Postage Due

Hi there!  I'm back with another vintage card and the last sample from our Christmas Card Workshop.  The "poinsettia" was assembled from pieces punched out with the Mosaic punch.  A bit of texture was added to the flower "petals" by using the Petals a Plenty embossing folder.  Everything has been distressed with Soft Suede ink.  Using a 1-1/4" circle base to build the flower makes the process much easier.  Begin with four "petals" positioned North, South, East, and West with the tips of the "petals" meeting at approximately the middle point of the circle.  The top layer of "petals" are offset.  A Champagne Glimmer flower adds some bling to the center and hides the points underneath.  Adhere the "leaves" to the back of the circle.  The "poinsettia" is then adhered to the card base with Dimensionals.

Lovely Christmas

Hi there!  It's supposed to warm up a bit this week - like in the 40's.  Sounds good.  Meanwhile, I'll continue showcasing Christmas cards from our Christmas Card Workshop.  Christmas is just a week away!  Yikes!
The image on the above card was stamped with Stampin' Up!s popular stamp, Lovely as a Tree.  The sentiment is from More Merry Messages.  A bit of bling on the tree and Glimmer paper along the sides add the finishing touches.
Must run.  Thank you for visiting!  You're always welcome!

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, More Merry Messages
Paper: White, Island Indigo, Silver Glimmer, Winter Frost DSP
Ink: Island Indigo, Pool Party
Other:  Silver ribbon, small rhinestones, glue dots

Mosaic Madness Christmas

Hi there!  Woke up to a winter wonderland of snow!  It sure is beautiful, however, my plans for today have been cancelled.  Sooooo, I'll post a card from our Christmas Card Workshop held earlier this year.  (Realized I never did post the cards.  Oops!)  This CAS (Clean And Simple) design was made using Stampin' Up!s Mosaic Madness stamp set and coordinating punch.  The sentiment is from More Merry Messages.  A little bit of paper piercing dresses up the corners.  Amazing what a difference that makes!

Stay warm and thank you for stopping by today!

Faux Patina Technique

Hi there!  One of the things I've been wanting to try is the faux patina technique after seeing the video/directions for this technique on Angie Leach's blog found here.  It was also one of the demonstrations at our Holidaze Demo event back in September.  Soooo, our stamping retreat this past week was the perfect time to "play" around with this technique.  Then I CASE'd Leena Girsa's card here.  Love how it turned out but it's a bit labor intensive for my 60+ Christmas cards this year.

Ink: Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Always Artichoke, Soft Suede
