Weekly Deals & Thank You!

Hi there!  It's a gray and rainy day.  What a complete change from yesterday!  That's St. Louis weather for ya!  Spent most of yesterday morning and afternoon running errands with our son and a family dinner at a local restaurant that evening to celebrate his birthday.  It was nice to have our whole family together again.  That doesn't happen often since everyone is so busy.  But enough about that.  Let's get to the reason you came here.....to see ideas.
The above photo is a 3x3 thank you note card made from the Ornamental Pine stamp set by Stampin' Up!  Love this set!  Each month a little note card is slipped into my customer's order bags or mailed to those who placed an on-line order.  These note cards are just a very small token of my appreciation to my customers!  This was the note card for October orders, which also has a sentiment from the And Many More set.  Such a versatile set!  See it here.  It contains sentiments for almost every ocassion.

Blended Bloom

Hi there and happy Friday!  Do you have plans for this long, holiday weekend?  My plan is to play in my stamp room - maybe even tidy it up a bit. We'll see how that goes! :)  The above card is one that I played around with between projects (that can't be shared just yet) using the Pumpkin and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Up! Blendabilities.  Teeny Tiny Wishes was used for the sentiment and punched out with the Word Window punch.  A Daffodil Delight layer for the sentiment was punched from the Modern Label punch.  A bit of scoring to the sides of the background panel and some Chevron ribbon added the finishing touches.

Card in a Box

Hi there!  What a gray and rainy day it is today.  This "card" reminds me of  our warm, sunny days in Florida last month, which seems like ages ago.  It is a card in a box made for our daughter and son-in-law when they were married in Florida.  I forgot to take photos - in fact, I didn't take photos of anything I made.  My daughter took these photos with her phone after they returned from their honeymoon.  They're not the best, but better than what I have!  A combination of Stampin' Up! products and items from my stash were used.  Here are some additional views.

Spring Fling Swaps

Hi there!  Today it will begin to warm up a bit.  Hooray!  Get some of this snow melted.  It could be worse, though.  Need to make this short since I have errands to run today.  So, on to the cute card that I received from Ann Nahm at the Spring Fling held this past Saturday.  She made the lion's mane and paws using the Stampin' Up! Modern Label punch.  The background was made with the Stripes embossing folder.  The numbers are from the Bring on the Cake stamp set.

The following card was from Cindy Williams.  She used one of my favorite sets, Wetlands.  It appears that she used a reverse mask to sponge in the colors, then stamped the sandpipers and wheatgrass.  Very cool technique.  The white portion of the card flips up to open.  It is adhered to a single sheet of Marina Mist cardstock for the base.

Top Note Grinch and Treats

Hi there!  Are ready to ring in the New Year?  Where did the year go????  Well, I'm gonna wrap up the year with one last Christmas card.  For several years I've wanted to make a Grinch card and this year it finally came to fruition.  My inspiration came from Chris Twing.  You can view her video here.

Thought I'd also share the treats received from the Christmas party that Sally Nusbaum organized but was cancelled because of snow.  Kim Coulter made these cute treat holders.  The Santa is a container of Tic Tacs and the other little goodie is a lip balm holder.  Aren't they adorable?! 

The last treat, one of which was given to our granddaughter, is a cello bag of cookies sporting some elf legs.  Grandma's cookies are even better when they're presented in a cute way don't ya think?

Such an Angel

Hi there!  Stopping in with another card from our Card Buffet last month.  I thought Jackie Dorer-Russell's punch art angel seen here was so cute - just had to CASE it!  The only difference is the color of the DSP (she used Pacific Point).  Thanks Jackie for the inspiration!

Gently Falling Accents

Hi there!  Today is the last day of our cooler temperatures.  We're supposed to be back up in the 80's tomorrow, according to the forecast.  We shall see.  lol

Over the weekend I challenged myself to use up some of the ever-growing bits and pieces accumulated from previous projects.  I was using scraps stamped with the Gently Falling set.  Today's version is also a square focal piece, but placed on point.  The Cajun Craze leaf was cut from the Autumn Accents die.  (Still have a whole bag of those in various colors!)  A decorative strip (from the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch) was added, along with a sentiment from Express Yourself on a piece from the Word Window punch and mat from the Modern Label punch.  The card base was spritzed to match the stamped leaves panel and square. 

Must finish preparing for a Workshop this Saturday.  Later I'll have dinner with our granddaughter, then go to Mary Taylor's Club meeting.  Marla Schack and I are filling in for Mary while she's recuperating from surgery.

Poodle Pup

Hi there and happy Wednesday!  Working on cards for birthdays and other upcoming events.  Found this cute punch art poodle on Mary Rindal's site here.  I thought this would be a perfect card for my aunt who has a poodle.

Scallop Oval = top of head
Small Oval (retired) x 2 = ears
standard hole punch x 3 = eyes & nose
3/4" Circle = collar
1" Circle = collar (punch around the 3/4" negative space to get collar)
Scallop Circle x 2 = body
Modern Label, trim out middle = legs/feet
Word Window = tail
Trio Flowers (retired) = hair on legs & tail
Full Heart Punch = head/face

The square brad came from my stash.  I snipped off the legs and secured to the collar with a glue dot.  The Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper is from the Brights Stack, which is now retired.  (A new Stack with new patterns became available May 31st)

Red Hat Card

Hi there!  Well, we're starting the New Year with some cold temps - 15 degrees.  Brr!  Be sure to wear your hats and gloves!  Speaking of hats....I forgot to share with you one of the projects I designed for a Red Hat group back in early December.  (How's that for a segue?)  The ladies chose this one as their favorite project.  No surprise there, huh?  lol

Flock Together

Hi there!  Thought I'd better do a quick post before going to bed since the last couple of days have come and gone without one.  My Demo friend, Carla Spradling, had her Card Buffet Wednesday night.  A couple of other friends and I attended and had a fun evening!  The above card was just one of the card choices available in the Buffet.  This is such a cute card and now I want the stamp set after using it!  Isn't that always the way?

Buddy Swap

Hi!  I've been so busy lately that I forgot to show you the card from my Swap Buddy this month.  (A group of us Demos sign up to participate to send out one or two cards each month to their assigned Buddy.  Many thanks to Karen Graff-Povis link to her blog for organizing it all every month.  I'm sure it's no easy task - all for the love of stampin'!)

My Buddy, Alicia Wiley, sent this pretty card.  Love the color combination!  They're the new In Colors and the stamp, Delicate Doilies, is new to the 2011-2012 catalog.  Looks like the sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set stamped onto Pool Party card stock and punched out with the Modern Label punch.  Thanks Alicia for such a pretty card!  And a big thanks to everyone in Blog Land for stopping by today!

A CASE of No More Bliss

Hi there and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

Today's post is about no more Bliss - a free set that was only available during Sale-a-bration.  I absolutely LOVE this stamp set and hope it appears in the new catalog!  The neutral colors paired with the Framed Tulips embossing folder makes the most elegant cards.  Tamara Bertram's card was an absolute CASE (copy and share everything) except for a couple of minor changes.  click here to view her card - posted Mar 30   The only thing I changed was the ink and stamp for the sentiment.  Wouldn't this make a great gift in a little tote?  You could make up labels with different sentiments so the recipient could customize each card to suit the occasion.  Just don't remove the protective paper from the dimensionals on the backs of the labels.

A Taxing Day .....

Hi there and happy Friday!  Hope you have your taxes completed by now - or at least by Mon - the extended deadline.  (What's up with that anyway?)  It's always good to get tax season behind ya, huh?  Before you know it, it'll be Christmas again.  Time just flies by at what seems like break neck speed!
OK, enough about taxes and Christmas.  Let's move on to the card for today.  It's a wedding card that was CASE'd from Pam D'Urso (my friend and awesome upline).  Check out her card here (Mar 29th post).  Pam was inspired by Jan Tink.   I didn't have any of the specialty paper they used so I made my own.  Oh, so clever!  The swirl stamp from the "Elements of Style" set was used in a random pattern on Whisper White cardstock using Versamark ink, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The bells are made from the Round Tab and Wide Oval punches. (You can also use a circle punch to round off the tops of the bells.)   The Swirls Scribbles Sizzlet die was used for the curly clappers.  Some Organza and Pearls dress it up very nicely.
