Tractor Punch Art

Surprise - it's me again!  Been going through photos only to find some projects that did not get posted.  So thought I'd better do it now before another senior moment comes upon me!  lol

When I saw  this (scroll down to the Sep 9th post) on LeeAnn Greff's site, I knew it would make the perfect card for my brother-in-law who used to own a John Deere dealership. LeeAnn has the supplies listed to make the card.  Unfortunately, some items are retired - such as the "wheat" stamp from Autumn Days.

That's it for today.  Thank you again for coming by!

Hi there!  Hope all the mom's out in blog land had a Happy Mother's Day!  I had the pleasure of a nice family dinner at our daughter's on Saturday after Stamp Camp since our son was in town then.  He BBQ'd and she fixed the sides and dessert.  It was yummy!
Yesterday a good portion of the day was spent on the phone catching up with friends.  Then my daughter in Miami and I had a marathon phone call for three hours!  We both have had really busy schedules so it was good to finally get caught up... for now.

Had a great group of gals at Stamp Camp on Saturday - and three new attendees!  (Hi ladies!)  Guess I'd better quit blabbing and get on with one of the projects!  The main focus of this month's Camp centered around Retiring Stamps and/or Accessories.
The card below showcases two retiring stamp sets - Autumn Days and Trendy Trees (sentiment).  Watercolor Wonder Crayons were used to make the background.  Most of the ladies in the group had not used watercolor crayons before so I was excited to introduce them to this new medium!

Stamps: Autumn Days * (115452), Trendy Trees – sentiment * (113258)
Paper: White, Black
Ink: Black, Watercolor Wonder Crayons – Pacific Point, Marina Mist & Wild Wasabi
Tools:  Water spritzer, Aquapainter, heat tool
Other:  Post-it Notes, paper towels
Inspiration: Andrea Hayes   http://www.stampinmoments.com  (has video Feb 5, 2011)
* No longer available after May 31, 2012

That's all for now.  Need to do a couple of things before heading out to visit a friend recuperating from surgery.  Have a great day and thanks for coming by!

Masculine Autumn Days

Hi there!  Probably by the time you read this, I'll be on the road to join my friends for our quarterly Girls Getaway retreat!!!!  We have such a good time!  Thought I'd better post a card today, just in case it doesn't happen the rest of the week.  lol  The card below was sent to my brother, who's birthday is on the 12th.  (No fear of him checking my blog.)  This was actually a swap received from Becky Whittemore and it's perfect for my brother.  He's very much an outdoorsy and sportsman type.  Colorado suits him.

Stamps:  Autumn Days, Sincere Salutations
Paper: Soft Suede, Rich Razzelberry, Very Vanilla
Ink: Soft Suede, Rich Razzelberry, Versamark
Other: Top Note Die, Square Lattice embossing folder, clear embossing powder

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by today!

Last of the Stamp Camp Cards

Hi there!  Here is the last card, which is basically the same card that was shown in my Oct 10th post.  I changed my mind on the Autumn Days card at the last minute.  Since I'm female, I can do that!  lol

Stamps: Autumn Days, On Your Birthday
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Whisper White
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, markers = Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz, Cajun Craze, Black (to dot his eye), Bravo Burgundy
Tools: Big Shot, Square Lattice embossing folder
Other: sponges, dimensionals, eclipse tape or Post-Its for masking (non-SU!)

The above card wasn't as time consuming as the one originally planned.  Plus I like the colors better, too.  Wanna see what the girls didn't make?  This card required some fussy-cutting and there was already enough of that on the other cards.

Inspiration for this card came from Debbie Henderson  www.debbiesdesignsblog.blogspot.com

Gonna sign off now.  I'm sure we're in full party mode by now at the retreat.  Oops, I mean "work mode"! lol  Working hard on yakking, shoveling in the food, and possibly a margarita or two!  There may even be some cards made.

Tuesday is Our Pieces of Heart Demo Dinner.  This month's challenge is a Thanksgiving card.  It will be fun to see what everyone comes up with.

Hope you have a great weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back Monday

Late Autumn Days

Happy Monday!  Spent some time in the studio yesterday.  Way behind sending out cards for October.  This one is for a cousin whose birthday is actually today...and the card is being mailed today.  He'll appreciate it even though it is late.  My friend actually sent me a link to this card.  She's always scouting card ideas for me.  Thanks, girlfriend!  The inspiration was found on Becky's blog here - scroll down to Nov 9, 2010 post.  I did change it up a bit and was pleased with the results.

The Bravo Burgundy card base is 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored and folded at 4-1/4".  The White focal piece is 4" x 5-1/4"

After masking off the center area, I began sponging in some Daffodil Delight, then Calypso Coral. It still needed some depth so I went in with Tangerine Tango at the bottom.  I then put the lower portion of the White panel in the embossing folder and ran it through the Big Shot.  The sentiment was stamped at the top.  I then stamped the pheasant with Bravo Burgundy ink on a piece of scrap White.  Markers were used to add some additional color to the pheasant.  This guy was then cut out and popped up on dimensionals on the White panel, and then adhered to the card base.

Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.

Autumn Days

How are you on this Monday?  Hope you had a great weekend.  Last week and the weekend was busy, busy, busy for me!  Saturday I attended the Happy Holidaze Demo event organized by the Glitter Inks.  Wow, there was a ton of  information to absorb!  The demonstrations and our Make n Takes were great!  Have you ever heard of Hog's Wart School of BBQ?  OMG, they catered our lunch and it was sooooo good!  I had the pulled pork.  Yum, yum!

Had a wonderful group of ladies at my Stamp Camp yesterday.  (Thanks again ladies for coming!)   One of the cards they made was a simple, yet striking card that I CASE'd from Debra Currier.  You can see her card here - scroll down to her Sep 5, 2011 blog post.  I made a few minor changes.  Thanks Debra!
