Sunflowers

Hi there!  A version of today's card is one I had seen ages ago but only got around to making a couple of months ago.   Some of the Stampin' Up! punches used and the sentiment stamp set have since retired.  The Rose Garden Thinlits used for the leaves are still current, though!

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by!

Drapery Fold Technique

Hi there!  Boy, this week sure flew by!  So without further adieu, let's get to the card.  The "drapery" fold technique seems to be all the rage on Pinterest , so I decided to give it a try.  I used some retired Designer Series Paper called, Twitterpated for the "drapery".  Unfortunately, the fold doesn't show up very well in the photo.  The flower was made using the Botanical Builder Framelits, which can be found in the 2016 Stampin' Up! Ocassions Catalog.  The sentiment is from the Wetlands set. One of my favorite sets.

Better get this posted before it's tomorrow.  Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping in today!

What I Love

Hi there!  Have you been fooled by anyone on this April Fool's Day?  lol    Well, no jokes here about todays card, which was CASE'd from one that Lisa Young posted HERE (Mar 19th post).  Love the color combination!  The What I Love set used was a Sale-A-Bration freebie and no longer available.
I stamped a cluster of three flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black ink after sponging an arc of Soft Sky ink.  Instead of Washi tape, I chose to mat the stamped panel onto Black before adhering to the Bermuda Bay card base.  The sentiment added the finishing touch.

Must get back to packing for an all day crop with my stamping peeps.  Have a great weekend and thank you for coming by today!

It's Your Day Golf

Hi there!   Todays card is an easy punch art card for all those golfer's in your life.   Julia Leece's card HERE was my inspiration, with a couple of minor modifications.  I used a Soft Sky card base and a different sentiment, which is from the Fabulous Four set by Stampin' Up!  The golf club is from a scrap of Smoky Slate cardstock.  I used the same retired embossing folders that Julia used for the golf club and ball.  Why mess with what works?

Must get back to a couple of projects - one of them being the dreaded taxes!  Ugh!  Thank you for stopping in for a look today!  Your visits are always appreciated!

Awesomely Artistic Thoughts

Hi there!  Today's card is one that was made months ago and overlooked for posting, so I'm sharing with you now.  The card design was CASE'd (Copy And Share Everything) from Deb Valder's card HERE.  The flower image from the Stampin' Up! set, Awesomely Artistic, was randomly stamped onto the card base in black ink.  A separate flower image was stamped on a piece of scrap white, water colored with an Aqua Painter, and then cut out before adhering to the focal piece.  The colors used were Marina Mist and Pear Pizzazz.  The circle medallion image was popped up on Dimensionals.

OK, need to sign off since the granddog is wanting some attention now.  Thanks for visiting today!

Wild Flowers

Inspiration: Laurie Unger

Hi there and happy Monday - as well as happy February!  Gosh, I didn't realize how much time had passed since my last post!  Sorry, but life sometimes takes precedence over blogging.  (Gasp!)
The card featured above was designed with the Wild About Flowers set by Stampin' Up! and was one of the selections at my Card Buffet.  Love, love, love this set!  The colors are Elegant Eggplant and Smoky Slate.  A bit of dimension was added to the strip of Smoky Slate by using the Fluttering embossing folder.  The color palette and simplicity of this card makes it possible to use as a birthday card, as well as a sympathy card.

Need to get busy on a project.  Thank you so much for coming by today!

Basic Swallowtail Butterfly

Hi there and happy Monday!  Hope you all had a happy holiday!  Can you believe we're almost at the end of another year?  The year flew by!
Yesterday I mentioned that I'd  have a sample from Club.  It is similar to a post from this past summer but an image from the new 2015 Occasion Catalog was incorporated into the mix.  The out-of-the-box technique shown in Dawn Griffith's video is one that I felt the girls would like to learn.  You can view her video HERE.  The background was made by stamping the fern image from Butterfly Basics.  This is a new set appearing in the 2015 Occasions Catalog, which goes live January 6.  (You are gonna love this new catalog!)
Must get going since the granddaughter is still here.  Thanks for coming by for a visit today!

Butterfly Basics Sneak Peek

Hi there!  Hope everyone had a great weekend.  Seems that a lot of people are sick, though.  It's bad enough being sick, but at this time of year.....doubly bad!
This past weekend I spent a little time in the studio and played around with the new Butterfly Basics set from Stampin' Up!, which is in the new 2014 Occasions Catalog.  Loving this set!  (Actually, there are a bunch of awesome products in the new catalog AND in the Sale-A-Bration brochure!  Just sayin')  Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Blendabilities were used to color the flowers.  I didn't spend much time coloring/shading, just quick strokes to fill in the petals and leaves.  At first, I was going to leave the flowers as they were (stamped in black).  They just didn't look right and were begging for color!  Lol  That really made a difference.

OK, must run to an appointment.  Thanks for stopping in today!

Kind Koala

Hi there!  Hope your week is going well.  The card I'm sharing today was a popular Card Buffet selection.  This little koala image by Stampin' Up! is just so CA-ute!  How could you NOT love it?  The colors of Baked Brown Sugar and Blushing Bride look so good together, too.  Inspiration for my card came from the very talented Chat Wszelaki as seen HERE (posted July 23rd).  To make the card my own, different colors and supplies were used.

That's it!  Thank you for visiting!  Your visits are always a welcomed pleasure!

Falling Leaves Hi

Hi there and happy Friday!  It isn't officially winter yet, so here is a fall looking card that appeared on our Card Buffet display board.  The leaf images are from Fall Fest, which can be found in the 2014 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  Inspiration for this card came from Vicky Hayes.  See her version HERE.  You can see that there are only a couple of differences, like the base color and sentiment.  Why mess with perfection?  The "Hi" sentiment from Regarding Dahlias used on my card makes it versatile enough to use for several occasions.

It's short and sweet today.  Lots to do.  Have a great weekend and thank you for peeking in today!

By the Tide Triple Time

Hi there!  This evening is the Stampin' Up! Catalog Kickoff simulcast event held at the Gravois Bluffs movie theatre!  We'll receive our new 2015 Occasions and Sale-a-Bration Catalogs, plus a free stamp set!  So much FUN - can't wait!
But for now, shown above is one of the cards the Hostess Club girls made this past Sunday.  It is the triple time stamping technique using the By the Tide stamp set.  The colors used in the sample are Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe.  This is such an easy technique!  You can view Dawn Olchefske's video HERE to see how it is done and for the measurements.

Must get going.  Thanks for peeking in today!

Feel Goods, Stepped-Up

Hi there!  This will be a quick post.....lots to do today.  I'm sharing a stepped-up version of a card I made a long time ago.  The original one-layer card is shown  HERE.  The crayon resist technique used is also explained.  Much happier with the revamped version.   I like layers....just sayin'.

New WEEKLY DEALS came out today.  Click on the image in the top right to check this week's items.

Headed to the grocery store.  Yesterday the temps were still below freezing.  Didn't want to take a chance of hitting an icy patch in the car or with my body!  (We had sleet/rain Saturday night.)

Thank you so much for visiting today!

Good Thoughts

Hi there!  Hope you had a good weekend.  Mine was busy with the granddaughter here and trying to get packed for my trip.  I leave today for FL to spend Thanksgiving with my oldest daughter.  The hubs will be here to hold down the fort.  Thought I'd have a chance to schedule some posts but that didn't happen.  Before I go, though, here is another card made with bits and pieces of projects that weren't used for one reason or another.  The sentiment is from Perfect Pennants by Stampin' Up!   Not sure about the name of set for the butterfly.  Sorry!

Must get going.  I shall return next week.  Enjoy your Thanksgiving and thank you for dropping by   today!

Watercolor Happy

Hi there and happy Friday!  Quick post so I can finish a few things around here before heading out early to our Demonstrator holiday party that Sally Nusbaum has organized for this evening!  Woo Hoo!
So, here is another card using a portion of the watercolor background made with the Decorative Dots embossing folder.  You can see how that was done HERE.  The sentiment from the Yippee-Skippee! stamp set by Stampin' Up! is layered onto Pool Party and Pumpkin Pie mats cut out with the Deco Label Framelits.  A Pumpkin Pie sawtooth border strip was made using the Finishing Touches Edgelit.  The Rich Razzelberry card base contrasts nicely with all the colors (and a color that has been neglected lately).  A bit of Pool Party 1/4" Cotton Ribbon finishes off the card.  This ribbon is really nice to work with, too!

Must get going.  Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for stopping in today!

Petite Petal Shadow Box

Hi there!  Missed you all yesterday but I'm back today with a simple technique that looks difficult.  It is called the shadow box technique and was one of the make n take projects the Hostess Club girls made at our monthly meeting.  Providing make n take projects for the Club members is just a small way to show my appreciation for their support!
Inspiration for the card came from Terri Gaines.  It was her 2014 Stampin' Up! Convention sample that was posted somewhere.  Unfortunately, I don't remember where it was posted and my search to find a blog for Terri proved unsuccessful.  But, I did find Dawn Olchefske's video here that explains how to achieve this origami fold!

Need to scoot - lots to do before the weekend!  Thank you for coming by for a visit today!  Your visits are always welcome!

Autumn Leaf

Hi there and happy Monday!  We're having crazy weather - supposed to reach the 80's again today!  Sure doesn't seem like Autumn, which is what today's card reflects.  The leaf shape was cut out with the Stampin' Up! Autumn Accents Bigz Die.  Colors of Hello Honey, Pear Pizzazz, and Tangerine Tango were sponged on and the edges inked with Soft Suede.  The background splatters were made with images from Gorgeous Grunge and the banner sentiment is from the And Many More set, which is a great set!  It covers just about every ocassion.  A bone folder was used to break down the fibers in the cardstock to make it easier to crumple up and, hopefully, not tear.
The Hostess Club ladies made this card at our meeting on Saturday, which was CASE'd from a card that I received at a swap last month.  Unfortunately, there was no name on the back to give that person credit.  The only thing that was changed was the sentiment.

That's all for now.  Need to knock out a few chores before going to visit a dear friend in the hospital.  Later tonight I pick up the daughter and son-in-law from the airport, which means Rocky (our granddog) goes home.  :(

Work of Art Butterfly

Hi there!  Hope you're stamping away on this gloomy, rainy day!  Today's card was a swap Sally Nusbaum received when she attended the Stampin' Up! Convention.  The butterfly was made with the Work of Art stamp set.  Such a versatile set.  I've seen so many creative ways of using this set.  The sentiment is from Label Love.

Sorry for the brief post.  I need to spend some time in the kitchen to make bran muffins and some soup - haven't decided what kind yet.  Our granddaughter is spending the night with us tomorrow.  We'll be busy making cookies and probably some art projects, so a couple of quick meals will be in order.  Plus, the girls getaway retreat is next week.  I like to prepare as much as possible ahead of time so my time at the retreat is spent creating and chillaxing, not in the kitchen.  lol
Heading to the kitchen now.  Thank you for stopping by today and have a great weekend!

Beautiful Bunch

Hi there!  It has been a busy day with having my car serviced (wasn't able to get it done yesterday) and attending a visitation this afternoon.  A late post is better than no post, right?  lol  I'm sharing another card made at Jayne Singleton's Stamp Camp last month.  The flower is from the Beautiful Bunch stamp set, which has a coordinating punch.  A piece of All Abloom Designer Series Paper and a portion of Hello Honey cardstock cut with the Hexagon Hive Thinlit were used to make the background.  The leaves were cut from the new Flower Frenzy die that Stampin' Up! introduced this year in their 2014-15 Annual Catalog.
That's it - gonna go to bed and read for awhile.  Thank you for visiting today!

Awesome Flower Patch

Hi there and happy Friday!  Today I'm back with another Hostess Club card that the ladies made at our meeting on Tuesday.  I pretty much CASE'd Julie Pitta's card that was posted on her blog.  You can see a sample here.  (Scroll down to Aug 30th post.)   Love the color combination of Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey!  They are two of the five new In Colors that Stampin' Up! came out with this year.  Love the ribbon, too.  It's so soft and pliable - makes bow making (or knots) a snap.

Before I sign off, remember the Stamp, Stock, and Save promotion here going on until Oct 6th.  Hurry - you only have until Monday to take advantage of discounted prices on select products!  Please contact me if you'd like to take advantage of this sale!  Thank you in advance and for coming by today!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Timeless Talk

Hi there!  Today I'm sharing one of the cards we made at Jayne Singleton's Stamp Camp this past Saturday.  The old time telephone image is from Stampin' Up!s Timeless Talk set layered on a background of Back to Black Designer Series Paper in two different patternsA little bling (a rhinestone colored with a Cherry Cobbler Blendability marker) adds the finishing touch.
Later the Christmas Card Workshop team is meeting for dinner.  Afterwards, we're going to package up the customer kits for Saturday.  It's a busy week of final preparations.  Must run....thank you for looking in today!
