Get Well

Hi there!  Here's a cheery card to brighten your day.  This was Peggy Gephardt's Shoebox Swap.  There's a lot of texture going on here but the real surprise is inside.
Wouldn't you love to receive a card like this when you're down with the flu?  Sure has been a lot of it going around lately, too!  The "tissue box" was a lot easier to make than it looks.  What a fun card!

Must get started on my to-do list.  This weekend will be very busy.....unless we get more bad weather!  Thank you so much for coming by today!

Texture Botique and a Swap Card

The Texture Boutique Embossing Machine is returning in the 2014-2015 catalog!  A limited supply is being released early.  Don't wait until June to get yours - order now while supplies last!

  • Texture Boutique Embossing Machine item #132657 $29.95
  • It's embossing made easy.
  • Texture Boutique is the perfect, portable tool to create embossed cards, tags, embellishments, and more. Use it with our Stampin' Up! exclusive Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.

Today's Shoebox Swap card was from Jayne Singleton. The colors are so soft and soothing.

The images are from Simply Sketched.  Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper (DSP) was used on the bottom portion of the card.  This DSP (one of my favorites) coordinates so well with the Pistachio Pudding and Pool Party colors.  Pool Party seam binding and some paper piercing add the finishing touches.  Lovely card, Jayne!

It was a busy day, which is why this post is so late.  Stopped by a friend's house for tea and pear tart.  Oh my, was that pear tart ever delicious!!!  Made for a pleasant grocery shopping experience afterwards.  Hope your day went well.  Thanks for peeking in today!

Hi there!  It's Sale-a-Bration time with one of Stampin' Up's! biggest events of the year!

Sale-a-Bration runs from  January 28 - March 31.

For every $50 you spend, not including tax and shipping, you receive a FREE Sale-a-Bration gift.

Workshops, parties and clubs with orders totaling at least $300 before tax and shipping will earn an extra $30 in Hostess Benefits.

Please contact me if you would like to place an order and you don't already have a Demonstrator.  My contact information can be found in the right side bar.  Thanks in advance!

Now that we have covered the business aspect, how about another shoebox swap card?  Here is Deana Schultz's card.
Deana used a trio of blossoms stamped from the Flower Shop stamp set (Stampin' Up!) in Strawberry Slush ink.  The flowers were punched out with the coordinating Pansy punch.  She also used the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder for some added texture.  The sentiment is from the Gifts of Kindness set.

That's it for now.  Thanks for dropping by today!

People Like You

Hi there!  What a great day we had yesterday temperature-wise and fun-wise at our Card Buffet!  Thank you all so much for coming out to support us!  Our February Buffet is next Sunday, Feb 2 at DeLeo's in Florissant from 11 am - 4 pm.  (Yikes! Can you believe next week is February already?)  We were limited on dates because of our schedules and the availability of the room.  Soooo, next week it is!  Come on out and join us on Superbowl Sunday if you're not a football fan or attending Superbowl parties.  We'll have our own Super fun!
Last week I promised to show you the shoebox swaps from our girls weekend retreat.  The first card above is Cheryl Renth's swap showcasing a new set from the Stampin' Up! 2014 Occasions Catalog called People Like You.  It required some watercoloring (on watercolor paper), which is not my forte but I really like this set.  The embossed panel is the new Decorative Dots embossing folder.  Love it!  The colors used for this card are Garden Green, Pistachio Pudding, and Cantaloupe Crisp.  The sentiment is part of the set, too.

Sale-a-bration starts tomorrow!  Woo hoo!  That means you earn a FREE stamp set for every $50 you spend!  If you'd like to place an order and do not have a Demonstrator, please contact me or order from my online store here.

Thank you so much for stopping in today!

Birthday Basics

Hi there!  We are having COLD temperatures again.  It's only supposed to reach a high of 11 degrees today.  That isn't as bad as a couple of weeks ago, though.  Keep warm and cozy inside and stamp the day away!  Speaking of stamping, the above card showcases some new products from the 2014 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog.  The sentiment is from Just Sayin' and is cut out with the coordinating Word Bubbles Framelit.  I also used Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I just wasn't pleased with the end product...something was missing.  So here is a stepped up version of the same card.

Ahh, much better!  The cute elephant and toucan images are from Zoo Babies.  They were stamped and cut out.  Yep, I cut those babies out!  That toucan was tricky but worth the effort.

That's it for now.  Must run out to get some printer ink.  Brrr!  Thank you for coming by today!

Just Sayin'.....Play Ball

Hi there!  Here's an easy card for those baseball fans in your life.  I made this card for our nephew's birthday who is a huge Cardinal fan.  The "baseball" was cut out from a circle Framelit.  Anything round can be used as a guide to make curved pencil lines on each side of the "baseball".  I used a circle Framelit since it was handy.  Stitch marks were then added with a Real Red marker and the pencil lines were erased.  The Real Red background panel which was embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder, added some additional texture and interest.  A sentiment from the new Just Sayin'  set was stamped and cut out with the coordinating Word Bubbles Framelits.  Both items can be found in the Stampin' Up! 2014 Occasions Catalog and can be purchased as a bundle.  That saves you some money!  This bundle has become one of my favorite items from the Occasions Catalog!

Need to scoot to work on final preparations for our Card Buffet scheduled Sunday.  Thanks for visiting today!

Apothecary Note

Hi there - I'm back!  Had a great time with my stampin' peeps!  I'll share some of the cards and projects from the weekend after I've had a chance to photograph and upload them.  Must get things put away and catch up on laundry, etc.  Here is a card for today, though, which was inspired by Vicky Hayes.  Click here to see her card.  My rendition is slightly different.  As you can see, the corners of the black strip were not rounded.  Instead of rhinestones for flower centers, I used pearls that were colored with a black Sharpie.  The sentiment came from Simply Sketched.  Other than that, it's pretty much the same.

Here are the new Weekly Deals.

Please contact me if you'd like to place an order and you don't already have a Demonstrator.  My contact information is listed on the right side bar or you can click here to shop my online store.  Thank you!

Must sign off for now to tackle those chores.  Thank you for stopping in today!

3x3 Notes

Hi there!  Do you know what day it is?  It's hump DAY!  Isn't it crazy how commercials become a part of our conversations?  I don't even know what the commercial is selling - just that there's a camel in an office area.  Enough silliness.  Time for a "little" card.  I make 3x3 notecards that get included in each customer's order bag.  They are sometimes more anxious to see the little card than their order.  Too funny - but it makes me feel good to know that they enjoy them!  Anywho......these were the December order notecards.  The hearts, stamped with Gold Encore ink, are from the Stampin' Up! Hearts a Flutter stamp set and coordinating Framelits.  A gold Bakers Twine bow (new item in the Occasions Catalog. It comes in silver, too!) dresses it up a bit.  The background was done with one of the images from Gorgeous Grunge in gold ink.  A Hostess set in the 2013-14 Annual Catalog called Express Yourself was used for the sentiment.

Sorry for the quick post but I have a ton of things to do before leaving in the morning for some stamping time with my peeps.  Can't wait!  Thanks for checking in today!

Geometrical Life in the Forest

Hi there!  Stopping in for a quick post to show you some new products from the Stampin' Up! 2014 Occasions Catalog.  Love this fox from the Life in the Forest set!  He was colored in with an Early Espresso marker .  The tree image from the same set was used to make the subtle background panel.  What a fun sentiment, huh?  It is from Geometrical.  This versatile set can be used for many types of celebrations or to congratulate someone on some good news or an accomplishment.  Would you believe that button is made from clay?  Yep, I used our Simply Pressed Clay and button mold (both found on page 167 of the Annual Catalog), then colored it with a Garden Green marker.  Color can also be added to the white clay (it only comes in white) by adding a drop or two of reinker.  Knead the clay to evenly distribute the ink.  Be sure to wear gloves - unless you want your fingers to match!  A Linen Thread bow was added to the "button" for some additional interest.

OK must head out to run some errands.  When I return, it's decision time on what projects to take for an extended weekend with my stamping peeps!  Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Bubbleicious

Hi there!  Hope you had a good weekend.  The temperatures are more in the normal range for this time of year.  I finally ventured out to the grocery store Friday afternoon after being cooped up for six days because of the snow and frigid temperatures.  The silver lining to this is that I spent some time in my studio.  The above belated birthday card (sent to our nephew) is one of the projects that was produced.  It was made with some new Stampin' Up! products and with the retired Big Top Designer Series Paper.  (Hello, my name is Judy and I'm a paper hoarder.  lol)  The Word Bubble dies are new in the 2014 Occasions catalog....and fun!  The coordinating stamp set, Just Sayin' doesn't have an "oops" so it was hand written. (Couldn't even computer generate since my printer died and haven't had a change to replace it yet.)
The card opened
All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.
Stamps:  Remembering Your Birthday, Zoo Babies
Paper:  Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, White, Big Top DSP
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Black
Other: Circle Thinlits Die, Houndstooth embossing folder, 2-1/2" Circle punch, Circle Framelits,
Word Bubbles Framelits, Dimensionals

The word from those who attended Leadership in Tx is that Stampin' Up! will come out with Blendabilities, which are similar to Copic markers!  That is so EXCITING!!!!  We should look for them around the end of March or early April.

OK, that's it for now.  Thank you for coming by today!

Notecard Thanks

Hi there and happy Friday!  Today I'm sharing the 3x3 customer thank you notes that were included in all November orders.  Forgot to post them last month.
The Curly Label punch was used for the scarecrow and his hat.  (The hat was turned in the opposite direction and folded up a bit on one end.)   Stampin' Up!s Linen Thread was used for his hair.  The mouth was drawn on with a marker.  A snippet of Pumpkin Pie cardstock for a nose and some non-Stampin' Up! googly eyes completes this guy.

Temperatures are going to be above freezing for the week.  It's time to venture out after being inside for almost a week.  Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping in for a peek today!

Gift of Journaling

Hi there!  We got more snow - but only about an inch.  I am so done with the white stuff already.
Yesterday was a busy day, which is why there was no blog post.  I finished addressing envelopes for our daughter's wedding invitations, discussed reception plans, made flight reservations, worked on class projects, and then tried to figure out why my printer won't work.  Me thinks it's time for a new one!  Ugh!
The notebook above was a gift that Pam D'Urso sent to me in the mail.  What a wonderful surprise!  (Thanks again, Pam!)  The size of the notebook is 5x7 and has a Crumb Cake cover.  She stamped the focal piece in Old Olive ink with the Ex Libris background stamp.  Some Baked Brown Sugar 3/8" Ruffle Stretch trim and a Cherry Cobbler butterfly adorned with a Vintage Faceted Designer button complete this lovely notebook.  It's so pretty that I don't want to use it!

Must run.  Thanks for coming by for a visit today!

Just Believe

Hi there and happy Monday!  Most of the nation is digging out from the snow storm this past weekend.  A ton of schools and businesses are closed today.  The last time I recall snow like this was the Blizzard of  '82.  Remember that storm?  The really dangerous thing is the temperature, which is -1 with a wind chill of -19 here in St. Lous.  Brrrr!!!  Bundle up if you have to go out!  I'll be in my stamp room all warm and cozy preparing for our Card Buffet scheduled for Saturday.  We may have to reschedule, depending on the weather later this week.  OK, enough chit chat.  Let's get to the card.  I was saving this one for a class but for whatever reason that didn't happen and now the stamp set, Just Believe, has retired.  I really like the layout and there's a chance that it still may make an appearance at some point, only in different colors and stamps.

All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Just Believe
Paper: Always Artichoke, Calypso Coral, Vanilla, Always Artichoke DSP
Ink: Always Artichoke
Other: Framed Tulips embossing folder, flower punch from Itty Bitty punch pack, Pearls, sheer ribbon (non-SU!)

That's all for now.  Hope you stamp the day away and, as always, thanks for stopping in today!

Wetlands Thinking of You

Hi there!  Happy New Year everyone!  We've been greeted with COLD temps and about three inches of snow for the new year.  That's OK.  I'll be warm and cozy in my studio working on projects for our Card Buffet scheduled for Jan 11th!  So, a quick post on the above card that was made at Sally Nusbaum's Buffet.  This is a good masculine card, which showcases the Stampin' Up! Dictionary background stamp and some of our 7/16" trim behind the Wetlands goose.  An Aqua Painter brush was used to add a little color to the gooses body giving it a watercolored effect.  The Aqua Painter brush has a barrel that is filled with water.  These brushes can be found on page 164 of our Annual Catalog.
