Top Note Grinch and Treats

Hi there!  Are ready to ring in the New Year?  Where did the year go????  Well, I'm gonna wrap up the year with one last Christmas card.  For several years I've wanted to make a Grinch card and this year it finally came to fruition.  My inspiration came from Chris Twing.  You can view her video here.

Thought I'd also share the treats received from the Christmas party that Sally Nusbaum organized but was cancelled because of snow.  Kim Coulter made these cute treat holders.  The Santa is a container of Tic Tacs and the other little goodie is a lip balm holder.  Aren't they adorable?!

The last treat, one of which was given to our granddaughter, is a cello bag of cookies sporting some elf legs.  Grandma's cookies are even better when they're presented in a cute way don't ya think?
That's it for this year!  Have a safe and Happy New Year and as always, thanks for stopping in today!

Postage Due

Hi there!  I'm back with another vintage card and the last sample from our Christmas Card Workshop.  The "poinsettia" was assembled from pieces punched out with the Mosaic punch.  A bit of texture was added to the flower "petals" by using the Petals a Plenty embossing folder.  Everything has been distressed with Soft Suede ink.  Using a 1-1/4" circle base to build the flower makes the process much easier.  Begin with four "petals" positioned North, South, East, and West with the tips of the "petals" meeting at approximately the middle point of the circle.  The top layer of "petals" are offset.  A Champagne Glimmer flower adds some bling to the center and hides the points underneath.  Adhere the "leaves" to the back of the circle.  The "poinsettia" is then adhered to the card base with Dimensionals.

All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Post Card, Teeny Tiny Wishes (outside greeting), More Merry Messages (inside greeting)
Paper: Always Artichoke, Real Red, Soft Suede, Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer
Ink: Real Red, Soft Suede
Tools: 1-1/4” circle punch, Mosaic Punch, Petals a Plenty EF, flower from Itty Bitty pack
Other:  Soft Suede Taffeta ribbon, sponges, glue dots, Dimensionals

Santa's List

Hi there!  I was out earlier running errands and I couldn't believe how warm it was!  It was in the upper 60's!  But the temps are dropping as the day progresses.  It will be winter weather again real soon.  lol
This vintage card is another sample from our Christmas Card Buffet.  The Real Red background layer was embossed with the Pretty Print embossing folder found in the Stampin' Up! 2013 Holiday Catalog (pg 24).  The stamp set is Santa's List, which is mounted on one of our paper doilies.  Some Soft Suede taffeta ribbon adds the finishing touch.
Products in the Holiday Catalog are available until Jan 2, 2014.  If you wish to place an order, please contact me (info in the right side bar) or go here to my online store  Thank you!

Hope you're enjoying the hustle and bustle of the season.  Thanks for taking time to stop by today!

Festive Flurry Frost

Hi there!  Hope you're ready for Christmas.  We're less than 10 days away!  It's supposed to get up to fifty degrees today so I'll be out among the masses.  Before I go, here's another card from our Christmas Card Workshop.  The snowflakes were cut out with Stampin' Up!s Festive Flurry Framelits and popped up on Dimensionals over Winter Frost Designer Series Paper.  Silver Encore ink was used to stamp the sentiment from the Petite Pairs set.

Last night we attended our granddaughter's school Christmas program, which had been cancelled Saturday because of the weather.  It was cute.  I was so glad it was rescheduled.  Everyone worked hard to learn their lines and the songs.
Must run now.  Thanks for peeking in today!

Mosaic Madness Christmas

Hi there!  Woke up to a winter wonderland of snow!  It sure is beautiful, however, my plans for today have been cancelled.  Sooooo, I'll post a card from our Christmas Card Workshop held earlier this year.  (Realized I never did post the cards.  Oops!)  This CAS (Clean And Simple) design was made using Stampin' Up!s Mosaic Madness stamp set and coordinating punch.  The sentiment is from More Merry Messages.  A little bit of paper piercing dresses up the corners.  Amazing what a difference that makes!

Stay warm and thank you for stopping by today!

Masked Wetlands and Clearance Rack Blitz

Hi there!  I'm back today with an experiment using masking tape on a card.  I did this card a few months ago but overlooked posting it.  This technique is all over the internet right now and it's fun to do, but a little messy so you may want to wear gloves.  Begin with a strip of masking tape (long enough to hold each end as "handles") and tap/gently press tape onto ink pad to soak up some ink, then press onto cardstock.  Repeat process using a different strip of masking tape for each color.  Stamp desired image(s) once the background is complete.  I actually stamped the goose onto the background, then stamped him again onto a scrap piece of cardstock and cut him out.  He is popped up on Dimensionals.  Don't worry about cutting out his legs!  They'll show up from the image stamped directly onto the cardstock.  Hope you give this technique a try!

Now on to some business....Stampin' Up! has a Clearance Rack Blitz going on right now with some items discounted as much as 80%!!!  Click here to view all of the clearance items in my online store.  Please contact me if you'd like to order anything.  You may also place an online order.  Thank you!

Perfectly Penned Birthday

Hi there!  Well, Monday got away from me without a post.  It sure was cold, too!  Brrrr!  My brother-in-law (who is staying with us until he recovers from hip surgery) had three doctor appointments yesterday.  I had to go to the store after he was in the house.  But you didn't come here for the blah, blah, blah.  Here is the skinny on the above card.  This is a quick card, which made an appearance on our Card Buffet.

Joy to the World

Hi there!  Been in bed the last two days with some sort of crud, but now I'm back!  And we have snow!  We're supposed to get more later today according to the forecast.  Tomorrow is our Christmas party that Sally Nusbaum is organizing again this year.  Can't wait to see everyone!  The weather will keep some from attending - like Pam D'Urso.  It's been so long since we've seen her and that makes me sad that she won't be able to join us.
So in the holiday spirit, let's move on to the above card that was on our Card Buffet last month.  This was an easy card and seemed to be popular at the Buffet since there weren't any kits left.

All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Joy to the World, Special Season (tree & pine cone images), World Map, The Open Sea (world image for inside)
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, White
Ink: Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke marker, Soft Suede Marker

Stay warm and have a great weekend.  Thanks for stopping by today!
