Last Day for the Summer Mini Catalog Or DSP Promotion!!!

Hi there!  Remember that today is the LAST day to order from the Summer Mini catalog OR to take advantage of the Designer Series Paper promotion - Buy 3, Get 1 FREE!  If you are in need of anything (and don't have a Demo), please contact me and I'll be happy to oblige!  See the right side bar for my contact information.  Thanks!

Here is a masculine card that I made a while back for the motorcycle enthusiasts I know.

Sorry I don't recall the details.  It's all non-SU! except the Photo Corner punch, which has since retired.  The motorcycle is a stamp I've had for ages - way before SU! came out with theirs (which is also retired).  The screw-looking brads came from one of the local craft stores.

Now here is the Friends Never Fade card that I posted last week (Aug 26th) only in Lucky Limeade.  I like both colors.  How about you?

Scootin' on out of here.  It's Wednesday and that means it's weekly stamp club.
Have a great day and thank you for coming by today!

Hi there!  Gonna post real quick the other cards from Camp held on Saturday.  Love, love, love this new background stamp, Hello Doily!  I used the Always Artichoke Denim ribbon that is new to the catalog this year.  It also comes in blue, which looks like jeans.  (Really? Blue looking like jeans?  Huh, how 'bout that!  lol)

Today we can register for the Louisville, KY Regional.  About half of the Pieces of Heart Stampers will be attending.  We have another Demo not affiliated with our group but we love her just the same.  Whoo Hoo!  Another road trip with my favorite Demo peeps!  This is an all day event - unlike the Branson Regional which was only a half day.  Looking forward to it!  A new adventure.  Never been to Louisville.

OK, I'm out of here - meeting friends for coffee.  Have a great day and thank you for stopping by!

August Stamp Camp Cards

Happy Monday to you!  Hope you had a great weekend.  I certainly did.
Took the trash out earlier and oh my gosh, what a gorgeous day!  Hope you get the chance to enjoy it.

Saturday I had a great group of Stampers and want to take this opportunity to thank everyone again for coming!  You gals are the best!
There were a few "situations" that had to be dealt with but everything worked out in the end.  Whew!

This first card is made from two sets that will no longer be available after Wed - Fabulous Florets and Swirls & Curls Verses.  So if you want these sets, order them now!  If you need a Demonstrator, please contact me at the information on the right side bar.

My friend, Laurie, suggested this card.  I thought it was a nice card... but after making my prototype, I LOVED it!  It ended up being my favorite.  Plus it will fit just about any occasion and it's relatively quick to assemble.  Thanks again, Laurie!

All Stampin' Up! supplies used unless otherwise noted.

Stamps: Fabulous Florets, Swirls & Curls Verses (Both sets only avail until Aug 31, 2011)

Paper: Black, White, Baja Breeze

Moving on, the next card also showcases a set that will only be available until August 31st. This is Strength & Hope and SU! is donating $2 from the sale of each set to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  Not only is this for a worthy cause, it is also a beautiful set!

Dawn Griffith was the inspiration behind my card with a little tweaking of the layout.  Love the color combination she used!

Stamps: Strength & Hope
Paper: White, Pacific Point, Old Olive
Ink: Pacific Point, Old Olive
Tools: Circle punches = 1-1/4” & 1-3/8”
Other:  Rhinestones

The third card is a birthday card made from the Petal Cone die.  I trimmed off the tab, then cut the cone in half.  The score line of the flap was placed at the 2" mark on the trimmer and the bottom sliced off to make a cupcake liner!  A separate piece of Crumb Cake card stock was run through the Big Shot to make the "frosting".

Stamps: Create a Cupcake, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper: White, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler
Ink: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler
Tools: Petal Cone Die, crimper, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Dotted Ribbon Scallop border punch, 5/8” circle punch
Other:  Crystal Effects, dimensionals, Black marker, Signo white gel pen, acrylic block

Don't forget to stock up on Designer Series Paper!  The DSP promotion - buy 3 packs, get 1 free also ends on the 31st.

Hope you enjoyed the little tour today.  I'll have the remaining cards tomorrow.  Take care and thanks for peeking in today!

Mambo Friends Never Fade

Happy Friday!  Been working most of the day getting ready for Stamp Camp tomorrow.  Everything is packed up and ready to go.  Since I didn't get much sleep last night with Miss M here, I'll make this a quick one so I can get to bed at a decent hour!
Here is one of the cards I made while on the girls getaway retreat a couple of weeks ago.  Gosh, it seems like ages ago!  I pretty much CASE'd Heather Summers' card here.  Scroll down to her Jun 17th entry.  Love Heather's work!  I didn't put the ruffle on the edge of the focal piece - mainly because I don't have that punch.  LOL  Here is my version of her card.

Use your embossing buddy to de-static the First Edition DSP.  Stamp images in Versamark and emboss with black emobossing powder.  When it cools, sponge on Melon Mambo ink - quite heavily as you can see.  Stamp and emboss the focal piece image (on Melon Mambo card stock).  Mat on black and then adhere to the card base.  I love the contrast of the colors.  Thanks, Heather!
Ok I need to get to bed since it's going on midnight in the midwest.  I'll be back soon to post another version of this card.  Next week I'll post pics of the Camp cards.  I have a full schedule this weekend with the Camp tomorrow and meeting with Jayne on Sunday to work on preliminary plans of our Christmas Card Workshop being held Dec 3.  I'll keep you posted.
Have a great weekend and thank you for coming by for a visit!

Summer Mini Ends Aug 31st and Time for a Sneak Peek!

Hi there!  Hope you're having a fabulous week.  We're fast approaching the weekend and the end of the month!  Remember that products from the Summer Mini are only available until the end of the month.  If there's something you really want, you need to place your order by Aug 31.  If you don't already have a Demonstrator,  I'd be happy to place an order for you!  Please go to the right side bar for my contact information.

OK, here's a sneak peek of the cards that will be made at Stamp Camp on Saturday.

I have a few spaces open, if you'd like to join us.  St Louis Metro area stampers please feel free to contact me to reserve your spot - information on the right side bar.

On my way out the door again to pick up my granddaughter for our weekly overnight visit.  (Just returned from a grocery store run.)  I like to have some fun thing to do and I just learned about "walking tacos".  You crunch up a personal size bag of taco chips then add all the taco stuff, shake it up, and eat out of the bag.  Miss M will love that!

Thank you for stopping in today!

Medallion Resist

Happy Monday everyone!  Hope you all had a great weekend.  Mine was very busy with the kids and the granddaughter.  Saturday we moved the ping pong table and other stuff from our house to DD's house.  We even had some impromptu water fun in DD's pool.  Miss M slept good that night!  Ahhh, the life of a four year old.  Well, grandma was able to rejuvenate with a little nap after Miss M went home.  LOL

Today I'm sharing a card that I sent to my friend (and up-line), Pam D'Urso, for promoting to Manager with Stampin' Up!  Way to go Pam!!!  The Medallion image was stamped with Versamark on First Edition DSP background, then heat embossed using white embossing powder.  I sponged on Peach Parfait, Pumpkin Pie, and Calypso Coral inks.  The center was an image from Delicate Doilies that was punched out with the scallop circle and popped up on dimensionals.  A few pearls added a finishing touch.  The card base is Peach Parfait.  The sentiment is from Swirls & Curls Verses.

I have another busy week - preparing for my Stamp Camp on Saturday.  If you would like to join us, please contact me to reserve your spot.  (Contact information is on the right side bar)
Must scoot away from the computer now.  Have a wonderful week and thanks for checking in today!

Ahoy Matey!

Happy Friday to you!  This will be quick.  I'm running errands today, remember?  LOL
Here is a card I made with my weekly stamp group, The Wednesday Girls.  They made it last week (I was home packing for the retreat) so I CASEd it this week, with a couple of minor changes.  They used the compass on the Cherry Cobbler strip and wrapped it with Early Espresso Baker's twine.  Oh, they also used a non-SU! striped paper.  Sorry, I don't know where the original idea came from.

All SU! supplies used unless otherwise noted.
Stamp: Open Sea
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Not Quite Navy, White, Regals DSP stack
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Crumb Cake
Other: Linen thread

Thanks for visiting today and have a great weekend!

Hey - I'm Still Here!

Hi everyone!  Hope your week is going well.  Sorry it's been so long since my last post - ahem, as someone pointed out - not mentioning any names or anything.  I did warn you that it was a busy time.  Geez, a person posts every day for a week then you get spoiled and expect it all the time!  LOL  Just kidding with ya!  (I really do admire those who actually do post every day.  You all are awesome.)   Anyway, I'm back and it's been crazy busy!

Monday evening I returned from the "girls getaway" retreat.  We had a great time!  Had some of those "laugh until you almost wet your pants" moments.  I think I gained ten pounds, too, from all the food we had.  Or maybe it was that $40 worth of candy "someone" brought!  Thank goodness that Texas Sheet Cake had zero calories or I'd be in big trouble!  Holy Sheet, Batman!

Had a fun Demo dinner meeting Tues with the Pieces of Heart team (and our adopted members).  We have such a fun group and it's always exciting to see what everyone does for their challenge each month.  Unfortunately, I forgot my camera!  (Still haven't recovered from the sleep deprivation and sugar rushes sustained at the retreat!  LOL)  I'll try to get some pics from someone who did have a camera.  The only picture I have is the one I took of my challenge prior to our meeting that night.

Wednesday was our weekly stamp group get together.  Today I had a three hour lunch  with a couple of friends at a Thai restaurant.  I was a Thai food virgin!  It was really good and a fun atmosphere.  I'll be a repeat customer for sure.
Running errands are on the list for tomorrow before picking up the granddaughter from daycare for an overnight visit with us.  I sure have missed her!

OK guess that's enough jabbering about my week - on to the card!  Our Pieces of Heart team was challenged by Don to make a card using at least 10 circles of at least two different sizes.  This is what I came up with:

I originally planned to make a caterpillar but with school starting, I decided to go with the bookworm.  I envisioned the black area representing a black board.  (Maybe I should have written something on the board.)  The books were made from the Word Window punch with a bit of penwork.  The apple is from the retired set "Tart n Tangy".

ETA:  The rest of the team's cards can be seen here on Pam D'Urso's blog.

I'm still playing catch up so I'll leave you for now.  Thank you for stopping by and hope you have a great evening!

Fifth Avenue Floral

Hi there!  Hope your week is going well.  It's been a busy one for me.  Seems like they all are busy lately.  Well, I'll be chillin' come Thu!  lol
Today I am sharing a card with you that I received from Carolyn Gray, one of my TX friends.  I have had the Fifth Ave Floral stamp set a long time and don't recall ever using it.  Just didn't know what to do with it.  Do you have stamps like that?   I love how Carolyn used the stamps in a unique way (and her color combination) with the Mocha Morning Specialty paper.  Such a sweetie to think of me, too!  Thanks, Carolyn!!!

Finished the Aug thank you note cards that I include with each customer's order.  So that's one more item crossed off the To Do list!  Must run ... lots to do before picking up the granddaughter for an overnight visit.  Thanks for stopping in today and Happy Stampin'!

Love & Care Received

Hi there!  Hope you're having a great day.  Just popping in quick today to show you the pretty card I received from my friend & up-line, Pam D'Urso.  As you probably know, we had a Starter Kit promotion last month.  Pam sent this card congratulating me on my new recruit!  Woo Hoo!!!  She's always so thoughtful!
This card just makes me happy!  The colors are so bright and cheerful.  I'll be CASE'ing (Copy And Share Everything) this card for sure!  Thanks, Pam!

More Stamp Camp Cards

Happy Friday!  Do you have big plans for the weekend?  I'll actually be hanging around the house - organizing and packing supplies/projects for the girls getaway retreat next week.  The longer I pack, the more stuff I take!  I vow every time that I'm not gonna haul all that stuff next time - only to find myself doing it again.  One of these days!  Will it be this time???  Stay tuned.

The last two cards were made from stamps showcased in the Summer Mini catalog, which expires the end of this month.  So if you like them, you'll need to purchase before Aug 31.  If you do not already have a Demonstrator, I'd be happy to place an order for you!  Please see right side bar for contact information.

Vintage Quilt

Happy Monday to you!  Can you believe it's now August?  Yikes!  Help - slow this train down!
Saturday's Stamp Camp was such a fun time.  Thank you to those who attended and welcome to the newcomers!
Well I promised to show you the other card we made on Wed so without further ado....here it is.

The squares are 1-1/4".  It helps to adhere the corners on the 4" x 5-1/3" Very Vanilla panel first then space the remaining squares to your satisfaction.  Place panel in embossing folder and run through the Big Shot to achieve the imbedded look before attaching to the Rose Red card base.  Love this technique.  If you have any questions, please email me.

All SU! supplies used unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Four Frames (W-123440, C-123442), Oval All (113790)
Paper: Rose Red, Very Vanilla, Springtime Vintage DSP (retired), Pear Pizzazz
