Hi - hope everyone had a great Memorial Day! I've just been chillin'
since the mercury on the thermometer shot up to 94 degrees today - or
somewhere thereabouts. What happened to Spring?? Speaking of Spring,
why don't we spring on over to the projects that were made at Stamp Camp
on Saturday.
This card was inspired by Nancy Riley. You can click here for her post on Jan 29, 2011
All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Create a Cupcake (retired) Paper: White, Blushing Bride, Real Red, Chocolate Chip Ink: Blushing Bride, Real Red, Chocolate Chip Tools: Build a Cupcake punch, Scallop punch, 1-3/7" circle punch, 1/8" hole punch Other: Crystal Effects, Elegant Lines embosing folder, dimensionals
Note: The girls added Dazzling Diamonds to the cupcake tops. Glistens like sugar! My sample doesn't have Dazzling Diamonds. I thought of it afterwards. Duh!
The inlaid technique was used on the above card. Love that look! I was inspired by a card Marcy Adams showcased on our Demonstrator web site (sorry I can't link it for you!). It is almost an exact CASE of her card.
Stamps: On the Green Paper: White, Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Pacific Point, Garden Green Ink: Garden Green Tools: Circle punches - 1-3/4", 1-3/8", 1-1/2", 1-1/4", 1", 5/8" Other: Square Lattice embossing folder
When I saw Christy Workowski's card posted on our web site (Stampin' Connection) I fell in love! Such a beautiful card and color combination. Christy used the Victoria Crochet trim but I had to substitute since I didn't have enough ribbon for everyone at Camp. It still captures the essence of her card.
Stamps: Strength & Hope Paper: Crumb Cake, Perfect Plum Ink: Crumb Cake, Perfect Plum Tools: Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder Other: Pearls, dimensionals, sponges
A little bit of punch art makes this card. Inspiration came from Stampqueen17 click here to view
Stamps: Birthday Bliss Paper: White, Real Red, Black, Gray Ink: Real Red Tools: 1-3/4" & 1-1/4" circle punches, Word Window punch, flower punch from Itty Bitty punch pack, Gear punch, Modern Label punch Other: Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder
My upline, Pam D'Urso makes beautiful clean and simple cards. I copied this one from her. (Thanks Pam!) The only thing I changed is the sentiment. You can view her card here and scroll down to Apr 27th.
Stamps: Four Frames (New - available Jul 1, 2011), Teeny Tiny Wishes Paper: Black, White Ink: Black, markers - Real Red, Old Olive Tools: Decorative Label punch, corner rounder Other: Black & White 1-1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals

May Demo Dinner and Challenge
Hello! Boy we had a storm pass through yesterday. Is it me or are we experiencing an unusual record number of storms? I'm sure a lot of people were very nervous about another tornado wreaking havoc. Those poor people in Joplin! How tragic that so many lives were lost. My heart goes out to them. It's still unbelievable that no one was killed in our area last month.
Last Tues we met at Chevy's for our monthly Pieces of Heart Demo meeting. It was a special evening. It was Kristine's birthday! Plus we had a guest Demo, Kim Dent, join us - and we shared our altered jumbo clothespins creations.
I failed to get photos of Pam & Steve and our special guest, Kim. Speaking of Kim - her home was destroyed in the tornado that passed through our area last month. Pam decorated a box that was set out at the Celebrate Summer Demo Event to collect donations for Kim. Pam presented the donation box to Kim at our dinner meeting. (It was the first time any of us met Kim.) She was overwhelmed by the generosity of fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators. Let's just say there were some tears shed. Kudos to Pam for her thoughtfulness and taking the initiative to help a Stampin' Sister in need! Kim is a super sweet lady and we now have an awesome new friend!!!
We also enjoyed seeing everyone's altered clothespins. Here they are:
There you have it. Enjoy your day and thanks for looking in today!

Owl and Pocket Silhouettes cards
Good afternoon! Thought I'd share with you a couple of things I've been working on today. This will be a quick post - need to get these in the mail. The owl on the first card is made from the owl punch with a few nurse embellishments. (Inspired by Kay Sha's Nurse Betty Owl click here, scroll down to Sep 4 post.) The hat is the owl's vest turned upside down. The cross is made from the Itty Bitty punch pack, trimmed. The leaves are from the bird punch and the sentiment is from Word Play, which is 30% off until the end of this month. If you'd like to place an order, just contact me. (contact info on right side bar) Hope my card brings a smile to my Stampin' Sister's face.
Unfortunately, I also needed a sympathy card. The following neutral tone on tone card was pretty much CASE'd from Kathy Baffone on our Demonstrator web site. (Sorry!) I changed very little - just the sentiment and omitted the little stamped butterflies. I find that neutral tones work really well for most occasions. The plant image is from the Pocket Silhouettes set (stamped in Crumb Cake), which is matted on another Whisper White piece. The Framed Tulips showcases the focal piece very nicely. The sentiment is from Thoughts and Prayers. All of the edges have been inked with Crumb Cake ink.
OK, need to get back to work. Thanks for checking in with me today!

May Demo Stamp Camp Samples
Hi everyone! Hope you had an awesome weekend. Mine was pretty busy. Spent Friday at a crop from 10 am until 11 pm. Our granddaughter spent the night and was asleep when I got home. Grandpa enjoyed his quality time with her while I was cropping. Saturday Granddaughter and I played until her parents came to pick her up. I then went to have my car door window repaired. It is a mystery as to how it shattered. Poor car was minding it's own business just sitting in the driveway! Sunday I ran a couple of errands before our Demo Stamp Camp at Pam's. The projects were great, the food was great, but most of all the company was great! I love hanging out with these ladies! Wanna see what we did? Here are three of the masculine cards we made. Pam always has awesome projects!
Must sign off for now. Hope you have a great day. Thanks for stopping by!

Display Boards
Hi there! It's Friday - another week just flew by. I'm wrapping up this week with photos of some of the displays at the Demo event May 14th. There are only a few photos that turned out OK. (Hey, I said I wasn't a photographer - even with a digital camera!)
I'll be at an all day crop today. Our granddaughter is spending the night. She'll be sound asleep by the time I get home, though. We'll spend some quality time together tomorrow before she goes home. Sunday is our Demo Stamp Camp at Pam's.

Celebrate Summer Demo Event
Hi! This week I've been posting swaps that I received at the Celebrate Summer Demo event held this past Saturday (May 14). There was an early bird registration. If you registered by the deadline, your name went into a drawing for a special prize. Guess what? I won!!!! Here is my prize.
This is the doily punch - one of the new triple layer punches in the Summer
mini catalog. What an awesome prize!
We were given name tags when we checked in that morning. The girls sure went to a lot of trouble to make the cute flower pins on our name tags. Here's mine.
The flowers were made from soda, tea, or energy drink cans. Pretty sure mine was from a Mountain Dew soda can. Boy someone sure drank a lot! Can you imagine how hyped they were on all that caffeine! LOL
Later in the day we did a Make n Take. We made some cards and decorated a notebook case (empty clear mount stamp case) by making our own DSP using the One Sheet Wonder technique. There is some planning involved to do this. Fortunately, that was done for us. First we stamped an 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of white card stock using the Flower Fest stamp set in bright colors. (This set can be found in the Summer mini.) More color was sponged on to reduce the amount of white space showing. Then we cut it up according to the template, which was provided in our packet of materials. I actually assembled my cards & notebook at home. I just made sure to stamp and punch everything before we left. I changed the sentiment on the notebook by inking only a select portion of my stamp from the Word Play set.
Here is the set from the One Sheet Wonder. Wish I would have thought to take a picture before it was cut up. (Sorry for the glare on the notebook.)

Swaps - Group 1
Good morning. Ready for a new week? It will be a fairly busy one for me. Busy is good, though.
I'll begin showing five swaps from the Celebrate Summer Demo event in Granite City, IL. Hopefully this will keep the length of each post to a manageable amount.
That's it for today. I'll have more swaps tomorrow. Thanks from stopping by!
