Helping Me Grow

Hi there!  It's been quite some time since I've posted any photos of cards from my Card Buffets.  Above is a card that showcases the Helping Me Grow and Timeless Textures stamp sets by Stampin' Up!  The Soft Sky panel was stamped with the flourish image from Timeless Textures using Soft Sky ink.  Black ink was used to stamp the flowers onto the White oval.  A Wisteria marker was used to color the flowers in random brushstrokes.  (Ink was transferred to the lid of the Elegant Eggplant ink pad by pushing on the closed lid, then applied by brushstrokes with the Aqua Painter.)  A Garden Green marker was used for the stems.  Soft Sky ink was applied with the Aqua Painter around the flowers for some added color.  A Soft Sky bow and butterfly (stamped with a different image from the Timeless Texture set for some added dimension) was added to the oval focal piece for a finishing touch.

That's it for today.  Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit!

You've Got This

Hi there and happy Wednesday.  Todays card is showcasing a couple of products from the Stampin' Up! 2015-16 Annual Catalog.  They are the Fluttering embossing folder (love it) and the stamp set, You've Got This.  The main color palette is Wisteria Wonder (a color that doesn't get used much by me), with a hint of Pear Pizzazz for the stem.  The larger butterfly is So Saffron, as is the flower stamen.  A die from a non-SU source was used to cut out the flower.  This is a simple card and can be used for various occasions.

That's it for now.  Thanks for stopping in today!

Afternoon Butterflies

Hi there!  Thought I'd jump right in with a card from Jayne Singleton's Stamp Camp.  Jayne is a dear friend and fellow Demonstrator.  When I learned she had an opening at her Stamp Camp last month, I jumped at the chance to attend.  (That's another great thing about being a Stampin' Up! Demo - we support each other!)  Jayne really piled on the layers for this card.  Love it!  The supplies used are listed below.

All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.
Stamps:  Best of Butterflies, Hearts a Flutter
Paper:  Blushing Bride, Wisteria Wonder, Vanilla, Afternoon Picnic DSP
Ink:  Blushing Bride
Other:  Expression Thinlits (available on Clearance Rack), Elegant Butterfly punch, Beautifully Baroque embossing folder, Spiral punch (retired), Banner Framelits, Subtles Designer buttons (retired), Linen Thread, Pearls

That's it for now.  Thank you for coming by today!

Hardwood Feel Goods

Hi there and happy Friday!  Gonna be quick today so I can finish getting ready for a crop starting later today.  I made two versions of this card by Jackie Pedro.   Since Stampin' Up! no longer has a plaid image, I had to get creative to simulate the look.  Gorgeous Grunge to the rescue!  The flower (from Flower Shop) and sentiment (from Feel Goods) were heat embossed with white embossing powder.  All of the components are layered on a Hardwood background.  The butterfly is adhered to an embossed circle made with the Fancy Fan embossing folder.

Here is a slightly different version of the same card.  The butterfly has a bit of a pattern from the Gorgeous Grunge set and the flower was placed on a solid Pink Pirouette circle, which was sponged around the edges.

Need to scoot.  Hope you have a fabulous weekend.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Bokeh

Hi there and happy Friday!  Here's another technique we learned at the retreat last month.  Cheryl Renth showed us how to do bokey (pronounced bo KAY), which is a background technique borrowed from the photography world.  You can watch this video to learn how to make your own works of art.  The polaroid looking frame and camera were cut from a new product called On Film Framelits, which appears in the 2014 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog.

Here is the second sample we did, which is my favorite color combination.
The Silver Glimmer butterfly really adds the finishing touch!  The sentiment from Best of Greetings was stamped and punched out with the Decorative Label punch.

That's all for now.  Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping in to visit!

Butterfly Courtesy of Starbucks

Hi there and happy Friday!  Most of you will have a nice, long weekend.  I've been out all day - a lot of crazy drivers out there!  It has been so hot this week, too.

Been going through photos and came across the above card that I CASE'd while at Pam D'Urso's the last time we Demos were at her home.  The large butterfly was punched out from a Starbucks coffee wrapper, of all things!  A piece of cardboard could probably be used to get the same effect.  The sentiment came from the Blooming with Kindness set.

Stamps: Blooming with Kindness
Paper: Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Pink Piouette, Vellum
Ink: Crumb Cake
Other: Elegant butterfly punch, Bitty butterfly punch, XL Oval punch, Designer Frames embossing folder, pearls

That's all for now.  Hope everyone has a safe holiday weekend.  Thanks for coming by today!

So Sorry Swallowtail

CASE'd from  LeeAnn Greff

Hi there!  Gosh, I didn't realize that it's been two weeks since my last post.  Yikes!  I returned home from the Girls' Getaway retreat Sunday evening (Apr 21st), spent time perusing the new Stampin' Up! catalog (available on-line to Demonstrators only.  Love it!) and deciding what to pre-order, attended a fellow Demo's Card Buffet Friday night, then attended a Crop for the Cure crop all day Saturday.  Yesterday was spent recuperating from all those late nights!  It's a tough job but somebody has to do it!  lol

There was some stamping going on during my blogging absence.  I was playing around with some techniques and CASE'd (Copy And Share Everything) some projects.  The above CASE'd card seen here - scroll down to April 19 post, was sent to a fellow Demonstrator who lost a family member.  I've never met the lady but wanted my "stampin' sister" to know she is in my thoughts during this difficult time.

All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted
Stamps: Swallowtail Butterfly, So Sorry, Papillon Potpourri, Summer Silhouettes
Paper: Soft Suede, Pool Party
Ink: Versamark, Soft Suede
Other: Elegant Butterfly punch, 3/8" Pool Party ruffled ribbon, pearls, clear embossing powder

Enjoy this beautiful day and thank you for stopping in to visit!

A Reason to Smile....Last Camp Card!

There are quite a few new products used on this card - at least for me.  Love, love, love the Perfectly Preserved stamp set and coordinating Cannery Framelits that are in the Holiday Catalog and will be available on Aug 1st.  The larger butterfly was stamped and punched out with the new punch (love it!) from the current catalog.  It's such an elegant shape.  Guess that's why they named it Elegant Butterfly.  lol   The flower in the jar is a July promotion special (only available until the end of this month) - spend $50 and you get the Reason to Smile stamp set for only $5!  The label focal piece slips under the circle sentiment to help keep the card closed.

If you do not already have a Demonstrator and would like to order any of these items, please contact me at the information on the right side bar.  It would be a pleasure to help you!
