Zoo Babies

Hi there!  Today I've been busy catching up on paperwork, making files for the new In Colors, and other organizing projects in the studio.  That is an ongoing task!  Found this card in the process.  The inspiration came from LeeLa Smith's card posted to the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator web site back in 2011.  She used the Zoo Review stamp set and the Curly Label punch.  Her colors were Cajun Craze and Black.  Since the images in Zoo Babies are smaller, I decided to pair it with the Petite Curly Label punch and softer colors of Baked Brown Sugar and Crisp Cantaloupe.  A piece of Crisp Cantaloupe thick Baker's Twine adorns the giraffe's neck and a pearl colored with a black Sharpie was used for his (or her) eye.

Back to organizing!  Thank you so much for coming by for a visit today!

Oh, Baby!

Hi there and happy Monday!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Yesterday I attended a baby shower for a good friend of our youngest daughter.  This is the card I made, which is a side-step dresser card.  The directions can be found here on Jackie Topa's blog.  Love her work - she's so creative!  It's actually an easy technique and can be decorated for many different occasions.  You're only limited by your imagination!  This card was definitely a work of the heart in the details!  A piece of Victoria crochet trim is hanging out of the middle drawer.  (I couldn't believe that Stampin' Up! was retiring this trim!  Don't worry, there is a replacement in the new catalog.  Whew! )  The giraffe, from Zoo Babies, was stamped with So Saffron ink and fussy cut.  His mane was made from some thick Baker's Twine left over from Sale-A-Bration.  It was a bit time consuming to adhere and fray each small piece but it added so much, at least in my opinion.  A second giraffe was stamped and cut out  to cover the back.  The foot prints are from Baby Prints, which is retiring the end of this month but being replaced with a great set and coordinating Framelits!  The teddy bear is from a retired set.  Sorry, but I don't remember the name.  He was in my box of discarded bits and pieces that didn't get used on projects for one reason or another.  Do you have one of those boxes?  The Curly Label punch and the retired Pinking Hearts border punch give the bottom of the card that "dresser" look.

That's all for now.  Hope you have a fabulous day and thank you for stopping by!

Card in a Box

Hi there!  What a gray and rainy day it is today.  This "card" reminds me of  our warm, sunny days in Florida last month, which seems like ages ago.  It is a card in a box made for our daughter and son-in-law when they were married in Florida.  I forgot to take photos - in fact, I didn't take photos of anything I made.  My daughter took these photos with her phone after they returned from their honeymoon.  They're not the best, but better than what I have!  A combination of Stampin' Up! products and items from my stash were used.  Here are some additional views.

Stampin' Up! supplies used:
Full Heart punch, Modern Label punch, Word Window punch, Expression Thinlits, Label Love stamp set & Artisan punch, rhinestones, Memorable Moments stamp set, Lace Ribbon border punch, Curly Label punch

That's it for now.  Thank you for coming by today!

Last of the Swaps

Hi there!  Today is the last of the shoebox swaps from a fun girls' retreat last month.  Our theme was to make a sympathy, get well, or thinking of you card.  The above swap was by Sally Nusbaum.  The sentiment from Sassy Salutations fit perfectly in the center of the Blossom punch.  Both items can be found in the Stampin' Up! annual catalog.  How about that subtle polka dot background?  That is the new Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper (DSP) on page 23 of the 2014 Occasions Catalog.  The finishing touch is the 3/4" Island Indigo Chevron Ribbon.  Who wouldn't feel better after receiving this card?

The next swap was designed by Susan Fields.
Her card is showcasing High Tide DSP (in the 2014 Occasions Catalog), the Banner Blast stamp set, and coordinating Banner punch.  The banner stamp set and punch are FREE products you can earn during Sale-A-Bration!  Some gold Baker's Twine was used for "hanging" the banners.  This is a new item in the Occasions Catalog and also comes in silver.  A circle stamped with an image from Hello, Sailor and matted onto a Pacific Point shape punched from the Curly Label punch makes the perfect embellishment.  What a great masculine card!

Snow is in the forecast.  Looks like another day in the studio.  It's a tough job but somebody's gotta do it.  Ha!  Thank you for stopping in today!

Notecard Thanks

Hi there and happy Friday!  Today I'm sharing the 3x3 customer thank you notes that were included in all November orders.  Forgot to post them last month.
The Curly Label punch was used for the scarecrow and his hat.  (The hat was turned in the opposite direction and folded up a bit on one end.)   Stampin' Up!s Linen Thread was used for his hair.  The mouth was drawn on with a marker.  A snippet of Pumpkin Pie cardstock for a nose and some non-Stampin' Up! googly eyes completes this guy.

Temperatures are going to be above freezing for the week.  It's time to venture out after being inside for almost a week.  Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping in for a peek today!
