Sunflowers

Hi there!  A version of today's card is one I had seen ages ago but only got around to making a couple of months ago.   Some of the Stampin' Up! punches used and the sentiment stamp set have since retired.  The Rose Garden Thinlits used for the leaves are still current, though!

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by!

Upright Diamond Fold

Hi there!  Today I have a fancy fold for you.  This was a make n take project from the girls getaway retreat back in January that I forgot to share.  Cheryl Renth had the kits ready for us, so I don't have measurements.  Here is a link to Splitcoaststampers for directionsKaleidoscope Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up! was used on the above sample.  A sentiment from Peachy Keen was stamped onto a banner and secured to some 3/4" Chevron ribbon to make a belly band.  Below is the open view.
This card will not fit in a standard A2 size envelope since it measures 3-1/2" x 6-1/4".  You could use a legal size envelope - with room to spare.  Pretty cool, huh?  Come back tomorrow for another version.

That's it for now.  Thank you for dropping by today!

Feel Goods Friend

Hi there!  Hope your week is going well.  Yesterday I didn't visit my friend in the hospital after all - she wasn't having a good day.  So, maybe today.  Tomorrow evening is a dinner for grandparents at Miss M's school.  Saturday is our Card Buffet at DeLeo's.  A busy schedule for the rest of the week.  Enough chit chat - how about we get to the card?

This card was made at Sally Nusbaum's Card Buffet but I overlooked posting it.  Unfortunately, I stamped the sentiment a bit crooked.  (See!  We Demonstrators make mistakes, too, for those of you who think we don't!  lol)  The flower image is from the Oh, Hello set and the sentiment is from Feel Goods.  Such a pretty, feminine card.

All Stampin' Up! supplies were used unless otherwise noted
Stamps: Feel Goods, Oh Hello
Paper: Vanilla, Soft Suede
Ink: Soft Suede, Primrose Petals
Other: Lacy Brocade embossing folder, Primrose Petals 3/8" stitched satin ribbon

That's all for me today.  Must tend to a few things before heading out.  Thank you so much for stopping in for a visit today!

Cycle Celebration

Hi there and happy Monday!  Guess I can say that since I don't have to leave the house, huh?  lol  Hope your holiday weekend was all you expected it to be and then some!  This week is going to be pretty busy for me.  With that in mind, let's "talk" about the above card.  It is another experiment with the ink blowing technique using the vibrant colors of Pacific Point, Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, and Rich Razzleberry for a bit of contrast.  When my background piece was completed, the dilemma was...what stamp set?  The piece has such a funky, young, artsy feel - so not my style.  I finally decided upon the Cycle Celebration set debuting in the 2013-14 Stampin' Up! catalog.  The bicycle image is matted on Pacific Point, then on White.  The Pacific Point mat just wasn't doing it for me - it was overwhelmed by the background design.  Back in my scrapbooking days YEARS ago, I learned the trick to mat photos on white to keep your photo from getting lost in the background.  The white mat was just enough separation from the busy design.  My next struggle was...what embellishment?  Using a little imagination (or a lot), I visualized the background piece as streamers blowing in the wind.  Hmmm, a Kansas song just popped into my head.  lol  OK, I'm back!  Pennants or flags seemed the logical choice.  Pennants and flags kind of remind me of the streamers we used to have on our bike handlebars "back in the day".   (A tip for making the flag ends is to snip up the center from the end about a quarter inch.  Then go in diagonally from the corner to the top of the center cut.  Do that on both sides of the center cut line.  You'll get your inverted V.)  The scallop circle keeps my "streamers" in place.  Oh, I added rhinestones to the center of the wheels after the photo was uploaded.  The bling was just the right finishing touch.  So, there you have it!  Please feel free to contact me, if you have any questions or comments.

That's it for today.  Hope you have a good one and thanks so much for coming by!
