Gently Falling Meets Gifts of Kindness

Hi there!  I have another card made with bits and pieces of projects that didn't "make the cut".  Here only one inch squares of a stamped leftover Gently Falling piece was used and matted on the now retired Stampin' Up! color, Bravo Burgundy.  The white panel is scored on the ends (another leftover) and was spritzed with the color spritzer tool (also retired) to coordinate with the stamped squares. The matted squares were adhered to the spritzed white panel.  A few brads and a sentiment from Gifts of Kindness were the finishing touches.  The focal piece was then added to a Bravo Burgundy card base to complete the card.

Gently Falling Accents

Hi there!  Today is the last day of our cooler temperatures.  We're supposed to be back up in the 80's tomorrow, according to the forecast.  We shall see.  lol

Over the weekend I challenged myself to use up some of the ever-growing bits and pieces accumulated from previous projects.  I was using scraps stamped with the Gently Falling set.  Today's version is also a square focal piece, but placed on point.  The Cajun Craze leaf was cut from the Autumn Accents die.  (Still have a whole bag of those in various colors!)  A decorative strip (from the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch) was added, along with a sentiment from Express Yourself on a piece from the Word Window punch and mat from the Modern Label punch.  The card base was spritzed to match the stamped leaves panel and square. 

Must finish preparing for a Workshop this Saturday.  Later I'll have dinner with our granddaughter, then go to Mary Taylor's Club meeting.  Marla Schack and I are filling in for Mary while she's recuperating from surgery.

Gently Falling

Hi there!  Hope you enjoyed your weekend.  I sure did.  Hung out with my stamping/scrapping friends at the St Ferdinand crop on Saturday and did a few chores yesterday, which included unloading my car. Finally!

While cleaning up the studio, I came across some bits and pieces of projects that had been tossed into a drawer.  I challenged myself to make some cards with the Gently Falling stamped pieces.  Here is the first card.  I had to use a Soft Suede marker and spritzing tool on the card base so that it would match the focal piece.  The sentiment is from Wetlands.

By the Tide

Hi there and happy Wednesday!  Hope you're having an awesome week.  Had a great time with my stamping peeps last night at our monthly meeting!

Today's card is one of my projects showcased on our Card Buffet.  Mary Taylor, Marla Schack, and I each have ten cards displayed.  We rotate them out after two months unless they're really popular, and bring in new cards.  I CASE'd (Copy And Share Everything) my card from the sample boards that were displayed at the Stampin' Up! St Louis Regional back in March.  Sorry I don't know who to credit.  Contact me if it's your card or you know who made it.  The camera doesn't do this card justice.  It sparkles in real life - kind of like rays of sunlight shining down through the depths of the ocean and illuminating the coral.

Must go for now to tackle that to-do list!  Tonight my youngest and I are meeting for a belated Mother's Day dinner.  We both have been so busy and really need some time to catch up on everything, wedding plans included!

French Foliage

Hi there!  A quick post to show this card for another friend's birthday.  I cut out a rectangle from the center of a 3-3/4" x 5" scrap piece of card stock to use as a mask.  The mask was placed over a Very Vanilla panel the same size.  I then lightly sponged Cajun Craze ink inside the cut out rectangle area.  The mask was removed to stamp the Early Espresso leaves (French Foliage set).  A few Cajun Craze splatters were made with the image that comes in the set.  I also used an Early Espresso marker in the Color Spritzer tool for some added distressing.  The focal piece was mounted on Cajun Craze, wrapped it with some hemp (retired product), then mounted on an Early Espresso card base.

Delicate Doilies Stamp Camp Card

Hi there and Happy Valentines Day!  Popping in real quick before getting ready to leave for the airport to pick up my sister-in-law.  Here is another card the girls made at Stamp Camp this past Saturday.  The black strip under the focal piece was changed to a lace border - an afterthought.  It was made with the Lace Ribbon Border punch.

Gently Falling and Baby Wipe Technique

Good morning everyone!  It's another great Fall day!  So with that I'll show you a Fall card that was made at Stamp Camp this past Sunday.  The baby wipe technique was used to get the multicolored leaves.  A little more color and dimension was added with the Color Spritzer.  The Spice Cake fabric was included in the bundle available to us Demos.  I didn't know what I would do with the fabric since I am really lacking in the sewing skills department.  So, I ripped it into strips to make the bow!  I was quite pleased with the results.

Another Valentine

Hope you’re enjoying your weekend so far.  The midnight oil has been burning in my studio making Valentine cards.  Below is the one for today.  (You didn't think I'd show them all in one day did ya? lol)

The key and sentiment are from the Artistic Etchings stamp set.  I cut out the key after embossing with gold embossing powder. Then I had a light bulb moment (love when that happens – and when it works!) to use hole punches for the tiny areas on the key.  The 1/8” hole punch was used for the top and the 1/16” worked for the bottom area. The heart is popped up on dimensionals.  It just seemed to get lost with the spritzed background so I carefully ran the brush tip of the Cherry Cobbler marker around the edge of the heart. That really made it pop.  It’s amazing what a little ink can do!

 Here's a close up of the key embellishment:

You can't tell that the bottom portion of the key has been punched out. Sorry that it blends in with the white.
