It's Your Day Golf

Hi there!   Todays card is an easy punch art card for all those golfer's in your life.   Julia Leece's card HERE was my inspiration, with a couple of minor modifications.  I used a Soft Sky card base and a different sentiment, which is from the Fabulous Four set by Stampin' Up!  The golf club is from a scrap of Smoky Slate cardstock.  I used the same retired embossing folders that Julia used for the golf club and ball.  Why mess with what works?

Must get back to a couple of projects - one of them being the dreaded taxes!  Ugh!  Thank you for stopping in for a look today!  Your visits are always appreciated!

Hi there!  It's Sale-a-Bration time with one of Stampin' Up's! biggest events of the year!

Sale-a-Bration runs from  January 28 - March 31.

For every $50 you spend, not including tax and shipping, you receive a FREE Sale-a-Bration gift.

Workshops, parties and clubs with orders totaling at least $300 before tax and shipping will earn an extra $30 in Hostess Benefits.

Please contact me if you would like to place an order and you don't already have a Demonstrator.  My contact information can be found in the right side bar.  Thanks in advance!

Now that we have covered the business aspect, how about another shoebox swap card?  Here is Deana Schultz's card.
Deana used a trio of blossoms stamped from the Flower Shop stamp set (Stampin' Up!) in Strawberry Slush ink.  The flowers were punched out with the coordinating Pansy punch.  She also used the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder for some added texture.  The sentiment is from the Gifts of Kindness set.

That's it for now.  Thanks for dropping by today!

I'm Back With a Get Well Card!

Hi there and happy Friday!  I'm back - for those of you who happen to check my blog!  Things got a bit crazy when I returned home Sunday evening from Pam D'Urso's Little House on the Prairie stamping retreat. We had NO power due to the storm that went through our area last Friday!  (Fortunately, our power was restored Monday evening around 6 pm.)  So I had a lot of catching up to do going through/responding to emails and cutting cardstock for our Card Buffet this coming Sunday.  Sure glad I wasn't around for most of the power outage.  My poor hubby endured those long days and nights with no TV or microwave.  It was more like the real Little House on the Prairie here than at Pam's!  lol
Speaking of the retreat, we had a blast!  Pam and Steve are the BEST hosts!  Lots of fun, food, laughter, and late nights!  Just love hanging out with these girls!  We had a great time playing Bingo Friday & Saturday nights.  Saturday was our shoebox swap, which is where you provide everything in a shoebox for the others to reproduce your card.  There were also demonstrations using products from the new 2013-14 Stampin' Up! catalog and a couple of fun techniques.  We had it ALL going on!  Besides the shoebox projects,  I made other cards that I am able to share with you.  The one shown above was CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) from Deana Schultz.  Not sure if this was her original design or if she CASEd it.  The Patterned Occasions stamp set was offered as a freebie during Sale-a-bration.  I really didn't get a chance to use this set and lately, there's been a need for get well cards.  Talk about perfect timing!  The supplies are listed below.

All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Patterned Occasions
Paper: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, White
Ink: Crumb Cake
Other: Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, small heart punch, Crumb Cake taffeta ribbon, rhinestones

That's it for now.  Need to finish cutting paper and packing up for Sunday.  Thanks for your visit today - and every day!  Have a great weekend!

Patterned Occasions Get Well

Hi there and happy Friday!  This week sure went fast.  Ha!  They all seem to go fast these days!  So, I won't waste your time - just get right to the card du jour.  This sample was made at Carla Spradling's Card Buffet back in February.  Unfortunately, some of the products are no longer available since they were Sale-a-bration (SAB) items.  The Band-Aides from the Patterned Occasions set were stamped, then cut out and popped up on Dimensionals.

All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted
Stamps: Patterned Occasions (SAB), Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Summer Starfruit, Sycamore Street DSP (SAB), Sahara Sand, White
Ink: Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit
Other: Word Window punch, Sycamore Street button pack (SAB), linen thread, Scallop border punch, corner rounder, snips, Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder

Must run to get started packing for a trip to Pam D'Urso's "Little House on the Prairie Retreat"!  The Pieces of Heart team members (and adoptees) will gather at Pam's for a weekend of stamping FUN!!!!  We are having a shoebox swap - a one layer card.  Yikes, what a challenge!  It's OK, I have mine ready to go.  Pam mentioned that we will also be playing Bingo.  Played that at her sister, Penny's, retreat in Texas a few years ago and it was a lot of fun.  OK, really must run.  Have a great weekend and thank you so much for stopping by today!

Blossom Flower

Hi there!  Today's card is showcasing one that I made at the Card Buffet of fellow Demos (Sally Nusbaum and Kim Coulter) this past Friday night.  The strips of Designer Series Paper are from the Floral District collection.  For the life of me, I can't remember which stamp set was used for the sentiment.  The flower was made by stacking five layers of punched flowers, spritzing with water, then wadding up to obtain that distressed look.  Such a pretty card to personally deliver to the recipient - or carefully wrap to mail!

All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted
Stamps:  sentiment ?
Paper: Lucky Limeade, Tangerine Tango, White, Floral District DSP
Ink: Lucky Limeade
Other:  White taffeta ribbon, 3/8" Designer Printed Brads, Blossom punch,  Blossoms Petals Builder punch, Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder

Remember!  Get your favorite retiring products before supplies are depleted!  You can look at the list of retiring products here at my on-line store - with some items discounted as much as 60%!

That's it for now.  Thanks for looking in today!

Doggone Cute!

Hi there and happy Monday to you!  Hope you had a good weekend.  Mine was busy with attending our granddaughter's soccer game on Saturday and our Card Buffet at DeLeo's on Sunday.  What a great group of ladies!  Thank you all soooo much for making our day!
The above card was one that appeared on our Buffet in Feb.  It could easily be changed to neutral tones and used for a boys birthday - or for grown up kids!  Who doesn't love a cute puppy?  Thanks to Dee Slater for the inspiration.  She has a video here.

Ink: Riding Hood Red, Black marker, White gel pen

Punchy Candles

Hi there and happy Friday!  Another week has flown by.  Hope you've had a good one!

This month was another one filled with quite a few birthdays.  The above card went to a friend, which was made mostly from punches.  The candles were made with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch and the flames are from the Bird Builder punch.  I had the sentiment among bits and pieces that didn't work out on another card.  Sorry, but I don't remember what stamp set - probably something retired now.  The background panel was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The cool thing is you can make candles in any color!  Love that!

That's all for now.  Looking forward to a fun day of stamping with some friends tomorrow!  Have a great weekend and thank you for visiting today!

Wednesday Stamp Club

Hello everyone!  Each Wednesday (or almost) I meet with a group of friends to make cards.  Someone will bring a card they made and the rest of us will create a facsimile of that card.  The following card is mostly non-SU! and I'm not sure who the originator is to give proper credit.  "Someone" (won't mention any names here. Wink, wink) forgets to write down where they got the idea!  lol
Love this card.  It was pretty labor-intensive but the results are stunning.  I think some changes could be made using SU! products to achieve the same look.  The colors are very similar to Pool Party and Early Espresso.  The SU! bird punch was used and the script on the aqua heart is from the Strength & Hope set.  The white heart was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I added some aqua under my bird's wing to make it pop more.  I like the punch used for the "nest" but will have to figure out what SU! punch or die could be used to replace it.  Maybe a few butterflies (vellum?) could be substituted for the bird and nest.
I had a card to share with the group but you'll have to come back tomorrow for that post.  Such a tease, huh?
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for peeking in on me today!

Animal Stories Baby-fied

Hi there!  Hope your week is going well.  Daughter #1 is coming in from Miami for a whirlwind visit this weekend.  Miss M, our granddaughter, doesn't remember her aunt since she was just a toddler the last time of D #1's visit.  Miss M refers to the photo of her aunt as "Aunt ___, who lives far away".  Youngest Daughter is having a dual purpose Open House for family and friends - to show off her new home and to visit with big sis.  The girls and I, plus a couple of cousins will be having a big ol' pajama party afterwards!  There will be no shortage of conversation and laughs - nor much sleep!  So, this week Youngest Daughter and I will be cooking up some good eats for the weekend and her Open House.  Looking forward to all of it!
OK, on to the card.  I wanted to send my friend, Jayne, a card congratulating her on becoming a grandma the fourth time but nary a baby card in my stash!  (Not a great demand for baby cards amongst my circle of friends.  Guess I should make some "grandparent" cards to be ready for the next one, huh?)  The next stumbling block was that I don't own any current baby-type stamps.  Not to be deterred, I used the retired Animal Stories set and CASE'd this card made by Kris McIntosh, with a couple of minor changes.  What is it about wanting to use your stamps sets after they've retired?  Oh well.

Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.
Stamps - Animal Stories (retired), Teeny Tiny Wishes, Swirls & Curls Verses (inside)
Paper - White, Bashful Blue, vellum
Ink - Bashful Blue, Night of Navy (inside)
Tools - Beautiful Wings embosslit, embossing folders - Perfect Polka Dots, Finial Press, and Square Lattice, non-SU! circle & scallop circle dies

Thanks for peeking in today!  I'm not sure if I'll have a chance to post the rest of this week.  Just remember - I'll be back!  Have a great week.

It's the Berries...

As in strawberries.  Hope you are having a good week. The card today entails some punch art.  The strawberry is made from the Full Heart punch, which was then embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and lightly sponged with Chocolate Chip ink to add some dimension. The ribbon is from my stash of ribbon from various stores.  (Gasp!)
The flowers on my sample were made from the Trio Flower punch, which is retired.  For Camp we used the flower from the Itty Bitty punch pack.
Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted

Stamps: Afterthoughts (Level 1 Hostess set-retires Jun 30)
Paper: Crumb Cake, Real Red, Garden Green, White
Ink: Black or Early Espresso for sentiment, Chocolate Chip
Tools: Full Heart punch, Bird punch, Itty Bitty flower punch, 5-Petal Flower punch, 1/16” hole punch, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder
Other:  Plaid ribbon (non-SU), yellow brads (non-SU), glue pen, glue dots, dimensionals, sponges

Tomorrow is the last day to order from the 2010-2011 Catalog!  If there is something you "need" before it's gone for good, please contact me (information on right side bar).
Have an awesome day and thank you for coming by!

Petal Cone Die Cupcake

Hi there!  Below is the card I made for my youngest daughter's birthday, which was  actually Tuesday.  Since she had tickets to the Cardinal game on her birthday and I was out of town the weekend before, we decided to have a combination birthday and Mother's Day celebration.
The Petal Cone die was used to make the cupcake with Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla card stock.  The Very Vanilla piece was trimmed down and run through the crimper.  The Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder was used on the Crumb Cake top.  All of the edges of the cupcake were inked with Crumb Cake ink.  The cherry was made using the 3/4" circle punch and a little bit of pen work. Crystal Effects gave it some gloss.  The sentiment on the folded banner was stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

Inspired by Diane J. Ouellette
