Good Thoughts

Hi there!  Hope you had a good weekend.  Mine was busy with the granddaughter here and trying to get packed for my trip.  I leave today for FL to spend Thanksgiving with my oldest daughter.  The hubs will be here to hold down the fort.  Thought I'd have a chance to schedule some posts but that didn't happen.  Before I go, though, here is another card made with bits and pieces of projects that weren't used for one reason or another.  The sentiment is from Perfect Pennants by Stampin' Up!   Not sure about the name of set for the butterfly.  Sorry!

Must get going.  I shall return next week.  Enjoy your Thanksgiving and thank you for dropping by   today!

Watercolor Happy

Hi there and happy Friday!  Quick post so I can finish a few things around here before heading out early to our Demonstrator holiday party that Sally Nusbaum has organized for this evening!  Woo Hoo!
So, here is another card using a portion of the watercolor background made with the Decorative Dots embossing folder.  You can see how that was done HERE.  The sentiment from the Yippee-Skippee! stamp set by Stampin' Up! is layered onto Pool Party and Pumpkin Pie mats cut out with the Deco Label Framelits.  A Pumpkin Pie sawtooth border strip was made using the Finishing Touches Edgelit.  The Rich Razzelberry card base contrasts nicely with all the colors (and a color that has been neglected lately).  A bit of Pool Party 1/4" Cotton Ribbon finishes off the card.  This ribbon is really nice to work with, too!

Must get going.  Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for stopping in today!

Dapper News

Hi there!  It's warming up around here - mostly in the 40's now that the furnace has been fixed!  Lol  It would cycle intermittently and usually not at night.  When it stopped, we had to flip the switch off and on to get it cycling again.  Another part was replaced so it's all good now!

Sharing another card made this past weekend using the Dapper Dad set from Stampin' Up!  The Vanilla cardstock was cut down the middle about an inch, then folded back to make the shirt collar.  The bow tie image was stamped in Marina Mist and cut out.  A sentiment from Big News was added at the neckline.  A three-fourths inch circle punch was used for the buttons.  The strip of Soft Suede cardstock at the bottom (which sort of resembles a belt without a buckle) was embossed with the Argyle embossing folder.

That's it!  Need to run errands and work on some things that didn't get finished yesterday with the furnace man here all morning.  Thank you for coming by today!

Watercolor Birthday

Hi there!  So, here is a card that I made from parts that were left over from other projects or experimental pieces.  The background was made by sponging on a few ink colors onto the inside of an embossing folder, then spritzing with water.  Place a piece of watercolor paper or light colored cardstock on top of ink and rub with your fingers.  Remove paper from the embossing folder.  Voila!  You have a cool looking background!  The Honeycomb embossing folder by Stampin' Up! was used in this sample.  An embellishment was made with the Cupcake Builder Punch and circle punches.  A few banners were added for a festive look.  (The colors look much better in real life than they do in the photo.)

A big THANKS to everyone who braved the cold to attend our Card Buffet yesterday!  We appreciate your support - but mostly your friendship!

Must get a few things done before running some errands.  Thanks for peeking in today!

Dapper Argyle

Hi there!  A real quick post to share one of the cards I made this past weekend.  Cold and snow equate to a good time to stamp!  This set by Stampin' Up! called Dapper Dad is a retired set.  I've always liked this set.  Fortunately for me, another Demonstrator was selling a bunch of her retired stamps and this set needed to reside on the shelf in my home.  Lol  The sentiment is from Remembering Your Birthday, which is a current set.  Another retired item is the Night and Day Designer Series Paper.  (Trying to use up some retired paper.)  My brother-in-law will be the recipient of this card since his birthday is Thursday.

Don't forget to check out this week's deals.  Click on the WEEKLY DEALS logo in the upper right side bar to see what is on sale this week.

Must get going to our Card Buffet.  Thank you so much for stopping in today!

Razzle,Dazzle Purse

Hi there!  Is it Winter already?  We got about 2 inches of snow yesterday!  It's not even Thanksgiving yet!  What's up with that?  Wednesday our furnace went out (isn't that always the way when it's really cold?).  Bright and early Thursday morning I made calls to find someone to come repair it.  We were actually thinking about replacing the furnace until the guy said it wouldn't be installed until this week.  I don't think so!  A new part was needed, which the repairman had delivered here.  Unfortunately, it didn't fit so we had to go another day without heat until the right part was obtained!  Friday I already had a brunch date planned with some friends.  Let me tell you, getting ready was no picnic - especially getting in and out of the shower!  Brrrr!  When I returned later in the day, we had heat!  Yes, finally!!!

OK, time to tell you about this adorable little purse, which was made with a paper bag!  You can watch the video directions HERE on Kristin Wilson's blog.  It's easy to make and has a lot of WOW factor.  The fastener/closure was made with the 1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch by Stampin' Up! using Rich Razzleberry cardstock.  Hadn't used that color forever!  The starburst (or sun) image from Kinda Eclectic was stamped using Rich Razzleberry ink on a scrap of white cardstock.  The center portion of the image was then punched out with a 1" Circle Punch and adhered to the scallop circle.  Of course, a rhinestone had to be added for some bling.  It was just the right accent.  A girls gotta have her bling!  The embossed panel was achieved with the Lovely Lace embossing folder from Stampin' Up!  I've had this folder for several months now - had to blow off the dust.  Lol  This was the first time to use it.  Love it!

That's it for now.  Come back tomorrow and the next few days to check out some projects that I was able to complete over the weekend.  Thanks for stopping by today!  You're always welcome here!

Baroque Watercolor Background

Hi there!  Today's card is using a watercolor background that I made months ago with the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder from Stampin' Up!  This look was achieved by sponging several ink colors onto one side of the embossing folder - a sponge dauber works best for this, then lightly spritzed with some water.  (The ink colors used in the sample are Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, and Coastal Cabana.)  Lay a piece of watercolor paper (cardstock works, too) onto the inked side of the embossing folder.  Do not close the embossing folder.  Rub the back of the paper with your fingers to distribute the ink.  Remove the paper and let dry before using on a project.  Each side of the emobssing folder will give you a different look.  Be sure to rinse off the embossing folder under running tap water.
The flower embellishment was made with several flower punches and the Flower Fair Framelits.  A pearl was added for a finishing touch.
Hope you're inspired to try this technique.  It's a lot of fun and no two panels are alike.

That's all folks!  Thanks for coming by for a visit today!

Bright and Beautiful & More

Hi there!  Sorry that I've been absent the last couple of days.  Been busy with other things called life.  Today I'm sharing samples from the Christmas Card Workshop our team hosted on two different days and locations.  The above card was designed by team member, Cheryl Renth.  She used the Bright and Beautiful stamp set from the Stampin' Up! 2014 Holiday Catalog.  Cheryl chose a rich color palette of Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey.

The next card is by Jayne Singleton.  She used a retired set, Come to Bethlehem, in Night of Navy.
Just the right amount of pizzazz was added with the Silver Glimmer banner and a rhinestone in the center of the star.  A stunning card in real life.

Punched out circles make up the tree for Kim Coulter's card.  She also added some bling by using Champagne Glimmer paper for some of the circles and the star.
The "Merry Christmas" stamp can be found in the Sassy Salutations set, which contains sentiments for several occasions in this same whimsical font.

Who doesn't love snowmen?  Mary Taylor created this darling guy!
Mary used the Top Note Bigz die for this adorable guy.  The Soft Sky background was textured with the Decorative Dots embossing folder, whereas, the Delicate Designs and Fancy Fan embossing folders were used on the hat.

Sally Nusbaum's card was erroneously left out of my samples.  She used the Endless Wishes set.  I'll post her card whenever I receive it.  My card was in an earlier post that can be seen here.

That does it for this week.  Hope you have a great weekend and thanks so much for stopping in today!

Weekly Deals & Thank You!

Hi there!  It's a gray and rainy day.  What a complete change from yesterday!  That's St. Louis weather for ya!  Spent most of yesterday morning and afternoon running errands with our son and a family dinner at a local restaurant that evening to celebrate his birthday.  It was nice to have our whole family together again.  That doesn't happen often since everyone is so busy.  But enough about that.  Let's get to the reason you came here.....to see ideas.
The above photo is a 3x3 thank you note card made from the Ornamental Pine stamp set by Stampin' Up!  Love this set!  Each month a little note card is slipped into my customer's order bags or mailed to those who placed an on-line order.  These note cards are just a very small token of my appreciation to my customers!  This was the note card for October orders, which also has a sentiment from the And Many More set.  Such a versatile set!  See it here.  It contains sentiments for almost every ocassion.

Today new WEEKLY DEALS are available through Nov 10!  Click here to see what you can purchase at discounted prices!  Just contact me to place an order for you, or you may do it on-line.  Either way, I'd appreciate your business!  Thank you in advance!

Must get going to vote today and spend a little more time with our son before he heads back home.  Thank you so much for popping in today!
