Springtime Vintage and Elements of Style Samples

Hi there.  Popping in real quick to show you another card (sample #3). The layout for this  card was inspired by Saturday Sketch Challenge (SSC194) on Stamping 411. Go to the March 11 post here if you'd like to see the sketch.  I cut the Not Quite Navy Curly Label in half, then adhered them to the ends of the sentiment to give the illusion of a mat.

Recipe
Stamps: Easter Blossoms
Paper: Very Vanilla, Not Quite Navy, Springtime Vintage DSP, vellum
Ink: Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy ink pad & marker, Baja Breeze
Tools: Curly Label punch, distressing tool, Beautiful Wings Embosslit die
Other: Victoria 5/8" crochet trim, Basic Pearls

Sample #4 was inspired by Andrea Walford's post on Mar 7 (click here).  I just changed a couple of things - otherwise it's the same as her card.

Recipe
Stamps: Elements of Style, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Thoughts and Prayers (inside sentiment)
Paper: Early Espresso, Rose Red, Crumb Cake, Deck the Halls DSP (retired)
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Tools: Large oval punch, Scallop oval punch, mat pack
Other: Rose Red 1" double stitched grosgrain ribbon (Clearance Rack item-retired)

Thanks for stopping by. Now it's time for me to go to bed.

Unique Technique - Sample #2

Hi there! Here is another sample from my March Stamp Camp.
This card was inspired by Beth Crocker's blog post March 5, 2011 here.  I changed the stamp set and color.  The way she used the crimping tool (explained on her blog) gave this card a unique look.

Recipe
Stamps:  Just Believe
Paper:  Not Quite Navy, White
Ink:  Not Quite Navy
Tools: Crimper

Just a reminder that this is the LAST week for Sale-a-bration!  If there is anything you would like to order, please contact me (links are located on the right side bar).  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

March Madness

Hi there.  Boy, it has been so busy lately and we've had some crazy weather! Tue and Wed was shorts weather (for some people) and then it turned cold Wed night. We had about 2 inches of snow yesterday, which is mostly melted today.  It gets tricky dressing for the weather these  days!  Oh well.
I said I would post samples from Stamp Camp.  Here is sample 1. This photo is what the Twisted Easel card looks like closed.
This funky fold was inspired by Beth Crocker's blog here (Feb 22 blog post has a video tutorial) and Laura Lipe, where you can get directions here on her March 13 blog post.
This is the card open. Below is a close up of the "golf ball" which was made using the debossed side of the punched circle.
Recipe
Stamps: On the Green, Something to Celebrate - inside sentiment (Level 2 Hostess set from Occasions mini)
Paper:  White, Garden Green, Regals DSP Stack
Ink:  Garden Green, Sahara Sand
Tools: 1-3/4" circle punch, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, fringe scissors (non-SU!)

That's all for today. Check back tomorrow for another sample. I need to get to bed since I am "on call" to babysit early in the morning if our granddaughter is still sick.  Thanks for stopping by!

Sneak Peek March Stamp Camp

Hello friends.  Just wanted to stop by briefly to post a little sneak peek of the cards we'll be making at Stamp  Camp tomorrow.  Hopefully, I'll be back with more photos this weekend.  I still need to get tax information together.  Ugh!  After that, I can breathe a big sigh of relief!  OK enough of that ... here are the cards.
There you have it.  Now I must make my exit to finish getting ready for tomorrow.  I'll be back!  Thanks for stopping by.

Back from Branson

Hi everyone!  Sorry for being gone for so long.  Boy, do I have a whole new appreciation for everyone who blogs daily!  Life and illness took precedence.
My trip to Branson was a blast!  Can you believe that I've never been there before?  It's a neat place and from what I hear, the traffic is horrendous during peak season.  So it was good to go in Feb.  Funny story about our stop at McD's in Lebanon, MO. Three from our group went into the ladies room.  I waited for someone to come out - figuring the restroom probably didn't have more than three stalls.  It seemed to take them forever so I decided to investigate.  Well, the girls were crowded around the sinks and laughing.  Let me tell you these sinks are NOT the usual sinks you see that are activated by motion sensors.  First of all, the sinks were in the wall!  You put your hands into this hollowed out area in the wall and wait for the soap to dispense, then the water, and then the blow dryer!  The hot air coming from the sink blew our minds (no pun intended).  Too funny!  One of the girls commented that it's pretty bad when you have to read directions just to wash your hands.  Some of us were having problems rinsing off all of the soap.  So we had to wait for the whole cycle (including more soap) before the "rinse cycle" came back on.  I wasn't impressed with this technology.  (sorry)  I know it's to prevent the spread of germs but it really didn't seem too efficient.  It was pretty frustrating, actually, but we all had a good laugh about it!
When we got to Branson we walked through Dick's 5 & 10 (talk about nostalgia!) then walked up the street to have lunch at the Farmhouse.  My patty melt was delicious.  Drinks were served in Mason quart jars.  Now that's a drink!  We met some nice ladies from Arkansas who stopped to chat with us on their way out of the restaurant. (They could tell from our conversation we were SU! Demos.  Hi Donna and Rhonda!)

Here are our new BFF's from the restaurant.  (L-R) Rhonda, Donna, and Ann Marie (I think -sorry!)

We made sure we had time to swap cards with other Demos before registration at 12:30.  That's was so fun and exciting - like a feeding frenzy in the hallway. lol  Too bad I didn't get any pictures of that.

                                               Display board samples

Above are samples of some of the presentations made with products out of the Occasions Mini Catalog

There were a lot of samples posted on display boards, the presentations were informative, we did some make n takes, and we got FREE stuff (woohoo!)  We were given 30 minutes to complete the make n takes, which was a bit stressful to do the four projects.  We decided to finish them later - just stamp or cut the necessary pieces using the supplies provided that we didn't already own.  The plan was to assemble the projects later that evening. That didn't happen after going to the Cantina Laredo for dinner.  Can you say margaritas?
After dinner we walked around the Landing a little bit before going back to the hotel. It was about 10 pm when we decided to call it a day.  It felt like 1 am since most of us got up at 3 or 4 am.  It was a long day but a FUN day!
On our way home we stopped at Lambert's Cafe for lunch - you know, home of the throwed rolls.  I love that place!  Sure was some good eatin'.  It was a great trip and we made it home safe and sound.  A big thanks to Jayne for driving.
More samples from Regional and my Camp to be posted soon.

Thanks for hanging in there with me on this long post and for stopping by today!
