Fancy Fold Valentine

Hi there!  Hope you had a great weekend.  Mine sure went by fast and it was a busy one.  Many thanks to the wonderful ladies who attended our Card Buffet on Saturday!  What a fun time we had!
Yesterday the youngest daughter and I baked Christmas cookies all day.  We made approximately 58 dozen.  That's a whole lot of baking!  We both were beat by the time we finished but we enjoyed our time together.

Valentines Day will be here before you know it.  Thus, my card choice for the Hostess Club members last month.  Cindy Williams' swap card was my inspiration, only hers was a Christmas card.  The Red Glimmer heart is on a strip of acetate that gives the illusion of a floating heart.  Small Red Glimmer hearts are repeated in the lower border strip.  A closure was made using an image from A Round Array and punching it out with circle punches.

Mary Taylor and I will be hosting a 2015 Calendar Class at DeLeo's in Florissant, MO on December 21 (for those who want to make last minute Christmas gifts or a gift for yourself).  A second class is planned for January 4, 2015.  If you would like to attend, please contact me.  (See side bar or header for contact info.)  RSVP's are required as class is limited to 20.

Must get going on my to-do list.  Thanks so much for popping in today!

Spring Fling Swaps

Hi there!  Today it will begin to warm up a bit.  Hooray!  Get some of this snow melted.  It could be worse, though.  Need to make this short since I have errands to run today.  So, on to the cute card that I received from Ann Nahm at the Spring Fling held this past Saturday.  She made the lion's mane and paws using the Stampin' Up! Modern Label punch.  The background was made with the Stripes embossing folder.  The numbers are from the Bring on the Cake stamp set.

The following card was from Cindy Williams.  She used one of my favorite sets, Wetlands.  It appears that she used a reverse mask to sponge in the colors, then stamped the sandpipers and wheatgrass.  Very cool technique.  The white portion of the card flips up to open.  It is adhered to a single sheet of Marina Mist cardstock for the base.

Must get going for now.  If you would like to join us Saturday at our Card Buffet, just shoot me an email so we'll know how many tables to put togehter.  We'll be at DeLeo's in Florissant from 11-4.
Thank you for peeking in today!

More Swaps!

Hi there!  I'm sharing some more swaps that were received at the Fall "Regional" held on September 28th.  The above card was made by Mary Ellen Cope using the Joyful Christmas set.  She embossed the petals with gold, and cut out the flower.  That took some time!  It's a good TV watching project.  lol
The same poinsettia stamp was used by Nancy Gloriod.  She really must be a glutton for punishment since she layered her flower petals - so double the amount of cutting for each flower!  Nancy paired the poinsettia with a Baked Brown Sugar background, which is embossed with the new Stylish Stripes embossing folder.  This card has a vintage feel.  Isn't it amazing how color can change the feel/mood of a project?
Love the Northern Lights technique used on this card by Cindy Williams!  She did a demonstration at the Fall Regional.  Can't wait to try this technique!  The stamp set she used is the ever popular, Lovely as a Tree.
Deana Schultz made this clean and simple card using the new Gift Bow Bigz L die and Expression Thinlits found in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  Love the clean lines of her card!

Must sign off for now but I'll have more swaps tomorrow.  Thank you for stopping in for a visit today!
