Angry Bird and April Stamp Camp Cards

Hi there and happy Monday to you!  Sorry that I didn't get to post any cards Thursday or Friday as I'd hoped.  I was busy preparing for an all day Crop for the Cure on Saturday and finishing up for my Stamp Camp held Sunday.  The crop was a lot of fun even though we thought we might have to take cover in the hallway during the thunderstorms.  There were a couple of major storms that swept through the area.  Some areas had baseball size hail, which damaged homes and cars as a result!
Sunday a group of wonderful ladies came to Stamp Camp spreading sunshine with their smiles and enthusiasm to have some stamping fun, even though the sky was gray and dreary!  And what fun we had!
OK on to some cards.  The first card is one that my Demo friend, Deana Schultz, made at the crop Saturday and gave to each table mate.  Lucky me to be sitting with her.  Thanks Deana - love it!
This fat bird was made from a 2-1/2" circle punch.  Punch out a Riding Hood Red and a White circle.  Snip out a bit of the Red (with the punch) and layer over the White.  The Heart to Heart punch (retiring May 31st) was used for the tuft and tail. The White portion of his eyes were from a 5/8" punch and the Black is a standard hole punch.  Add a little pen work to the eyes with a White Signo gel pen. His beak and eyebrows were made by trimming a 3/4" square.  This bird is zooming across a Pool Party card base with an Old Olive grassy mound.

Next up is one of the projects from Stamp Camp.  I've seen quite a few of these flower pot cards recently.  Guess we're all thinking Mother's Day or get well cards to brighten someone's day.

Stamps: Mixed Bunch (2012 Occasions Mini), Build a Blossom (leaves)
Paper: Blushing Bride, Chocolate Chip, Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade, Blushing Bride, Peach Parfait

Other:  Pear Pizzazz poly ribbon, Dimensionals, acrylic blocks
Inspiration: Resource section of www.SplitcoastStampers.com

The Occasions Mini Catalog carryover list was released today.  The Mixed Bunch set and coordinating punch will still be available!!!  I'll post the list when I figure out how to do so.

Retiring Accessories List is Released

Hi there!  Been with the Wed girls so I didn't get a chance to post the Retiring Accessories List that was released earlier today.  Many items are discounted!  Some surprising things made the list - like the Lace Ribbon Border Punch, the Snow Burst Embossing Folder, some punches and Big Shot Dies….I’m just saying.   On the other hand, I’m excited to see what new goodies will appear in the 2012-2013 Annual Catalog!

Here are some of the changes being made:
Craft Stampin' Pads will now only be available in Black and White.
A new Firm Foam pad is being introduced in our Classic Stampin' Pads.  The Firm Foam pads offer better ink coverage.
Only select Stampin' Write Markers will be available individually. (Stampin' Write Markers In-Color collections will continue to be offered)
12" x 12" Textured Card Stock will no longer be offered.
12" x 12" Smooth Card Stock will only be available in select individual colors and color collections.
Any item on the list with an asterisk next to it is being reconfigured.  An example of this could be repackaging, as in the markers example above.
Craft Ink Pads (other than Black or White per above) and Craft Refills will no longer be offered.
Classic Ink Refills (other than the retiring 2010-2012 In-Colors) will still be available.
Stampin' Spots are being discontinued.  Stampin' Up! may possibly reconfigure and sell some of the Classic Ink Spots.
NO color changes being made - except the retiring 2010-2012 In-Colors and five new In-Colors will replace them.

IMPORTANT CORRECTION:
Two items that were included on the Retiring Accessories List are NOT actually retiring. The lists have been updated to remove these items:  #108360 Craft Scissors and #103579 Paper Snips.

Hi there and happy Monday to you!  Hope you enjoyed your weekend.  This week is another busy one with getting ready for a crop event and final preparations for my Stamp Camp. Saturday I'm attending a Crop for the Cure in Edwardsville, IL.  Then Sunday is my Stamp Camp held at the Corner Coffee House in Ferguson.  I'll be hanging with my stamping peeps all week end!  Whoo Hoo!
So here is a sneak peek of the Stamp Camp projects.  Please contact me (314-779-9499) if you'd like to reserve a spot for Sunday or need more information. Thanks, hope to see you there!

Don't forget that items in the Occasions Mini catalog will no longer be available after April 30th.  Order them before they're GONE!  The Summer Smooches Suite pre-order (sneak peek products from the 2012-2013 catalog) will also expire April 30th.  After this date you'll have to wait until June 1st.  The stencil and fabric covered brads, however, will NOT be available in the new catalog.

Enchanted Poppy

Hi there!  It's been a chilly and dreary day today (well now it's yesterday).  Spent most of the day working on projects and paperwork.  Then had to go run errands.  It wasn't too bad, though.  OK enough chit chat - on to the card.  Carolyn Gray, a Demo friend from TX, sent a lovely card to me.  I just had to CASE it even though the DSP and stamp set is retired.  Carolyn's card base was Pool Party but I changed mine to Very Vanilla and used a different sentiment. I like them both.  Thanks, Carolyn!

Stamps: Fresh Vintage, Happiest Birthday Wishes
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Everyday Enchantment DSP
Ink: Versamark, Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Crumb Cake
Other: Enchantment Brads, Pool Party ruffled ribbon, Framelits die, clear embossing powder

That's all for now - heading to bed!  Hope you have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Elegant Elizabeth

Hi there!  Another quick post today showcasing a card made with one of the stamps on the Retiring List - Elizabeth.  This is such an elegant single stamp offered in the A La Carte section of the catalog (page 20).  Soooo if you want it, buy it before May 31st!

I CASE'd the card my friend and up-line, Pam D'Urso, sent to me. The only thing I changed was the sentiment so it could be used as a birthday card.  Thanks Pam!

Stamps: Elizabeth
Paper: White, Soft Suede, Black
Ink: Soft Suede
Other: Oval punches, Black Satin ribbon

Must get to bed now.  Thanks for coming by!

Fresh Vintage in Black & White

Hi there!  Hope you had a good weekend.  I had a great extended weekend with my peeps at our quarterly Girls Getaway retreat!  Now it's back to reality.  Spent the day taking care of some business matters, catching up on emails & phone calls, unpacking & putting away everything (well..almost), and laundry.
How about that Retirement List?  I filled a box of stamps that will retire May 31st.  Ugh!  But I'm excited to see what will come out in the new catalog!
Well, better get on with the card so I can go to bed!  I really love the Fresh Vintage set and enjoy creating cards with it even though it's now retired.  Hope they carry it over to the new catalog.  This card is so simple...yet elegant.
Inspired by Renee Ondrajka
The solid black strip is 1/2" x 5-1/2" and embossed with the Houndstooth embossing folder.  The postage stamp image was punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch and mounted on a 1-3/8" square.  The sentiment is from another retired Sale-A-Bration set, Elementary Elegance.  Now wasn't that easy?

Must sign off now.  Thank you for stopping by!

Masculine Autumn Days

Hi there!  Probably by the time you read this, I'll be on the road to join my friends for our quarterly Girls Getaway retreat!!!!  We have such a good time!  Thought I'd better post a card today, just in case it doesn't happen the rest of the week.  lol  The card below was sent to my brother, who's birthday is on the 12th.  (No fear of him checking my blog.)  This was actually a swap received from Becky Whittemore and it's perfect for my brother.  He's very much an outdoorsy and sportsman type.  Colorado suits him.

Stamps:  Autumn Days, Sincere Salutations
Paper: Soft Suede, Rich Razzelberry, Very Vanilla
Ink: Soft Suede, Rich Razzelberry, Versamark
Other: Top Note Die, Square Lattice embossing folder, clear embossing powder

Tulips

Hi there!  Hope you enjoyed your Easter.  We had a wonderful time with family and friends - and such an abundance of delicious food!
Life got so crazy last month that I forgot to post a picture of the tulips my oldest daughter sent to me for my birthday.  Love the vibrant colors of tulips - so pretty.  Heck, I just love flowers!

Speaking of the oldest daughter, she was officially hired by Tauck (an elite international tour company) as a seasonal Tour Director.  I am so proud of her for taking that leap of faith and going after her dream job!  She leaves for Cuba on Apr 13 for training.  That sounds pretty exciting in itself!

Well I'll be traveling too, but nothing as exciting as out of the country - just a Girls Getaway retreat about an hour away.  We'll have plenty of fun, though!!!  So, must run to pack.  Have a great week and thanks for coming by today!

Easter Cross

Hi there!  Thought I'd share another Easter card we made at one of the Wednesday stamp club meetings.  I just love this technique of cutting the Lattice Die shape to create the cross.  Pretty cool, huh?  I'm constantly amazed by people's creativity.   This card can be adapted for other occasions such as a wedding, baptism, or sympathy just by changing colors.  Pearls, flowers, and/or ribbon dress it up.  I chose to keep mine plain for the recipient.  The cross was adhered to the White cardstock before running through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice emobssing folder.  It gave the card a nice texture - much better looking in real life.  The focal piece is matted on Concord Crush, which works well with the Wisteria Wonder.

Paper: Wisteria Wonder, Concord Crush, Whisper White
Other: Lattice Die, Square Lattice embossing folder, Pearl

Hope everyone has a Happy Easter.  I'll be spending time with family tomorrow.  Love it!  Need to sign off so I can prepare my food and begin packing for the Girls Getaway retreat next week.  Thanks for stopping in today!

Easter

Hi there and happy Friday!  Boy this week flew by.  Just stopping by real quick to show you an Easter card we made a few weeks ago at the Wednesday stamp group.  Thanks to my friend for bringing the instructions for this cool technique to the group.  Unfortunately, I don't know where she got the idea. (I'll edit later with that information)

Stamps: Your choice for inside sentiment
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Everyday Enchantment DSP
Ink: Your choice
Other: Framed Tulips embossing folder, Scallop Trim corner punch, Pool Party ruffled ribbon

Need to scoot to finish some things before the granddaughter wakes up and we get ready to head out for daycare.

Have a Happy Easter and thank you for stopping by today!

Pacific Vintage

Hi there!  Hope your week is going well.  Mine has turned out to be very busy.  So with that said, I'll get on with today's card so I can go to bed.  This card came about as an accident.  The Pacific Point oval was cut out to use as a mat for a different project, when it occurred to me to use the "scrap" as the focal piece of the card shown below.  The image from Fresh Vintage (love this set - hope it makes it to the new annual catalog) peeks out from the oval cut-out.  A scallop border (from the Adorning Accents Edgelits Die collection) and butterflies helped "fancy" it up a bit.

Stamps: Fresh Vintage
Paper: Pacific Point, White, Vellum
Ink: Pacific Point
Other: Beautiful Wings embosslit, Edgelits Die, Pearls

Must get to bed.  Tomorrow is another full day.  I'll be checking in on a friend recuperating from surgery and picking up the granddaughter for an overnight visit.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Creative Elements

Hi there and happy hump day!  Where has the time gone?  Gonna be quick so I can get to bed!
Here is a card made last Wed with my stamping peeps.  We CASEd someone's card but I don't recall the name.  Sorry!  I'll try to find out tomorrow (well later today, actually) and let you know.  I did make a slight change by using a different sentiment and omitting the ribbon (strictly by accident - but it worked out OK).
Edited to add: The card was CASEd from Wendy Wexler's blog.  You can view her card here - scroll to Mar 26 post..

Stamp: Creative Elements, Elementary Elegance
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, White
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake
Other: Designer Frames

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
