Serene Smile

Hi there and happy Friday!  Hope you had a great week.  Last night was our Card Buffet at Rizzo's in O'Fallon and we had a great turn out and a lot of fun!  Thanks ladies for making it a success!  Tomorrow we'll be at DeLeo's in Florissant.  More fun, fun, fun!
OK, now for the details about today's card.  The flower image is from the Serene Silouettes set.  I must confess that this image hasn't been out of the case hardly at all.  It was probably feeling very neglected.  It's a wonderful image that I'll start using more often.  First though, a stencil was cut from an Apothecary Framelit and temporarily secured to the white panel.  Perfect Plum ink was sponged on - lightly.  The flower image was inked up with Raspberry Ripple and Old Olive markers.  Give your stamp a little huff to remoisten the ink, then stamp onto the center of the stenciled area.  The litte embellishment was made from the new A Round Array set and coordinating scallop circle punches.  Mat the white focal piece onto an Old Olive card base and you're done.  Easy peasy!  This was one of the cards showcased at Carla Spradling Card Buffet.  It was perfect for sending a note to a sweet friend - 'cause she does make me smile!

All Stampin' Up supplies were used.

That's it for now.  Have a great weekend and I'll be back Monday.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Fabulous Florets

Hi there!  Hope you're having a fabulous week so far.

Thought you might want to see a card.  They've been few and far between lately!  The flower image in the card below was colored with a Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write marker.  It came out looking burgundy so Bravo Burgundy was used as an accent.  Started adding white dots with a Signo gel pen, but didn't care for the way they looked.

The color wasn't what I was going for, either, so I decided to try Real Red.  That worked out more to my liking.  Here is the Real Red version - and no white dots:

Much better!  My card base and focal piece is Sahara Sand. First the flowers were stamped with Whisper White craft ink.  They were stamped again using Black ink and offset a bit, then colored in with the Real Red Stampin' Write marker.

Want to see my inspiration?

Yep. ............ a tissue box!  I obviously was attracted to the graphics on the box when I purchased them.  This box has been sitting on my computer desk in my line of vision whenever I'm on the computer - which is a LOT.  Then one day it hit me that the design and colors would make a great card - just had to figure out what stamp set to use.  Fabulous Florets was as close to the box image that I could get.  Just goes to show you - you never know where inspiration may come from!

Hope you have a wonderful week.  Thanks for stopping by!

Creative Elements

Hi there!  I'm back...  Sorry for my absence.  It's been crazy and not looking like things will let up until after the holidays.  Today I hung out with my stampin' peeps so I'll share a card with you.  Hopefully, that will make up for my neglected blog!  lol  This will be short and sweet so I can get to bed.

I used the flourish from the Creative Elements set and stamped the Very Vanilla Top Note piece in Early Espresso.  Added some color with Stampin' Write markers (Old Olive, Cajun Craze, and Calypso Coral).  Sponged in some Soft Suede and Calypso Coral. The flowers have some Cajun Craze daubed in the ceters and penwork, too.  The flowers were cut out and popped up with dimensionals. The leaves are from the Bird punch.  The focal piece is adhered to a distressed Calypso Coral panel and  the card base is Old Olive.  OK, I'm off to bed.  Thank you so much or stopping in today.  Have a great weekend.!
