Ouch!

Hi there!  Sure has been some crazy weather we've been having - sunshine, then rain, then sun again.  The trees and plants are blooming.  Hope you had a great weekend.  My weekend consisted of attending one of the local fish fries on Friday, another birthday lunch with another friend on Saturday, then that evening we had our granddaughter overnight.  So, for not having any plans (other than getting tax info together) it turned out to be pretty busy - and fun.  Except for the part of not getting tax info together and finding out that a good friend ended up in the hospital.  (Sending lots of prayers her way.)
A different friend had foot surgery a few weeks ago.  I remember seeing a really cute card that Pam D'Urso made of a foot in a cast, which fit the bill to wish my friend a speedy recovery.   Pam's card was made from the retired Stocking Builder punch you can see her card here - scroll down to Jan 9th post.   This punch is perfect to make a boot or cast.  Too bad it's now retired.  The sentiment is another retired item from the Love & Care stamp set.  It was just the right sentiment for this situation.  Sorry but I don't remember which set the flower image came from to make the background.  Hopefully, this card brought a little smile to my friend's face knowing that I was thinking about her.

Must sign off for now to get started on todays "To Do" list.  Oh, Dancing with the Stars airs their new season tonight.  Gotta watch that!
Take care and thank you for stopping by today!

Occasions Mini is Here!!

Hi there!  Yesterday was the start date of the new Occasions Mini.  Check it out for some awesome, new products!!  The Framelits and Edgelits Dies and really neat.  The Adorning Accents Dies have coordinating embossing folders!   Click here to download the Occasions Mini and shop my on-line store.  If you don't have a Demonstrator and would like to purchase Stampin' Up! products, please contact me at the information on the right side bar.  Thanks!

Well, yesterday I was able to get back into my routine of stamping with the Wednesday Girls.  Below is a project we made.  Marla, who is so creative, designed this cute card.  I have been meaning to make one of these hobby horses that I've seen on different blogs.  I was so excited that she brought it to the table for us to make.  Thanks, Marla!  The hobby horse was made using the Stocking Builder punch, which unfortunately is no longer available.

My card base is Early Espresso with Well Worn DSP as the background layer. The diagonal piece is Very Vanilla and Island Indigo. The horse's head was punched from Crumb Cake with an Early Espresso muzzle.  Snip the pom poms off some trim and you have a bridle!  Now how clever is that?  A brad resembles the hardware.  Twine was looped on sticky strip then snipped and separated to make his mane.  The ears are from the bird punch.  His eye is a gem.  The stick is a choclate coated peppermint stick (yum) adhered between two "head" pieces.

Time for me to pick up the granddaughter.  Have a great day and thank you for coming by today!!

Oh Baby!

Happy Friday!  This week flew by, huh?
Another busy day at Camp Sumner!  Gonna be real quick and show you the card I made for a friend to acknowledge the birth of her new grandbaby.
I saw Jackie Topa's adorable baby card and pretty much CASEd it - just a couple of changes.  (Jackie's work is amazing! She is so creative!  (you can view her blog by clicking here.)  These cute little booties were made with the Stitched Stockings stamp set and the coordinating Stocking Builder punch.  My background was stamped with Pretty in Pink ink using the Delicate Doily stamp.  The lace trim was made from the Lace Ribbon Border punch.  I had the ribbon in my stash for ages so decided to use it up - don't get too many opportunities to make baby cards these days.  Know what I mean? lol

Speaking of grandchildren, our granddaughter will be spending the night with us tonight.  Need to scoot to meet a friend for coffee, then run errands before getting Miss M from daycare.

Have a great weekend and thank you for coming by today!

Congratulations and a Buddy Swap

Hi there!  Gee it's already hump day!  This week is flying.
I have been remiss in posting pics of a couple of cards I received last month.  The first one is from Tami Waddell congratulating me for promoting to Supervisor.  Wasn't that thoughtful of her?  I've never met her and she lives in CA.  Love this company!  SU! people are the BEST!  Tami created the card in My Digital Studio (MDS).  I like how she put the plants among the subtle background.  Pretty cool, huh?  Thanks, Tami!
The next card came from Brenda Moore, my August Stampin' Buddy.  I participate in a monthly Buddy Swap.  Karen Graff-Povis does all the work/organizing to send us our Buddy info so that we can send our card out by the 25th of each month. (Thanks, Karen)
Brenda used the new Stitched Stockings set with the coordinating punch.  The beautiful script is from the Hand-Penned Holidays set, which is so elegant.  How about that red glimmer paper.  Very sparkly! (to borrow a line from "Rain Man")  Thanks, Brenda, for the cute card.

Busy day today.  It's the Wednesday Girls (stamp group) then I'm off to help my friend, Jayne, with Make n Takes at the "Y".   I appreciate you stopping by today!

My Light Bulb Moment Means a Tip For You!

Hi there!  Hope you're enjoying your Labor Day weekend.  We are having some cooler temperatures - finally!  Fall has become my favorite season.  Of course, around here it could shoot back up into the 90's next week - or even tomorrow! lol  Crazy weather!

Yesterday I was working on some holiday card ideas for my upcoming Christmas Card Workshop.  I was using the Stitched Stockings stamp set and the Stocking Builder punch that came out in the Holiday mini.  Too cute!  The issue I had was each time I changed the clear mount stocking image, my placement would be off to punch it out.  So....I had the idea of punching a scrap piece of card stock and using that as a guide for my stocking and parts.  Then, it occurred to me to take it one step further by tracing inside the negative area of my scrap template onto my acrylic block with a Sharpie!

Now I can see exactly where the stocking should be placed!  Cool, huh?  I'm pretty sure  the ink will come off with alcohol.  But if it doesn't, that's OK.

Have a great day and thanks for coming by today!
