Gettin' Nautical

Hi there!  Shocked to see a post from me on Saturday?  Don't get used to it!  lol

Today I have another masculine card to share with you.  I've had it in my stash for some time now (made at one of Pam D'Urso's Demo Stamp Camps before she moved) and decided to send it to our nephew-in-law, who is into boating.   I think he'll appreciate it!  The Sail Away stamp set (from the 2011 Summer Mini catalog) is now retired - as well as the Nautical Expedition DSP and game spinner hands.  The compass image is from the Open Sea set.  How clever of Pam to use a game spinner hand on the compass!

I'm off to Pieces of Heart Demo friend, Jayne Singleton's "Christmas Cards for Soldiers" event.  Thank you so much for peeking in today!

Best Dad Ever

Hi there!
September is full of birthdays.  I needed a couple of masculine cards to send out.  This one was made at Pam D'Urso's Demo Stamp Camp a few months ago.  I saved it just for this occasion.  It is made from the Best Dad Ever set, which can be found in the current IBC (Idea Book & Catalog).

The ties were heat embossed with Black embossing powder.  The focal image was adhered to First Edition DSP, which was distressed a bit then glued to a Black mat.  The card base is Very Vanilla.  Doesn't that pearl on the single tie add just the right touch?

On my way to meet some friends for lunch.  Thanks for coming by today!

To a Classic Get Well

Happy Monday to you!  Hope you had a great weekend.  Mine was another busy one but a fun one.  Had the granddaughter overnight Fri until Sat morning.  Later that evening I picked up my sister-in-law from the airport.  She spent the night so we had a wonderful time visiting and catching up.  Sunday we drove to Alton to meet up with her sister and BIL.  They were taking her home - about a 2 hour drive.  Before they headed out, we had brunch at Mac's on Third St.  It's a sports bar atmosphere.  The interior just rambled on -  it didn't look that big from the outside.  The brunch buffet was delish, too.
I'm off and running this morning but wanted to stop long enough to post a card that was sent to a friend's husband after his surgery.
Had this card that I saved after making it at Pam D'Urso's Demo Stamp Camp.  Well...the opportunity presented itself for the need of a masculine get well card.  So glad I had one!  The stamp set was in the previous catalog and is now retired.  Sorry.  Those cute Trinket Keys are available, though, and can be used in many ways - a new driver, a new house, key to my heart to name a few.

Sorry for the short post.  Need to scoot.  Have a great day and thank you for stopping by today!

The Open Sea and the Clock is Ticking!

Hi there.  We're experiencing another HOT day.  Ugh!  It just zaps the energy right out of a person when you go out - or at least out of me.  lol

Hurry - the clock is ticking!  You only have until Sunday to take advantage of the $99 Starter Kit promotion.  If you'd like to have fun while earning some cash, join the Stampin' Up! family!  To do so, go to my SU! website here.  It may be the best thing you ever did for yourself!

Thought I'd post another masculine card that went out this month.  This card was one of our projects at Pam's Demo Stamp Camp back in May, and was perfect for the recipient I had in mind.

The base is Crumb Cake, then a layer of textured Not Quite Navy.  The stripe was cut from the gray striped pattern of the Nautical Expedition DSP (a Clipper is on the other side).  Wasn't that clever of Pam?  The round map on the focal piece was stamped with Crumb Cake ink.  The anchor was then stamped over it using Early Espresso ink and a knot was tied with our new Baker's twine. (Love it!)  The square was matted on Early Espresso then adhered to the card base.  A very nice masculine card.

Need to finish packing up the rest of my stuff for Stamp Camp tomorrow.  I have a couple of slots left if you'd like to join us and live in the St. Louis metro area.  Contact information is on the right side bar.  (I'll post pics of the cards as soon as possible.)

Stay cool and thank you for stopping in today!

Happy New Year!

In the Stampin' Up! world, that is.  Today the 2011-2012 IBC (Inspiration Book & Catalog) goes live.  This will be a short post since I know it will be crazy busy today having an Open House.  Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Oh, and here is the last card the girls made this past Saturday at Stamp Camp. It is a buckle card using the Pick a Petal stamp set - another favorite of mine.  I sound like a broken record, huh?  Gosh, it occurred to me that the younger generation may not even know about records - as in vinyl.  Showing my age here.  lol

May Demo Stamp Camp Samples

Hi everyone!  Hope you had an awesome weekend.  Mine was pretty busy.  Spent Friday at a crop from 10 am until 11 pm.  Our granddaughter spent the night and was asleep when I got home.  Grandpa enjoyed his quality time with her while I was cropping.  Saturday Granddaughter and I played until her parents came to pick her up.  I then went to have my car door window repaired.  It is a mystery as to how it shattered.  Poor car was minding it's own business just sitting in the driveway!  Sunday I ran a couple of errands before our Demo Stamp Camp at Pam's.  The projects were great, the food was great,  but most of all the company was great!  I love hanging out with these ladies!  Wanna see what we did?  Here are three of the masculine cards we made.  Pam always has awesome projects!

Best Dad Ever set from 2011 Summer mini & First Edition DSP (carryover item from Occasions mini)  The ties were heat embossed.  Doesn't that pearl just set off the tie?  Too cute!

Travel Log stamp set from 2011 Summer mini (notice the Trinket Key - another carryover item)

Engraved Greetings set (IBC -  big catalog) & First Edition DSP

Must sign off for now.  Hope you have a great day.  Thanks for stopping by!
