Basic Swallowtail Butterfly

Hi there and happy Monday!  Hope you all had a happy holiday!  Can you believe we're almost at the end of another year?  The year flew by!
Yesterday I mentioned that I'd  have a sample from Club.  It is similar to a post from this past summer but an image from the new 2015 Occasion Catalog was incorporated into the mix.  The out-of-the-box technique shown in Dawn Griffith's video is one that I felt the girls would like to learn.  You can view her video HERE.  The background was made by stamping the fern image from Butterfly Basics.  This is a new set appearing in the 2015 Occasions Catalog, which goes live January 6.  (You are gonna love this new catalog!)
Must get going since the granddaughter is still here.  Thanks for coming by for a visit today!

All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.

Paper: Lost Lagoon, Pool Party, White
Ink: Black Memento, Pool Party, Pool Party marker, Lost Lagoon marker
Tools:  Oval Framelits, scissors
Other:  Pencil, eraser, clear blocks, foam mat

Last Out-of-the-Box Swallowtail

Hi there!  It's a new week and a new month!  AND the new 2014-15 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog goes live at noon (Pacific Time)!!!  Woo hoo!  One of the products listed in the new catalog is the Blendabilities, which was used on the above card.  This time I used the Rich Razzleberry pack.  A video can be found on Dawn Griffith's blog here with instructions for the Out-of-the-Box technique.  Oval mats of Silver Glimmer paper and Rich Razzleberry were adhered to a Pink Pirouette panel, which really helped the colors pop.

Saturday Mary Taylor and I held our New Catalog Open House.  We had a great time with everyone!  (Thank you all for your support - but mostly your friendship!)

The Stampin' Up! web site will be down until 1 pm CST.  Then I'll be able to upload the new catalog for your viewing pleasure - in case you don't have a copy.

That's all for now.  Need to finish prepping for our Card Buffet being held at DeLeo's on Saturday.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Another Out-of-the-Box Swallowtail

Hi there and happy Friday!  Gosh, it's scary to think that the year is almost half over!  Christmas will be upon us before you know it. Yikes!  Best move on to the card and not waste any more time with chit chat.
Here is another Out-of-the-Box technique card done with the Swallowtail background stamp from Stampin' Up! colored with the Daffodil Delight Blendabilities.  I may have used some of the Pumpkin Pie or Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities to get the darker tones.  Sorry, I just don't remember.  I was having too much fun experimenting with all of the colors!  (You can scroll down to view the Coastal Cabana sample posted on May 27.)

Must run now to take care of some final preparations for our New Catalog Open House tomorrow.  Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping in!

Blended Swallowtail Out-of-the-Box

Hi there!  Are you confused about what day it is?  I sure am.  That's the thing about those holidays.  Hope you had a good one!
Now, about the card.....  It was made using a technique called out-of-the-box, which really makes an impact with the Swallowtail butterfly stamp!  Dawn Griffith has a video here, as well as Kivonne Tucker seen here, if you'd like to try this technique.  The new Stampin' Up! Blendabilities were used to color the above sample.  (Coastal Cabana set was used.)  These markers are in the new 2014-15 Annual Catalog that goes live June 2nd!

Must get busy on my to-do list.  Thank you for stopping in today!
