayin'.

Feeling Sentimental

Hi there!  Popping in real quick before I head to the airport to pick up our niece.  This card was made at Carla Spradling's Card Buffet some months back.  The stamp set was from Sale-a-bration called, Feeling Sentimental.  Sorry it is no longer available through Stampin' Up!  The embossed area was done with the now retired Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.

Rev up the Fun!

Hi there!  Real quick post today as I have an appointment this morning.  The above masculine card  showcasing the Rev up the Fun set was on our Card Buffet display board for a few months.  (This set also has a motorcycle image that could be substituted in place of the car.)  Did you notice that the Artisan punch was used for the "stoplight" along with a 1" circle punch for the centers?   Pretty clever!  I saw it on Brian King's blog here.  One of our customers made this card but instead of stamping the car image directly onto the card base, she stamped it on a scrap piece of cardstock and cut it out.  Dimensionals were used to pop up the car over the tire tracks.  This was how she fixed her little boo boo - a gap between the tire tracks.  Love getting ideas from our customers!

All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Rev up the Fun
Paper: Sahara Sand, Black, Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, Real Red
Ink: Black, Real Red
Tools:  Artisan punch, 1” circle punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig (SAMJ)
Other:  White gel pen, Dimensionals, clear blocks

Fun Fold Birthday Card

Hi there!  Wow, we had some high winds yesterday!  My heart goes out to the families affected by the tornado that hit Washington, IL.  We certainly have been experiencing some crazy weather!
How about a card to change the mood?  The above sample was from our October Card Buffet, which is showcasing the Cycle Celebration stamp set and Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper.  The inspiration for this card came from Aly Schilling.  You can see her card and video here (scroll down to Sep 19 post).

Here is a view of the card opened.
A couple of changes were made to my card - one being the Decorative Label embellishment was positioned across the ribbon to act as a closure.  The card base color was changed, too.  The fold is easier to make than it looks.  Give it a try!

All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Cycle Celebration
Paper: Crisp Cantaloupe, White, Pool Party, Birthday Basics DSP
Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, Raspberry Ripple

It was exciting to be with my daughter last night while she tried on different wedding dresses to find "the one"!  She has a dress in mind but we're going out again Saturday to a couple more places before she makes that important decision.  Met her wedding planner, Renee, who met us at the bridal shop.  Love her!  Renee is such a warm, friendly person and offered valuable input.

OK, that's it for now.  Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by today!

Christmas Collectibles

Hi there!  I'm back with another card made at the Card Buffet last month hosted by Sally Nusbaum, Kim Coulter, and Cheryl Renth.  This is a Z fold card.  (Directions can be found by doing a Google search.)  Three sizes of the Window Frames Collection Framelits were used for the front layers.  The gold layer was cut from Stampin' Up!s foil sheets found in the Holiday catalog (page 28).  The ornament was stamped using an image from the Christmas Collectibles set (page 35 of the Holiday catalog), then punched out with the Christmas Ornament punch.  As in yesterday's card, the envelope is lined to coordinate with the card.

That's all for now.  Must pack up for our Card Buffet at DeLeo's tomorrow.  Have a great weekend and thank you so much for stopping in today!

Color Me Christmas

Hi there!  Today I'm sharing a card I made at the Card Buffet hosted by Sally Nusbaum, Kim Coulter, and Cheryl Renth last month.  When I first saw the Color Me Christmas set in the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog, it didn't appeal to me.  Since then, I've had a change of heart.  There have been so many cute cards made with this set posted on the internet!  Love this sentiment from Christmas Messages, too!  The card base was cut from our Circle Thinlits die.  Below is what the card looks like open.
Notice the lined envelope?  We used the new Envelope Liners Framelit die to make the liner, which can be found on page 37 of the Holiday catalog.  (You can peruse the catalog by clicking on the picture of the Holiday catalog on the right side bar.)  The Season of Style Designer Series Paper was used for both the card and envelope.

Must run for now.  Thanks for stopping in today!

Simply Sketched 3x3

Hi there!  Hope you're finding time to stamp on this wet, dreary day!  I'll be busy with some neglected chores around the house and maybe a trip to the store.  But for now, here is a forgotten little 3x3 card that was included with customer orders back in August.  I thought it had been posted.  The flower and sentiment come from the hostess set, Simply Sketched.  An Aqua Painter pen was used to apply Calypso Coral ink onto the watercolor paper.  Tangerine Tango ink was sparingly added for some depth.  The stems were colored with Old Olive ink.

Before I sign off, you can view this week's Weekly Deals by clicking here to view (prices good Nov 5-11, 2013).  Please contact me if you'd like to place an order or go to my online store here to place an order.

Have a great day and thank you for stopping by for a visit!

Papillon Potpourri meets Venetian Romance

Hi there!  Well, I meant to post yesterday but life took a different route.  So I'll just jump right in with today's card from our August Card Buffet sample board.  It was a popular card and remained on the board for several months.  Not everyone used it as a sympathy card, either.  That's one of the great things about card making - you can change the sentiment for the ocassion.

All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Loving Thoughts, Thoughts & Prayers (Sharing in your sorrow-inside)
Paper: Pistachio Pudding, Vanilla, Venetian Romance DSP
Ink: Pistachio Pudding

November "Best of" Stamp Set & Oct 3x3

Hi there and happy Friday and a new month!  Can't believe we're in November already!  A new month also means a new "Best of..." stamp set.  This month is Best of Snow (above).  You can view all of the sets by clicking here.  Please contact me if you'd like to order this set or any other products.  You may also order directly from my online store here.  Thanks in advance!

This little 3x3 note was slipped into my customers order bags during the month of October.  It's a small way for me to thank them for their support.  The pumpkin was made by punching out 3 circles, folding them in half and adhering together.  I used our new Envelope Punch Board to make a coordinating envelope.  The sentiment is from Delightful Dozen.

That's it for now.  Hope you have a great weekend and thank you for visiting today!
