Birthday Herd

Hi there!  Gosh, it's hard to believe this is the last day of the year - it sure went by FAST!  That's a sure sign that I'm getting old, right?  Lol  Better just get to the card and not waste any more time.  It's another card the girls made at Club this past Saturday, which uses a new set from the Stampin' Up! 2015 Occasions Catalog.  This set cracked me up when I first saw it at the Catalog Kickoff earlier this month!  It is called From the Herd.  The card has more of a masculine feel (in my opinion) with the neutral tones, burlap ribbon, and Hardwood background.
You will be able to make purchases from the Occasions Catalog and earn free products from the Sale-A-Bration brochure beginning Tuesday, Jan 6th!!!!
Check out the Year End Clearance Sale before Jan 5th HERE.  New items from the Holiday Catalog were added last week!  Supplies are limited so don't miss out on those products at discounted prices!

Must finish up some things before heading out to a friend's house for a little New Year's Eve get together.  Have a safe and Happy New Year!  Thank you for stopping by today!

Bubbleicious

Hi there!  Hope you had a good weekend.  The temperatures are more in the normal range for this time of year.  I finally ventured out to the grocery store Friday afternoon after being cooped up for six days because of the snow and frigid temperatures.  The silver lining to this is that I spent some time in my studio.  The above belated birthday card (sent to our nephew) is one of the projects that was produced.  It was made with some new Stampin' Up! products and with the retired Big Top Designer Series Paper.  (Hello, my name is Judy and I'm a paper hoarder.  lol)  The Word Bubble dies are new in the 2014 Occasions catalog....and fun!  The coordinating stamp set, Just Sayin' doesn't have an "oops" so it was hand written. (Couldn't even computer generate since my printer died and haven't had a change to replace it yet.)
The card opened

Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Black

The word from those who attended Leadership in Tx is that Stampin' Up! will come out with Blendabilities, which are similar to Copic markers!  That is so EXCITING!!!!  We should look for them around the end of March or early April.

OK, that's it for now.  Thank you for coming by today!

Remembering Your Birthday - Late!

Hi there!  Gosh it's already the middle of the week.  Where did the time go?   Still playing catch up after being out of town.  So let's get to today's card, shall we?  It's a belated birthday card using the candle image from Cycle Celebration set and the sentiment from Remembering Your Birthday.  The elephant (from Zoo Babies) was stamped in Raspberry Ripple ink, cut out, and popped up on Dimensionals on a strip of Birthday Basics DSP (Designer Series Paper).  A black Sharpie was used to color a pearl for the elephant's eye and a little Dazzling Diamond glitter was used on the candle "flames" for the finishing touch.

Paper: Bermuda Bay, Raspberry Ripple, Vanilla, Gray, Crisp Cantaloupe

Easy Events Snail

Hi there!  Hope your week is going well so far.  This is a scheduled post since I'm with my stampin' peeps at the Girls Getaway Retreat.  Lots of good times!  What goes on at the retreat, stays at the retreat!  lol

OK, now for a little info about the above card.  I was late sending a birthday card to a friend, so my belated wishes were conveyed with this card.
Our new Honeycomb embossing folder was used on the background panel, and can be found in the new Stampin' Up! Spring catalog.  It's definitely a favorite of mine.  The stamp set is Easy Events (found in the annual catalog).

That's it for now.  Thanks for stoping in today!

Late Autumn Days

Happy Monday!  Spent some time in the studio yesterday.  Way behind sending out cards for October.  This one is for a cousin whose birthday is actually today...and the card is being mailed today.  He'll appreciate it even though it is late.  My friend actually sent me a link to this card.  She's always scouting card ideas for me.  Thanks, girlfriend!  The inspiration was found on Becky's blog here - scroll down to Nov 9, 2010 post.  I did change it up a bit and was pleased with the results.

The Bravo Burgundy card base is 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded at 4-1/4".  The White focal piece is 4" x 5-1/4"

After masking off the center area, I began sponging in some Daffodil Delight, then Calypso Coral. It still needed some depth so I went in with Tangerine Tango at the bottom.  I then put the lower portion of the White panel in the embossing folder and ran it through the Big Shot.  The sentiment was stamped at the top.  I then stamped the pheasant with Bravo Burgundy ink on a piece of scrap White.  Markers were used to add some additional color to the pheasant.  This guy was then cut out and popped up on dimensionals on the White panel, and then adhered to the card base.

Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Autumn Days, On Your Birthday
Paper:  Bravo Burgundy, Whisper White
Ink:  Bravo Burgundy (pad & marker), Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight (pad & marker), Really Rust (retired), Tangerine Tango, Old Olive marker, Black marker to dot his eye
Other:  Square Lattice embossing folder, sponges, dimensionals, eclipse tape for masking (non-SU!)

Need to get card stock cut for my Camp on Saturday 'cause I want to watch Dancing with the Stars tonight.  I'm busy every day and night this week except Friday!

Gotta run.   Have a wonderful day and thanks for checking in today!

A Second Birthday Card

Hi there.  Today I want to show you the second birthday card I'll give to our granddaughter tomorrow.  This card is a non-SU! card.  Gasp!  I don't remember the stamp set or the supplies used - it's been a while since I made the card.

All that pink just makes me happy.  Must run to finish up some projects.  Have a great weekend and thanks for coming by today!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Hi there!  Today would be a fun day to have some Mexican food (and margaritas) to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.  I will refrain in hopes to get caught up on things around here after spending five days at an out of town retreat with friends.  It's always great to reconnect with these ladies at our retreats.  We do whatever - scrapbook, make cards, watch movies, TALK (really? a room full of women talk? lol), laugh a LOT, eat a LOT, enjoy nature and the occasional wildlife (we saw five deer this time!).  We are there to have a relaxing, good time... and maybe complete some projects.  This year marks our 11th year of these girls getaway retreats!  Originally our getaways started out just twice a year for the weekend.  Now we go quarterly for 4-5 days.  Each person (or team of two - depending on the number of ladies we have attending) is responsible for either a lunch or a dinner meal - preparation and clean up.  (Everyone is on their own for breakfast.)  This system works well for us.  The best part is that you only have to cook once and the meals are awesome!  We have some great cooks.
So between the power outage due to the recent storm, the retreat, and spending time with our granddaughter (had to see her when I got back!), blogging has been nil.  I hope to get back on track...whatever that may be! lol

I'll be posting photos of projects that were either forgotten or didn't have time to post.  To begin, the following card was made for a friend from the retired Stampin' Up! set "Crab & Co".  Isn't that little crab just the cutest?  Too bad it's retired.

Recipe
Stamps: Crab & Co
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Pacific Point
Ink: Black
Other: Googly eyes (non-SU!)
