The Graduate

Hi there!  A big THANK YOU goes out to everyone who attended our Card Buffet yesterday.  We had a good turnout, despite having to reschedule due to a medical emergency last week.  We have the best friends/customers!
I'll get right to one of the cards that appeared on our Buffet.  It's that time of year - graduation.  This simple card was made with the Pure Gumption set from Stampin' Up!, which will be retiring at the end of this month.  So if you want this set, you'd better order quickly!  The Silver Glimmer stars (cut from a die in the Circle Thinlits) added some sparkle.

Henry Says

Hi there!  Quick post today since I have some paperwork and other little chores to do.  So, here are the details for the card displayed above.  It was one of my Apr-May Card Buffet samples made from the Henry Says stamp set, which is now retired.  The main elephant image (he's so cute!) was stamped onto Night of Navy Designer Series Paper (DSP), then cut out.  Before he was adhered in place, the birds were stamped so Henry's trunk could be positioned under them.  The mortar board embellishment and sentiment are from the Pure Gumption set, which are still available in the 2013-14 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.

The Graduate

Hi there!  Today is my Stamp Camp and our nephew's graduation party.  This is the card he'll be getting.  Of course, it will contain a little extra something!  The sentiment is from a retired set.  Sorry, I don't remember the name.  I'll have to get back to ya on that.

Binder Clip Picture Frame and a Graduation Card

Hi there - Happy Hump Day!  Hope everyone is having a good week.  We had a great time at Patty's last night.  The smoothies didn't disappoint - so yummy!  Thanks Don!!!
I've been so behind showing you the great projects we've been making at our Demo Stamp Camps.  Last month Mary Ellen Cope hosted (and her husband made some yummy sloppy joes for us!).  Here is one of the projects we made. 

Isn't this pretty?  It can be used as a picture frame or a 6x6 scrapbook page.  The DSP is Love Letter, which coordinates with Riding Hood Red card stock. The embellishments around the frame were made by using Artistic Etchings stamps with Very Vanilla Craft ink and embossing powder.  Cut them out and pop them up with dimensionals.  A strip of DSP was wrapped around the binder clip (sold at office supply stores) and glued in place.  I used a black marker to ink up only the "happiness" portion of the sentiment from one of the Heard from the Heart stamps.  That was punched out with the Modern Label punch.  A second label in Riding Hood Red was punched out, cut in half, and adhered to the ends of the Very Vanilla label.  The frame was made by gutting out middle portion of a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of black card stock, then embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.  Adhere to the DSP - leave top open for your photo! 

Mary Ellen also had a graduation card for us to make.  I didn't have anyone graduating so I gave the card to a friend who needed one.  The diploma was made by rolling up a Modern Label punched piece.  Wasn't she the clever one!   It's easier to roll up if you break down the fibers first.  This can be achieved by pulling it across the edge of your desk or table.  The tassel was made with embroidery floss and secured in the "mortar board" with a brad.

Edible Arrangement

Hi there, it's me again!   Found a photo of a centerpiece that I made for one of my Stamp Camps.  The really great thing is not only is it adorable but it's edible!  It is made from large gum drops that were purchased at the grocery store (you know - those packages for .99).  Just push the sharp end of a wooden skewer into the bottom of a gum drop.  I actually snipped the skewers to get different  lengths.  Arrange your "flowers" in a container, which has styrofoam or marbles in the bottom to hold your "stems" in place.  If you prefer more of a finished look, the skewers could be colored with a green Stampin' Write marker or wrapped with floral tape.  The collars for the gum drops were made by using the largest Circle Circus stamp then punched out with the Scallop Circle punch. 

How cute is that?  This would be a fun table display for Mother's Day, a graduation celebration, birthday party, or a kids party.  The inspiration came from my good friend, Pam D'Urso.  My terra cotta pot is an old project that I stamped when I first began stamping.  (The design has faded because it wasn't sealed.)  The polka dot bow adds a fun touch.
