A New Year Around the Corner

Hi there!  Are you in shock that I'm posting?  There were several things I had planned to post but with getting sick, the holidays, blah, blah, blah.... it just didn't happen!  So, I'm doing it now.  First, here are a few photos of Cookie Baking Day that my youngest daughter (the oldest lives too far away to be included) and I did this year.  This has been one of our mother-daughter traditions since 2003.  It is a major 12 hour work day for us!  But we enjoy spending the time together and giving our baked goodies to others.

Sorting baked goodies into containers
I also have some Christmas cards to share.  These are cards that didn't make the cut for the Christmas Card Workshop Jayne Singleton and I held on Dec 3rd.  There were some others but I didn't get photos of them before mailing out.  (At least I did get some Christmas cards sent out!)

This was CASE'd  from Penny Thomas

So many versions of this card on the internet.  I used Lorrie Heiling's color combination.

I want to thank everyone who has stopped by to visit this past year!  Your visits (and comments) mean a lot to me.  Wishing you all a safe, healthy, and Happy New Year!

You Suit Me to a Tea

How 'bout that - a post two days in a row! lol   Hope you all are doing well and aren't too frenzied preparing for the holiday upon us.
Just wanted to pop in real quick to give you a sneak peek from the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog.  The Tea Shoppe set was used for one of the Make n Take projects at our Customer Appreciation Open House on Dec 11th.  This set will be available for purchase on Jan 4, 2012.  Absolutely love this set - so romantic and feminine!  Our customers loved it, too, and can't wait to buy it.  (Pre-ordering new products is just one of the great perks of being a Demo!!)

Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.
Stamps:  Tea Shoppe
Paper:  White, Blush Blossom
Ink: Blush Blossom, Pear Pizzazz
Other: Twitterpated Designer Fabric, circle punches, Pearls, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder

Jayne and I had a fun day chatting and relaxing with everyone.  There was plenty of food and good cheer!
Unfortunately, neither Jayne nor I thought about taking pictures.  On the other hand, maybe it was for the best once the "good cheer" began.  Know what I mean? (wink)
We truly appreciate our customers support, but most of all we cherish the friendships we have made.  Thank you again ladies!  You are the BEST!!!

Have a great Christmas weekend everyone and thank you for coming by today!

Roses

Hi again!  I forgot to post a pic of the roses my husband gave me last night for our 34th anniversary.  Wow, it's hard to believe we've been married that long!  We're not old enough! lol

Aren't they beautiful?  They smell wonderful, too.  Ok need to scoot.  Later!

How Un-Canny

Hi there!  I'm making a comeback (Vicks & Nyquil do wonders!) and now doing double time to get everything accomplished before Christmas.  My husband reminds me that what must get done, will.  Whatever is left, is just extra.  And you know what?  He is absolutely right!  I just have to keep reminding myself of this philosphy.

Anyway..... last month I totally forgot to post our monthly Demo challenge that we have at our Pieces of Heart meetings.  Maybe it's because I forgot to take my camera.  I don't have pics of anyone's altered can - just mine since it was photographed at home.  Jayne and I must have been channeling each other because our cans were very similar.

When Patty Schnell issued the challenge, my thoughts immediately turned to Christmas and then to making Santa pants.  Wow, had my plan of action even before leaving the restaurant!  That was a first!  lol
Real Red cardstock was wrapped around the can, added a strip of black for the "belt" and then a buckle from Silver Glimmer Paper.  A black circle cut in half made the tops of Santa's "shoes".  For the suspenders, I adhered retired ribbon onto strips of cardstock to give them some stability.  The ends were tucked underneath the "belt".   A cute presentation for some treats don't you think?

Sorry for the short post.  Back to my "to do" list to cross off some of those necessary chores.  Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by!  Your visits are always appreciated.

Love Birds

Surprise - it's me!  Dropping in to do a super quick post before dashing out the door to my daughter's to make cookies.  It will be a baking marathon!  lol
This card was CASE'd from Donna at Butternut Sage Designs.  She is so creative and always thinking out of the box!

The negative of the bird punch was used as a stencil.  Not sure what stamp set Donna used on her birds but I used Creative Elements.  Cute idea for an anniversary card don't ya think?  Must run now.  Hope you have a great weekend!
