Nature's Poem

Hi there.  Wow, I can't believe it has been so long since my last post!  Life just got busy with classes, grand kids, and some traveling.  The new Stampin' Up! catalog launched June 1st.  Love it!  Today's card is one featured on my Card Buffet and uses new products.  The card layout was inspired by Mary Fish's card posted June 1st (seen here).  The color palette, Designer Series Paper (DSP), and embellishments are different making it my own.

Hope you have a great day.  Thank you for stopping in!

Awesomely Artistic Thoughts

Hi there!  Today's card is one that was made months ago and overlooked for posting, so I'm sharing with you now.  The card design was CASE'd (Copy And Share Everything) from Deb Valder's card HERE.  The flower image from the Stampin' Up! set, Awesomely Artistic, was randomly stamped onto the card base in black ink.  A separate flower image was stamped on a piece of scrap white, water colored with an Aqua Painter, and then cut out before adhering to the focal piece.  The colors used were Marina Mist and Pear Pizzazz.  The circle medallion image was popped up on Dimensionals.

OK, need to sign off since the granddog is wanting some attention now.  Thanks for visiting today!

Sheltering Tree

Hi there!  Can you believe it's the last day of 2015?  Rocky (the granddog) and I will be ringing in the New Year!  Without further adieu, let's get down to business.
Above is one of the selections from my Card Buffets held in November.  It was made with the Stampin' Up! set called, Sheltering Tree.  I was inspired by Rachel Lewsley's card posted on her blog, My Stampin' Haven, seen HERE.  A couple of changes were made (colors and sentiment) to make it my own.  The technique used is similar to Triple Time Stamping - just less layers.  You can view a video by Dawn Olchefske HERE, if you're interested in trying this technique.

Wishing you a safe and Happy New Year!  Thank you so much for stopping in today!

Lotus Blossom Sneak Peek

Hi there!  This past Saturday, the Hostess Club girls got a sneak peek of some new Stampin' Up! products used in the cards they made.  The Lotus Blossom (a three-step photopolymer stamp set) can be yours FREE by placing a $50 order during Sale-A-Bration, which begins January 6th!  Love, love, love this stamp set!  See those leaves on the "steps"?  It is from one of the clear embossed designs found in the pack of Irresistibly Yours Specialty DSP, which is another Sale-A-Bration freebie!!  Make it any color you want by sponging on the color of your choice.  The "hello" was cut out with a new set of Thinlits found in the 2015 Occasions catalog.  It can be purchased as a bundle with the stamp set, Crazy About You.  (The stamp set wasn't used on this card.)  To make the side step card, I used Patsy Waggoner's instructions, which can be found on her blog HERE.  Thank you, Patsy!

Must get going.  Our son, granddaughter, and granddog (Aspen) went home last night after spending several days with us.  Now I need to put the house back in order and do some laundry!  Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Kind Koala

Hi there!  Hope your week is going well.  The card I'm sharing today was a popular Card Buffet selection.  This little koala image by Stampin' Up! is just so CA-ute!  How could you NOT love it?  The colors of Baked Brown Sugar and Blushing Bride look so good together, too.  Inspiration for my card came from the very talented Chat Wszelaki as seen HERE (posted July 23rd).  To make the card my own, different colors and supplies were used.

That's it!  Thank you for visiting!  Your visits are always a welcomed pleasure!

Braid Technique and New Weekly Deals

Hi there!  Have you ever seen the braid technique?  This technique has been around a long time.  In fact, I did it YEARS ago when I first got into stamping.  It may have been called something else back then.  It's an easy technique (even though it looks complicated) with a lot of WOW factor.  The Hostess Club girls tried their hand at this technique at our meeting this past Saturday.  Brandy Cox has a video (and a template you can download) showing how this technique is done.  If you're a visual learner like I am, the video will be helpful.  Click here to watch Brandy's You Tube video.  When you have time, watch all of her videos.  She has great ideas!  The Club card used the same layout but with different colors and stamps.  I dusted off my Gifts of Kindness set, which was paired with Blackberry Bliss cardstock and ink (Stampin' Up!s 2014-16 In Colors) - and used Brandy's unique ribbon embellishment.  Love that look!

Yesterday wasn't a very productive day due to the fact that the granddog wanted my undivided attention!  LOL  Oh my, what an attention HOG!  I miss him, though.  He was so excited to see his "mommy" and "daddy" when we picked them up at the airport last night.
Must get busy.  Thank you so much for coming by for a visit today!

Bordering Blooms Courage

Hi there!  Popping in for a quick post to share a clean and simple card using the Bordering Blooms set from the 2014-15 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  This set contains four different border stamps.  Lots of possibilities here.  The sentiment is from Somethin' to Say, which is perfect for a friend who is going through a really rough time right now.  Blushing Bride and Pink Pirouette flowers were added.  The finishing touch is a pearl in the center of each flower.

Must run.  Thanks so much for dropping by today!

Gorgeous Grunge

Hi there and happy Friday!  Just popping in real quick - lots of errands to run today.  So....for the card.  It is super simple.  The lines were made from an image in the Gorgeous Grunge set.  Such a versatile set.  Island Indigo flowers punched out from the now retired Itty Bitty Punch Pack were lined up horizontally.  A sentiment was added to the focal panel, then adhered to the Island Indigo card base.  Ta da!  A clean and simple card.

That's it, must get going.  Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping in today!

Blended Bloom

Hi there and happy Friday!  Do you have plans for this long, holiday weekend?  My plan is to play in my stamp room - maybe even tidy it up a bit. We'll see how that goes! :)  The above card is one that I played around with between projects (that can't be shared just yet) using the Pumpkin and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Up! BlendabilitiesTeeny Tiny Wishes was used for the sentiment and punched out with the Word Window punch.  A Daffodil Delight layer for the sentiment was punched from the Modern Label punch.  A bit of scoring to the sides of the background panel and some Chevron ribbon added the finishing touches.

Time to get back to my projects and cleaning.  Wishing you a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend!  Thank you for stopping in for a peek today!

Before I sign off, be sure to check back tomorrow -  Thursday, May 22nd for a......

Sending Good Thoughts

Hi there!  Temperatures around here are on the rise!  Woo hoo!  It's going to feel more like Spring (or Summer), which is totally fine with me.  I have errands to run so let's get to the card - another sample from our Card Buffet.  Love the Perfect Pennants sentiment used here.  This stamp set is a good one to have (in my humble opinion).  The color orange is not one I typically use, but thought it would be cheerful for a get well type card.  A bit of texture was added by using the Modern Mosaic embossing folder and the butterfly added some interest.
Must scoot now.  Thank you for stopping in for a visit today!

All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Perfect Pennants
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, White, Quatrefancy DSP
Ink: Tangerine Tango

Wetlands Thinking of You

Hi there!  Happy New Year everyone!  We've been greeted with COLD temps and about three inches of snow for the new year.  That's OK.  I'll be warm and cozy in my studio working on projects for our Card Buffet scheduled for Jan 11th!  So, a quick post on the above card that was made at Sally Nusbaum's Buffet.  This is a good masculine card, which showcases the Stampin' Up! Dictionary background stamp and some of our 7/16" trim behind the Wetlands goose.  An Aqua Painter brush was used to add a little color to the gooses body giving it a watercolored effect.  The Aqua Painter brush has a barrel that is filled with water.  These brushes can be found on page 164 of our Annual Catalog.

Don't forget the new Weekly Deals and Clearance Rack items!  You can view the Weekly Deals here and  click here  to view the Clearance Rack items. Rain or Shine

Hi there and happy Monday to you!  Hope you enjoyed your weekend.  We've had rain and shine here.  People get a bit nervous these days when severe weather rolls in.  There's been too much damage already.  Fortunately, today's card is harmless and was made with the recently retired Rain or Shine set.  It is a diorama card and is quite easy to make.  It just looks difficult.  The back piece (Marina Mist = 4-1/4x5-1/2) is scored at 1/2" and 1" on each end.  The 5-1/2" side should be at the top rail of score board. Do the same with a White piece of cardstock, then cut out the middle with a Labels Collection Framelit.  Fold both panels on the score lines to form the diorama and glue ends together. The image was stamped on the cut out piece and placed back into the hole for proper alignment, then adhered.  The Designer Series Paper strip (1"x5-1/2") was added, a sentiment was stamped on a banner strip and then adorned with an organdy bow.  Your message and/or signature can be written on the back of the card, which will fold flat and fit in an A2 size envelope.

Paper: Marina Mist, White, Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP (retired)

That's all for today.  Hope you have a great day and thanks for coming by for a peek today!

Inspired Puttin' on the Glitz

Hi there!  Here's another card that never got posted.  Made this one at Sarah Klasing's class some time (April or May) before Inspired by Nature retired.  After stamping the image in Wisteria Wonder, Certainly Celery, and Early Espresso; a little 2-way glue was added to the petals to adhere the Dazzling Diamonds.  It's a very sparkly card in real life!  The White focal piece is matted onto Wisteria Wonder, then to a Certainly Celery card base.  The sentiment (from Sincere Salutations, also retired) sits over Certainly Celery ribbon.

This turned out to be a week of  lunch and dinner meetings!  Had a wonderful lunch with my friends yesterday!  Thank you ladies for a great time!  Off to run some errands and another lunch date.  Hope you all have a great weekend and thank you for checking in today!
