Halloween Squares Swap

Hi there!  Hope you had a great weekend!  Mine was quiet after a busy week of running.  That's what I needed, though.  Had time to catch up on long overdue phone calls and emails.  And spent some time in the studio working on projects for upcoming events.  (Sorry I can't show you just yet.)   Anyway, the above photo showcases the Halloween Squares Swaps that I received.  Aren't they awesome?  Now to put them in a frame to make a cool Halloween decoration.  Penny Thomas organized this swap and it was so fun.  Thanks, Penny!  When I signed up to participate, it didn't occur to me just how small that 1-3/8" square really was to decorate!  It worked out OK, though.  Gosh,  these gals are so creative!  I love them all!    Hopefully, you can see the detail in the close up photos below.

That's all for today.  It is developing into another busy week.  Thank you so much for stopping in today!

Inspired Puttin' on the Glitz

Hi there!  Here's another card that never got posted.  Made this one at Sarah Klasing's class some time (April or May) before Inspired by Nature retired.  After stamping the image in Wisteria Wonder, Certainly Celery, and Early Espresso; a little 2-way glue was added to the petals to adhere the Dazzling Diamonds.  It's a very sparkly card in real life!  The White focal piece is matted onto Wisteria Wonder, then to a Certainly Celery card base.  The sentiment (from Sincere Salutations, also retired) sits over Certainly Celery ribbon.

This turned out to be a week of  lunch and dinner meetings!  Had a wonderful lunch with my friends yesterday!  Thank you ladies for a great time!  Off to run some errands and another lunch date.  Hope you all have a great weekend and thank you for checking in today!

Hi there!  Been cleaning up the digital files and have found things that never got posted.  The above card is one of them, which was a Wednesday Girls project.  I don't remember where the directions came from - will have to get back to you on that!   My card was made with mostly retired SU! products.

Stamps: Sincere Salutations

Other: White Satin ribbon, White grosgrain ribbon

Must run to get ready to meet friends for lunch.  Have a great day and thank you ever so much for stopping in today!

Perfectly Preserved Cherries

Hi there!  An uber quick post before I run out the door to meet with the Wednesday girls.
Made the background panel of cherries & flowers and the "gingham" piece for this card.  Not too crazy about the gingham piece.  Maybe should have left it blue instead of adding the red.  (Gingham technique - super easy.  I'll have to get into that later)  Love, love, love the Perfectly Preserved stamps and coordinating Cannery Framelits dies!  So fun!

Must sign off now - type at ya later.  Thank you for coming by today!

Technique Tuesday - Faux Torn Paper

Inspiration: Pinterest
Hi there!  Today I have a technique for you - faux torn paper.  Secure two strips of torn card stock with Dotto to mask off an area approximately 1-1/2" to 2" wide.  Sponge on a light color ink (Crumb Cake was used here) between the masked off area.  Stamp images from the Open Sea set (with masks still in place) using Soft Suede ink.  Remove the masks.  Your card will look as though there's a strip of torn paper across the top - but it's only ink. Cool, huh?  Now wrap some hemp (retired) around the sponged area.  Add a tag stamped with the anchor.  Stamp the globe image in Crumb Cake in lower right portion of the panel, then add sentiment (from Bring on the Cake) in Soft Suede.  Adhere the finished panel to the card base.  Add a sentiment to the inside to complete the card for a man in your life.  Why are masculine cards so difficult?  Hopefully, this will help!

Tonight is the Pieces of Heart Stampers team dinner meeting.  Can't wait to see my stamping peeps!  Our challenge this month is a project using the 2012-14 In Colors.

That's all for now.  Thank you for stopping in today!

Fabulous!

Hi there!  Here is one of the projects I worked on yesterday.  This is a complete CASE (Copy And Share Everything) of LeeAnn Greff's card here (Aug 22, 2011 post) that LeeAnn CASE'd from June Dunn.  I switched the Island Indigo card base for a Pool Party card base and changed the sentiment.  Otherwise, it's the same.
The oval area was masked so the flower could be stamped with Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Pool Party ink was sponged on, then some Island Indigo around the flower.  A flower punch and a pearl was added. A sentiment from the A Word for You set completes the card.

I'm off and running.  Thanks for visiting today!  You're always welcome here.

Catalog Christmas Ornament

Hi there!  Hope you've had a wonderful weekend.  Mine improved once I got rid of the migraine!  The weather has been great but I chose to work in the studio today.  (The windows are open and I'm enjoying the fresh air!)  All in all, it's been a pretty productive day.   Thought I'd share my version of the beautiful ornament that graces the cover of the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog.  There are several video tutorials out there if you want to try to make one yourself.  Linda Heller and Angie Kennedy Juda both have videos - here and here.
Instead of using linen thread, I used some silver filament from my stash. (Yep, contraband!)  The 1-1/4" Silver Glimmer circle creates the base for the button, which sits upon a lollie.  A Silver Glimmer flower from the Itty Bitty punch pack and a pearl give the button some additional bling.  The ornament was actually pretty easy to make - once you get all 40 ornaments cut out!  lol  A strip of the large stamped ornaments and a strip of the small ones placed side by side on the platform/cutting plate was run through the Big Shot at one time.  This was a time saver for sure.

OK, need to finish up a few things before hitting the sack.  Tomorrow is a busy day of errands and grocery shopping.  Thanks for stopping in this evening!

Tractor Punch Art

Surprise - it's me again!  Been going through photos only to find some projects that did not get posted.  So thought I'd better do it now before another senior moment comes upon me!  lol

When I saw  this (scroll down to the Sep 9th post) on LeeAnn Greff's site, I knew it would make the perfect card for my brother-in-law who used to own a John Deere dealership. LeeAnn has the supplies listed to make the card.  Unfortunately, some items are retired - such as the "wheat" stamp from Autumn Days.

That's it for today.  Thank you again for coming by!

Papillon Butterflies

Hi there!  Off and running again today - first to take the granddaughter to daycare and then work on some swaps and projects.  So without further adieu, here is another card from Camp.

Ink: Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade
Tools:  Elegant Butterfly punch, Large Scallop Edgelit, Delicate Designs embossing folder

Grill Master

Hi there!  I'm back in the studio after a relaxing Girls Getaway retreat.  Before I left last week (gosh, seems like I've been gone forever), I mailed this card to Pam D'Urso's husband for his birthday.  He grilled for all of us when we girls visited them for Pam's "Little House on the Prairie" Stamping Retreat.  Grilling for twelve earns him the title of "Grill Master" don't ya think?  Everything was superb!

Must get to bed.  (Still on retreat time!)   I need to finish getting ready for my Stamp Camp on Saturday and complete my Halloween Squares Swaps to get them in the mail.  Thank you so much for stopping in today!
